Although such counseling is never…read moregood and pleasant I will convey actual events surrounding it here and you can be the judge about somers itself. Wife booked sessions with Laura Craig.I willingly went. After about three sessions I was booked for a 4th on my own and showed up 10 min late due to traffic. I met the receptionist in the lobby and she looked in the book and Said I did bot have an appointment.stunned I called her cell phone. No answer. I contemplated just going in upstairs into her office, but instead took a photo of the unattended schedule book at front desk to show there was no apt for me. To this day I regret not going up. That night wife calls up furious that I missed apt. I told her it was messed up. Next week apt I show the doctor picture of schedule book. She begins to panic and spends 15 minutes investigating. Then she comes back and shows me another apt book with my name saying the receptionist had the wrong book and and I needed to erase those pictures right away. That was her major concern. That said next session my wife and her were pushing me to take anxiety medication. I dug in saying that every spouse wants their other half to change after 10 years. It turns out that my spouse was highly successful while taking meds. I did not know this until counseling. So I said "taking pills is not an option for me at this point. You have been listening to us for weeks and what I want from you is a list of 4 exercises or items we can do at the end if this session" She replied " I would not want to do that because if it did not work you would blame me" lady! Our marriage is on life support, there is nothing you can do to hurt it. So we agree to get me a male counselor that she she refers. Two weeks go by and no answer...turns out that the referred Dr did not even have the comnon courtesy to reply back saying they were not taking new patients. Finally she refers me to Dr somers who owns the practice. I go to the booking and they ask if I am a new patient. I say no I am seeing Laura Craig one of their people..,they say that does not matter you're a new patient and have to wait 2 months for an initial consultation! Guess what???? End of my beloved wife's patience. You be the judge.

She prescribes medication for my depression and also for attention and concentration. She is extremely caring and very capable. For a period of time I was unable to fall asleep due to pain. Heidi worked with me to find the right sleeping medication that made it possible for me to get some sleep. She really tries to do the best for each patient and, from my experience, she succeeds. I highly recommend her. I have had no other dealings with any other persons at Somers Trust Psychological.

NuLife has been a tremendous part of my recovery journey. The combination of group therapy,…read morepsychiatric care, and TMS treatment provided me with the support and tools I needed during one of the most difficult period of my life. What makes this program special is the sense of community. The daily check-ins and group discussions offer honest peer feedback, different perspectives, and plenty of opportunities for growth. I've made meaningful connections with my peers, and those relationships have been just as valuable as the clinical treatment itself. Rebecca is an exceptional clinician and leader whose compassion, insight, and ability to connect with clients have had a lasting impact on me. Dr. Azi has also been incredibly supportive throughout my treatment. The team genuinely cares about their clients and creates an environment where people can do the hard work of recovery while still finding moments to laugh. As the unofficial comic relief of the group, I've learned that healing and humor can coexist. In fact, one of my favorite contributions to the program was a phrase that seems to have stuck: "Do it afraid." Recovery isn't about waiting until you're fearless--it's about moving forward anyway. NuLife helped me do exactly that. I'm incredibly grateful for my experience at NuLife and would highly recommend the program to anyone seeking support for their mental health or recovery. THE END

I'll be honest, at first, I didn't think therapy was for me. Working in the helping field, I told…read moremyself I "should have it together." That mindset didn't last long once I started working with Wendy at Mending Minds. Wendy has a way of meeting you exactly where you're at, no pressure, no judgment, just real, genuine support. She helped me break through a lot of that initial resistance and actually lean into the process. The space she creates feels safe, grounded, and honest, which made it easier to open up in ways I hadn't before. What stands out most is how real she is. Not robotic, not textbook, just human. She listens, challenges when needed, and helps you connect the dots without ever making you feel less than. If you're on the fence about therapy, especially if you're someone who's used to being the helper, I can't recommend Wendy enough. She changed the game for me.

Geri creates a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where I always felt heard and respected. Her ability to listen carefully, provide thoughtful guidance, and offer practical coping strategies has had a meaningful positive impact on my life. I have taken steps I never would have without her support. I believe Geri brings a unique perspective to her patients through her experience as a Gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. One of my greatest challenges was managing chronic pain. She validated the daily struggles I faced and empowered me with the confidence to explore strategies and treatments that could improve my quality of life. I especially appreciate Geri's patience, empathy, and commitment to her patients.

There are a number of professionals working from this office and every single one of them, especially the two that I've worked with directly as well as the office admin are absolutely wonderful! From what I can tell, each of the staff members specialize in a few different areas of focus so that every need/issue is addressed. Being in my early 30's and not having gone to speak with someone since college, I did feel a bit apprehensive about calling to make my first appointment but once I heard the EXTREMELY sweet and pleasant voice on the other end of the line, it was as if it were meant to be. I've never felt more welcomed and comfortable! All the way down to the color of the walls and the soothing music in the living room-like waiting area... Just walking through the door gives the feeling of calm. It's unfortunate that there's such a stigma surrounding "going to a counselor", honestly, going to Woodland Professional Associates has been the most INTERESTING and thought provoking experience I've ever had! I look forward to LEARNING about myself and seeing things from a number of different views (different ways to look at things) and most of all, the reciprocated meaningful conversation! This office has changed my life! I think that EVERYONE should see a counselor at some point in their life, it's almost crazy (hee hee, pun) NOT TO! If you're looking for more than just the stereo-typical therapist visit and you'd really like to connect with a warm and caring, down to earth person... THIS is the place to do so!

When I hit a low and missed an appointment, I was never contacted by phone or email, simply sent a $90 missed appointment fee. Some therapists subscribe to the bootstraps philosophy of "just be more positive!" when it comes to treating mental illness, and I don't know how they get away with it. Worse, though, is the total lack of empathy evident in NEVER contacting a patient with a diagnosed social anxiety disorder and depression when they miss an appointment to see if they're okay - except to ask them for money.

I don't care if they're pharma scumbags or holistic therapists.. At the end of the day no one cares about your issues and paying to talk to someone is something I feel ashamed for doing. One counselor named Blair Ambrose was very quick to get me out the door when a session ended, I know you can't drag sessions on, understandable. But if you have a career centered on helping people, you figure you want to make sure people are ok. She also was going to charge me for a late fee for something that was abrupt and out of my control and I gave her nearly a 2 hour heads up that I might not make it.
