Haven't had my hair cut here personally, but I can attest they do an incredible job and have friendly barbers! My boyfriend comes here for his cuts, and they're always willing to squeeze him in, even if they're busy! The atmosphere is very lax and inviting. The decorations are fun and unique. When I entered, the NFL draft was on so I enjoyed that while I waited for my boyfriend to be finished. Pricing is decent, and you are in and out in a reasonable amount of time, so no complaints here! I usually don't take the time to leave reviews unless I want to acknowledge a super dope employee or I feel like I need to be vocal about a terrible experience. With that being said I want to give a shout out to the barber Drue who cut my hair today and express the beyond phenomenal experience I had today. Drue was very attentive to my needs and took the time today to ask probing questions about my hairstyle needs & preferences which doesn't seem to happen much these days. Along with being thorough we had a incredible conversation on topics that you rarely find while having "small talk" with someone. i had just met Drue for the first time today and spent a little less than 1 hour in her chair but i left today feeling like I now have a barber that would not only accept me in whatever state I was in that day (positive or negative) but I also feel like I can absolutely trust that my needs will consistently be met whenever I am needing a beauty "touch up" because of my experience today I can honestly say that would totally follow Drue to whatever barber shop she was cutting at even if that barber shop was a hour away and throughout my 33 years on this earth I can only say that about maybe 4 or 5 barbers that I've worked with. I'm not trying to be cheesy or come off like a greasy used car salesman with this review I just hope that I'm able to properly describe my Phenomenal experience today & I hope that management will have a chance to see this and know that they have someone there that is forming memorable experiences within their establishment. with all that being said, dont just take my word for it - book yourself or your family / friends an appointment with Drue to see for yourself. My son and I came out to UT to get him settled for the fall semester. We both needed haircuts. We didn't know appointments were needed and it was the end of day. Someone stayed late to fit us in. If I lived here full time this would be my go to place. Excellent cuts. A real barber experience. I've never cared about my hair before. Never put product in my hair. Never really cared. I always got the cheapest haircut possible. My 'beard' was always a mess that I basically just hit the reset button on every few weeks by completely shaving it off. I had, and still have, no personal sense of style. In preparation for a job interview coming up I decided to get a cut about four months ago. Then the idea struck me that maybe I ought to try a hot shave and to get some advice about styling my beard to look extra sharp for the upcoming interview. Archie's came up with a quick google search and I decided to try it. Eric, whom I religiously go to now, saved me from a miserable life of great clips haircuts and terrible beard styling I had never known I was suffering with. I went from an every-three-months 'great clips' cut and my reset-button-shaving routine to a bi-weekly trip to see Eric. He sat me down, I explained my lack of style and grooming sense, and he told me to trust him. He even recommended a matte hair cream for styling. I have NEVER used hair gel or product beyond shampoo in my life. I now use Layright matte cream everyday. It's not disgusting, doesn't look all shiny and ridiculous, and makes Eric's work worthwhile between my regular visits to him. You'll see a one star review here. It's because a client clearly misunderstood that these guys and gals also make appointments but that those appointments still sometimes sign in. Don't believe them. If you wait at Archie's A) they're busy as hell and working hard on every cut before doing the same for yours and B) they're worth the wait. Plan accordingly or call ahead. Basics: Great quality, great price, amazing environment. I could hang with these guys and gals all day. I personally recommend Eric, but am sure you'll get the same quality from them all. P.S. I recently moved to Clinton and was in search of a barbershop that was fun to visit and gave reliable fresh cuts. After my first visit to Archies in Clinton, I'm convinced I've found some of the best barbers in Utah. Ray took care of me and did an awesome job and TJ gave my son a great cut and line-up! What a great experience and relief to find awesome barbers in the '801!' I will be back on a regular basis for sure! Poor experience twice. Both times I was here for almost 2 hours. Spent one of those hours in the chair and the kid still could not cut all the hair on my head to the same length. There were several people that walked out because they were sick of waiting for hours for a simple haircut. Price was extremely high and the barber even asked for a tip. Tyrone at archies is an amazing hair artist. I've taken my son and daughter both in for haircuts and we've loved what he's able to do. When my son asked him for his baseball number shaved into his head i was kind of hesitant, but he made it look amazing! He takes his time, so go when you aren't in a hurry (totally worth it). I just got back home with my brother and mom. My brother has cerebral palsy and is really sensitive to people touching him when he needs to get a shave or a hair cut- so he was super scared to go. Right when we entered, a nice man told us to sign in and have a seat. The environment is super relaxed and all the barbers seem really talented in there skills (just by observance) on some of the cuts I saw them doing. When it was our turn, the sweetest woman with pretty,dark, long hair who took care of him. He didn't even flinch or have to have her stop at all for a break. It was smooth sailing and our barber, she really knows how to take care of her customers! She was asking if he was ok, made small gestures so he knew what he needed to do for his shave. My brother went home extra happy! He wanted a new cut to impress a young lady he works with at the disabilities center! He says he feels very 'handsome' He was too shy to say thank you to our barber because he said she was pretty. But we will be back soon for her and the rest of the staff!! I love this shop. They give good cuts for great prices. Hot towel, warmed shave lather, and straight razor shaves, and finishes. There barbers are mostly all skilled. He'll cut to your specification. The shop is always hopping during peak ours, so get her early or, on an off day and your wait won't be long. There is always good music playing and a great atmosphere here. Archie's is a great barbershop. I've been going there for years now starting at the original Layton shop, and followed Ray to Clinton. She always does good work, as well as being professional and courteous. I even take my 4-year old in when he needs a fresh cut. The first time I came here I brought my client. He is 89 years old and I really wanted to get him to a barber that did hot towel shaves and did his hair and trim him up nicely. Well, I tried another place but they couldn't accommodate him so I brought him here. Archie worked on him herself. She was like a surgeon. She straight razored him and then made sure to double and triple check for stubble and gave him the hot towel treatment he loved,he trimmed his eyebrows, gave him a beautiful cut and treated him so well. When we walked out he stood up taller, and couldn't stop feeling his face. He just kept looking in the mirror and smiling the rest of the day. Ever since this experience he has felt so much better and is more outgoing. Thank you Archie for taking such great care of my friend. The second time I brought my son in last week and had him get a nice fade and straighten his lines. My gift for Mother's day. He looked amazing. She did a fantastic job.
