At my first visit, I explained my symptoms, but I was told that nothing appeared to be wrong. I trusted that assessment. A few months later, the pain became unbearable, so I returned. During that visit, the X-rays clearly showed that I had a missing filling on the very tooth that had been causing me pain. Instead of carefully reviewing the X-rays or listening to my concerns, the dentist immediately dismissed my pain by saying it was probably because I have braces. The problem with that explanation is that the X-ray clearly showed the missing filling. I had to point it out myself. As a patient, I shouldn't have to convince my dentist to look at what's right in front of them. I came in because I was in excruciating pain, and instead of feeling heard or cared for, I felt dismissed and rushed. What bothered me even more was the attitude I received after I questioned the explanation. Rather than taking a moment to reevaluate the X-rays or acknowledge my concerns, the interaction became defensive. Patients should never feel like they're being difficult simply for advocating for themselves. Dentistry is about more than fixing teeth--it's about listening to patients, taking their concerns seriously, and providing compassionate care. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. Because of the lack of attentiveness, professionalism, and compassion I experienced, I have decided to take my business elsewhere. I sincerely hope this office takes patient concerns more seriously in the future so others don't leave feeling as unheard as I did.

This practice is exactly what I hoped for: - No gimmicks like offering customers potential awards for a 5-star review. - No tricks like saying they accept insurance, while they are not on that provider's 'preferred' list. - No whacky photographers taking pictures of your teeth just as you show up. - No gimmicky office tours with gifts for nice reviews. - No tricks to make make a person spend more money than they have to. Yes, those things and more happened at another dental practice, so I was hesitant. Bogey Hills Dental was great to me. The Dr. and staff were extremely efficient and made the work seem like they could do it with their eyes closed. It was a real relief to find this practice. Needless to say, I had a bit of a meltdown! I was going to be in St. Louis for almost a week with several events planned, and the thought of spending that time with part of my front tooth missing was pretty upsetting. I started calling dentists near my mother-in-law's home, but most offices were either closed, couldn't see me, or couldn't get me in for a few days...then I called Dr. Stallings' office. From the moment they answered the phone, everyone was incredibly kind, friendly, and accommodating. Their office closed at 5:00, and because I was still driving in from Atlanta, the absolute earliest I could get there was 4:35. Without hesitation, they told me to come in and that they would take care of me. I walked through the door at exactly 4:35, and they were ready and waiting. They immediately took X-rays, evaluated my tooth, and got to work repairing it--and it looks great! What really touched me was realizing that the entire staff had stayed past closing to help someone they had never even met before. They could easily have told me to come back the next morning, but instead they went out of their way to make sure I didn't have to spend my visit worrying about a broken front tooth. The professionalism and quality of care were outstanding, but the kindness and willingness to accommodate me during such a stressful situation meant even more. I am so incredibly grateful to Dr. Stallings and his entire staff. If I lived in St. Louis, I would absolutely want this to be my dental office. I hate going to dentist and I thought I had found a good one. At her last practice things were…read moregreat. Things would get fixed and it never felt like you were being a bother. At this new practice it always feels rushed and the treatment reflects that. I've basically begged for help for a year over multiple appointments to deal with teeth pain and bad taste I had around implants. Multiple x rays were taken across two trips from what I recall, and kept being told I was all good. Eventually I had to assume they didn't know what they were talking about or just didn't want to deal with it so I went out for other opinions because they just wouldn't help me get to the cause. And this wasn't severe pain and I wasn't looking for pain treatment, I just wanted to fix the tooth and get rid of the taste I knew wasn't right. After seeing another dentist, an oral surgeon, and a prosthodontist I can assure you there was a lot wrong for quite awhile. Some of these other dentist have much nicer x rays and technology but they said even with older machines it should have been clear. But because I had waited too long to see them I am now looking at implant removal, maybe two of them, and then bone grafts to rebuild and then hopefully a reinstall of implant(s). I'm seeing multiple specialist because some want to pull one implant and some want to pull both because of how bad it got. Then I have to explain I haven't been ignoring my teeth, have been going in for cleaning every 6 months, and have specifically brought up there area in question for over a year and for some reason, the dental professional I put my faith and money into, steered me completely wrong and then wouldn't even return my calls since all this. Don't worry though I paid that last bill you were able to send even though my calls and voicemails were ignored. Do yourself a favor, protect your teeth and your own wellbeing and see someone who has the time, skills, and technology to get yourself treated correctly.

Since I had a full exam within the last 3 years, my insurance wouldn't cover it fully and it cost me $118 for the visit. I'm not upset about this because it makes sense that as a new patient, I would need to establish care and get a full examination. Just make sure to check with your insurance if they will cover a full exam so there aren't any surprises. I only had to wait 10 minutes before being called back by the dental hygienist. She was very kind and explained everything before she did it. She had a soft hand as well. When she was done with my cleaning, I didn't have to wait long to be seen by the doctor. As a patient with minimal dental issues, I had zero complaints about my appointment as a new patient.
