It saddens me to say that my experience today was extremely frustrating.
I had an appointment for brakes on my wife's car. I purchased the brakes and rotors ahead of time. I was given a quote for the brakes at 125.00 and 100.00 per axle. My appointment was at 8:00 a.m. At 10:30, I was given a call and told that the vehicle was finished. When paying the bill, I was charged an extra 40.00 due to purchasing the parts and so now "there was less of a profit." My wife started the vehicle and the brakes were making a crunching noise, so she turned around and went back. I too went back. The vehicle was not driven after the brakes were completed.
The car was put back on the rack and checked over. The mechanic pulled it out of the garage and said it was done. My wife asked him to drive it. He drove it and back to the garage again it went. By now, it is noon and we are both angry for the lack of professional care to the car, the change in price, and the additional time spent waiting. Yes, I finally left with the car after 1 p.m. after a third time on the lift.
During this time we were offered the price difference returned and an alignment in the future. There may have been something else as well, however, I declined. It's not always about the money. I wanted the repair done right so that it would be safe for my wife. There is no excuse for not test driving a car after brakes have been installed.
Last month, I had an issue with the same mechanic not putting a cover back on after an oil change. I had to go back for that as well. The filter is on the top and the cover under the car didn't need to come off.
Sorry, but I won't be back. It deeply concerns me that this will just continue in the future. I wish Archer Alignment well.
P.S. I am posting the same day as to make sure the accuracy of my concerns.
