Facilities in the station are good, as well as offering petrol, they have a 24/7 store (although at night you'll be served at the window) as well as offering Waitrose Products, Costa Coffee machine and an Amazon Locker. The prices are pretty high, especially for food, they do have Waitrose branded products despite not being an official store, but prices of these are in excess of 20% more, and sometimes up to 50% more so the pricing is ridiculous, again there's no need to pay those prices unless you're in a rush or calling at an awkward time, with a huge Sainsbury's store just across the road. The staff didn't seem too friendly, he just stared at me and ignored me while I had problems using the coffee machine with no acknowledgement. 3* - Pretty modern, clean fuel station but with rude staff and expensive food and petrol prices, even for a petrol/gas station, there is much better but Shell on Regents Road is OK, especially for the usual Amazon Lockers and coffee machine (when it works)

Smallish shop carrying newspapers and a few basics for those just popping by to fill up. Jet wash style car wash available too. All in all a basic no frills petrol station.

Charnock Richard Services is a fairly nice motorway services, it is located just off the M6, three…read moremiles away from Chorley town centre and is operated by Welcome Break. It is split across Northbound and Southbound, the Northbound is the larger of the two Here you will find TWO different Starbucks locations as well as a Little Waitrose and Partners, WHSmith, Subway and a Ramada Hotel in a separate building. The Southbound side is a little smaller but still has good facilities including a Starbucks, WHSmith and a Post box, with a large parking area and petrol station (very overpriced petrol) on both sides. On the bridge connecting the two, there is a KFC and Burger King - so plenty of choice across both services for fast food. The bridge is fairly modern, it has the benefit of being fully inside so you do not need to leave the service station and go back out again, do be advised that the Northbound side does NOT have an elevator, it has an upwards escalator, and a staircase. The southbound side however has an upwards escalator, and an elevator - It was a little odd how they only had escalators in one direction and an elevator/lift on one side, but at least I got my exercise for the day! I always visit service stations on Christmas Day for something to do, they always seem to have basic facilities here including at least Starbucks and one of their stores open, alongside the usual bathroom/shower facilities. Fairly clean and modern, nothing too exciting but well worth calling in as a stop-off point along your journey. 4*

There's also a KFC, Burger King, WHSmith, and a Games room. 2 hours free parking and disabled bays right next to the entrance. A petrol station and a Day's Hotel are at one side.

It is pretty expensive for fuel and even food, with the Subway here costing more than I've ever experienced before for extras (such as double meat or an extra filling) The Spar shop is okay, the stock is a little limited and prices are a tad expensive, as you'd expect from a place like this. I like the separate parking area which makes it easy if you don't want to buy fuel, and instead, want to just go into the shop or access one of the food businesses or Amazon Lockers, compared to other petrol stations which don't really have designated areas. 3* - Average service station, I wouldn't come here if I had much of a choice but it is OK, and useful in its' town centre location.

The staff seemed pretty friendly in both the service station and the Subway inside, the shop was a tad expensive and the selection was slightly worse than other Shell garages but was still ample considering it is only a petrol station at the end of the day and a large Tesco store is only nearby, meaning you'll only be buying food here if in an emergency at night/in a rush so you pay for the convenience. The building was relatively clean, they also claim to have Amazon Lockers here but they do appear to be slightly hidden, I couldn't find them but they can be accessed 24/7 like the main store, which is handy. 3* - The location is very good for the town centre and the motorway, the service station isn't too bad.

The petrol is relatively cheap, usually a penny more expensive than the Tesco just round the corner. There are about 10 pumps and also have HGV filling pumps. If you fancy your car needs a clean there are two handwash places with hoses ranging from £1.50 just for shampoo and cold water to about a fiver for hot shampoo, brush wax and rinse. Also there is a Vaccum for 50p for 4 minutes or £1 for 8. Inside the shop tey sell most essentials like milk, bread newpapers and magazines but is quite expensive. The staff are freindly and your served almost straight away.
