Our purpose today was to look at some of their products and do some comparing to see exactly what we needed for a future project we would be doing. Our family has been using the supplies that are sold here for sometime. We have purchased landscaping rock, aka chop, along with mulch, flagstone and crushed rock with screenings. We have done many home-improvement projects over the years and we always enjoy the fabulous customer service that we get each time we visit Minick materials. In fact today, the staff was so sweet and kind as to give each of my children a gift from under their Christmas tree! My youngest daughter felt that gesture was extremely thoughtful and all were so grateful. The pros: Excellent products, top rate customer service, extremely professional employees, highly knowledgeable staff, prices are very reasonable and finally they make obtaining what you need hassle free. They do offer delivery but we have always used our trailer to pick up our purchase. I have even sent my landscaper over to have him pick items up and with a simple phone call I can pay over the phone so that he can deliver them to my house. That's the good, unfortunately the soil was so hot i won't be able to plant for who knows how long, but it wont be this season. Over 50 seedlings with no soil to put them in. Their solution, buy inexpensive potting soil to top off the ammonia rich soil until it completes its composting cycle. More expense. VERY DISAPPOINTED. VERY!

Actually, I called Sam last fall. He advised that since the grass was going dormant, there was a…read morerisk that the soil brought in would wash away during the winter. So I waited until March. Sam came out the next day, walked the property with me and gave me his recommendation. He advised that I scalp the lawn and remove the clippings. He called a couple of days later and sent the guys out. They put a complete cover on the front yard and filled in ruts and sunken sprinkler trenches on the back. I watched the guys and spoke with them about the work. They did a nice job and I am pleased. I would have liked to have had some of the back completely covered, but couldn't quite swing it. Maybe next year. Anyway, I thought it was a good value. They have the right tools for the job and made it look easy. I've done dirt work myself in the past and it's not easy to do by yourself. I know everyone will have different results but I think I got what I paid for. This is a new house and although the builder did a fair job of leveling, the house was on the market for a while and some ruts appeared. I'll wait for the grass to come in for a final conclusion, but so far looks good.

We are really pleased with how it turned out. But, what made me want to come write a review was where Sam went above and beyond. He was VERY considerate of our neighbors and made sure not to track dirt/mud through their lawn or driveway to get to our backyard. We knew that he'd have to take a fence panel down to get into the backyard, and that meant we would have to dig up two small trees in front of the fence before Sam's crew arrived. Of course, we forgot to do that, but it was no problem with Sam. He very carefully removed the two trees and even though we said to just leave them at the side of the house for us to re-plant, he re-planted both with much more care than we would have shown ourselves. He made sure we were happy with the job before he left. I didn't know Sam before a random google search, but I've been very pleased and have already referred Sam to others and will continue to do so.
