The Arches Hotel is located very near what is locally known as 'The Arches'. To visitors or non locals, this is basically a busy junction (joining the lower end of Gloucester Road to Cheltenham Road) with a series of arches in which the Avonmouth-Temple Meads train runs over. The actual hotel is located on a road called Cotham Brow which leads off from this point.
Location wise, The Arches Hotel is a bit far from town for it to be labelled 'central'. Unless you don't mind walking, it's best to get a bus (which does run ever 5mins) to town which would only take 10minutes maximum.
The hotel is rated 3* by the AA which I reckon is justified. Rooms are cute, quaint and very old English but they aren't very big. They have everything you could want for a weekend get-away, but don't expect The Ritz. The receptionist was very knowledgeable about the local tourist attractions and they had some handy maps and vouchers at the front desk.
Rooms start at £35 for a single for one night with breakfast included. read more
