Activate is like getting dropped in the middle of a video game, but it's not just for gamers. Think like floor is lava type games, having to sneak by lasers, etc. You can make a reservation for an hour or an hour and a half, and it's not expensive at all, especially for the quality. Everyone gets a wristband that you can use to sign into games and that it uses to track you. Once inside, there are several rooms you can move between in whatever order/however you want. Each room has a bunch of games to choose from, and you can either compete against your group or work together as a team. The only downside is that it's a maximum of I think 5 people playing in one room at a time, so you'd have to split up if your group is bigger. The games are unique, fun, and you definitely work up a sweat. There are some games that are purely athletic, some that are more thinking/strategy, and some that are a fun combination of both. Activate is perfect for a friend group, date, family, team function, or really anything. You also create an account, so it will keep your points across visits. Plus there's a free Photo Booth! I just went and I already can't wait to go back.

Activate is basically a big arcade where you use your body to play the games. There's some more active games than others, but you'll definitely get a workout in here. The check in process is pretty quick, just make sure you fill out the waiver and make your account prior to showing up. Once you arrive, they'll check you in and give each person a player wristband as well as a wristband for a locker for your stuff. You'll link the wristband to your account and then you're good to go back and play. When you go in the back, it's basically a big dimly lit room with lots of game rooms. You walk around and it has the name of the game room. Each room has multiple different game modes you can play in it. Each member of your group scans their watch and then you choose which game mode you want to play and then enter. If someone is in there already it'll have them finish their game and then kick them out and it'll be your turn. They also have instructions on how to play each game on the screen. Once you enter the room, they don't really give you any instructions on how to play the game, so it sometimes took us a few tries before we got the game down. If it's busy and people are waiting for the game, it'll only let you play 1 round before it'll make you exit so the other people waiting can play so definitely try to go during the week or during slower times so you have the possibility of staying in the same room longer and playing games continuously. If no one is waiting it'll let you play on forever basically. It is pretty dark in the game rooms/walk around area so if you have bad eyesight just a heads up on that. Also if you're sensitive to bright lights there are some rooms with super bright lights. All in all I had a great time here, my friends and I did 1 hour and it was perfect, but if you're going during a busier time I recommend doing the 90 minute session.

They have a great Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and we got here just in time to order a couple beers and sit and relax. The beer was served ice cold and super quick despite it being a bit busy when we got here. The server was very friendly and we were able to close our tab. We were going to get food here but seeing the fact that they charge almost $25 for a regular cheeseburger we definitely decided against it. I liked how nice and refreshing the beer was and how friendly the staff here is so I will come back again for more drinks and maybe try out the virtual games they have to offer in the future but that would definitely be on the lower end of things I want to try when it comes to this place.
