I've talked to others who have said the same. Talking to 7-8 people after cataract surgery, it's an average "meh." THE WORST OF ALL? At last visit the comment from the tech was, "Oh, you don't have glasses yet?" I said no, I get my frames online and order lenses at Walmart. I said, " So I'll take my prescription with me please." She said, "Oh, we don't do that." I said, "After 5k and all the testing you have done each time, and I can't get my prescription?" "No, that's not our policy." Now spending another $85 at Walmart to get my prescription. If I have to drive 100 miles to get away from Whitewater Eye Center's monopoly in this geographical area, I will.

After my exam when I came out to pick out glasses was told everything was verified and I would owe nothing. In SEPTEMBER I receive a bill for $411 saying if not paid in 10 days i would be turned over to collection! I called and was told they can't bill 2 insurances. Called the insurance they said that's not true. Called their separate billing office and was told it should have been billed to both and they would have to submit it now to get a denial due to timely filing and write it off. Called them back, get a different excuse and they refuse to bill. Now I have to pay because their billing department messed up and it took them 8 months to figure out! Now I have to send the insurance after them.

What a beautiful office and eyeglass store!!…read more We were about 800 miles from home and a lens popped out of my prescription sunglasses at the Pro Football Hall of Fame yesterday. I found the loose screw and put it in the case with my broken glasses. I stopped into Dr. Tavel's store to see if they could repair them. The lovely optician fixed them for me in about 1 minute and would not take a penny from me. What a kind hearted person in a beautiful business and lovely store. Everything in here was nice and the staff were very kind.
