To the Staff at Arbor Trace Assisted Living in Richmond, IN, Words cannot fully express my gratitude for all you did to help my mother during her final weeks on this earth. For families searching for an assisted living facility in Richmond, I highly recommend Arbor Trace. My story began when my sister and I were looking for a place for our parents--one that would allow some independence while also permitting them to bring their beloved cat. After visiting several locations, we chose Arbor Trace. Our father had been on the rehab side a few years prior, and we remembered his positive experience. Fast forward to a time when my father needed to be moved to the rehab side due to a medical issue. This allowed my mother to easily walk over and visit him without leaving the building. More recently, when my mother collapsed and we made the decision to place her on hospice care, the incredible nursing and support staff at Arbor Trace agreed to let her return to her "home" in assisted living for her final weeks. This allowed my father to stay by her side, and it gave me the privilege of spending those precious days with her in her apartment. The care from the nurses, nursing assistants, dietary staff, housekeeping--truly everyone--was exemplary. While staffing shortages are a challenge across all healthcare settings, I wish I could wave a magic wand to ensure that every staff member is paid well and given the support they need to provide the best possible care. Despite these challenges, the staff at Arbor Trace in Richmond provided extraordinary compassion and professionalism during a difficult time for our family. Thank you for everything. When our father had a stroke last year, we needed to find a place that could care for him while he recovered since all family members lived out of town. He told us that if he ever needed to be somewhere if he was unable to care for himself, it would be at Arbor Trace. Fortunately, there was a temporary respite room open. The entire staff at Arbor Trace treated our father as if he was their own father. He was able to receive the right therapy's so he could relearn how to communicate with us and how to care for himself. Excellent rehab staff. Putting a loved family member into Assisted Living is not easy for anyone to do. The staff worked as a team with all of us. We cannot thank the Arbor Trace staff enough for the care and respect they showed our father and our family during this difficult time of transition. read more

Recently had a two week inpatient stay with Arbor Trace following surgery. Now I am in outpatient therapy. The entire staff has been extremely helpful and caring. Very professional and at the same time, very personable. Check-in was handled very well. The facility is clean, bright and airy. My highest recommendation. read more

In late December of last year my parents moved to Arbor Trace. My father had a room in the nursing wing and my mother moved to an assisted living apartment. We chose Arbor Trace because both of my parents could live under one roof with each of their individual needs being met. Sadly my father passed away in January of this year, leaving my mom feeling alone in a new community with new people and a new life to figure out. The staff has been very attentive to her, keeping an "eye" on her as she figures out her new life. They encourage her to eat in the dining room - when she would rather just hibernate. They come in and sit and talk with her when she is needing a friend and an ear. After dad passed away mom had a very bad fall due to blood pressure issues. Everyone has been extra attentive to her as once again she figures out to live with her new physical limitations. Carla has been a blessing to us as we transitioned mom and dad to their new home, listening to our worries, concerns, adjustment heartaches and successes! When we have came to a spot where we have felt "stuck" she has always came up with a plan B for us. She even helped mom put in some shelves in her bathroom! I would highly suggest giving Arbor Trace a call if you are looking for a new home for your parents. I know that the staff at Arbor Trace has grown to love my mom. My Mother, who is will be 93 later this year, made decision after my Father passed away to sell their home and relocate to Assisted Living at Arbor Trace In Richmond, IN. Although I really wanted her to move into our home, I thank God she made the choice she made. She has loves it! She is so happy, and the care she has received has been superior. The last year, with the impact from COVID-19, everyone has suffered through all the changes of wearing masks, social distancing, eating alone and many other obstacles, but with the House of Heroes at Arbor Trace, my Mother has come through all of it in flying colors and we are now ready for our first face to face visit in a long time. I personally want to thank each and every member of the Arbor Trace staff for what they have done for my Mother, keeping me informed and providing assistance as needed, working with my other family members, and of course, working with all of the other patients in their care. My parents have been very happy at Arbor Trace. I found the staff to be very helpful. My parents were on a wait list for almost year. The facility always has a wait list because it provides such good care. It's where people want to be. Carla Denney, Director of Residential Marketing went out of her way to help my parents transition to assisted living at Arbor Trace. She was in constant communication with us concerning my parents position on the waiting list. Staff has been wonderful to deal with and I highly recommend Arbor Trace. read more

Due to the fact that I was out of state I decided to use the web and the phone to try to locate a facility for my relative that lived in Richmond. I narrowed it down to 3 facilities. Arbor Trace being one. In trying to keep this brief. I will say my interaction was almost combative with their marketing person carla, and at that time I could not tell you why that was happening, it totally took me by surprise. I decided to leave a message for her supervisor Kerri so I could get the information I needed, she never called me back. I then thought the only person that could help me was the facility administrator a mr Buzzard. I left a message for him, and he never called me back. I will tell you that the other two places were off the chart helpful and very easy to talk to. To this day I really do not totally know what their charges and other important information are. I did find out later that they were full and had a waiting list. For me that explained why they showed no care and concern. Again for me if a place shows that to a potential customer how would my relative be treated when the lights are off. read more

In Oct. 2015 my Father suffered a brain bleed and after a week in Methodist Hosp. in Indpls. and 3 weeks in Reid Health Rehab was still in need of more rehab. We started looking for a place for more rehab and also possibly something long term so they could be together after he finished rehab. This was a very hard decision to try to make because they have always been so independent and still was convinced they could still do it. Arbor Trace was the first place that we went to check out. We were welcomed with open arms and open hearts and after talking with Carla and Angie for approximately an hour we were taken on a tour of some of the Assisted living apartments and all that was available to them. We fell in Love with all the employees we ran into and all of the hospitality that we were shown. We were totally blown away with all the feeling of Love and caring. They introduced us to many of the residence and we ask them what they thought of the facility and it was nothing but praise. We were immediately drawn into the atmosphere and we had no desire to even go look at any other Assisted Living Facility. 16 months later we have never had a second thought about making the right decision. The staff is very professional but their hearts are so full of Love and Caring that you immediately feel like part of the Family. There is always an ear to listen when your heart is heavy or a story to tell. Sadly we just lost our Dad last month March 1st and our Mom is in rehab right now from her recent hospital stay but all of the staff are working real hard to get Mom strong enough to get back to her Assisted Living Apartment and trying to recover from the loss of Husband. They are so amazing at all the support and Love they show each and every person in their care. It is so comforting to know that your Loved ones are so well taken care of in the hands of People that care.
