I'm an alumni here from around '09 and I had gone to the school that was along Covenant Ave, across from the church. My experience here negatively affected me for the rest of my life. It had a profound effect on my relationships and connections with other people. I had become scared to reach out to other people and could not maintain the connections I had with them. I find myself, almost 20 years later, struggling and stuck in this place. I've tried moving on, but I just haven't The time I had spent here were some of the worst years of my life and so profoundly lonely. I don't have any glowing reviews for the teachers or many of the students who were here at the time. I reflect and I can't honestly say the teachers care. Hell, I'm pretty sure some of them really don't like children. In fact, I remember a teacher complaining about how immature we were...we couldn't have been more than 14 years old. They were particularly interested in the social life between students and seemed to find pleasure in poking and teasing at points that weren't their business at all. Thank God that particular teacher retired the following year. Then there was the Math teacher, Mr. DeRosa. I really don't know what his issue was. Often, when he interacted with parents, he'd mention how he used to be a lawyer. At the time I thought, "who cares? you're a teacher now. just teach?" Only years later did I realize that this was more than likely a veiled threat. Please, you need to understand, we were all poor and struggling. Any time away from work would stress our parents on making ends meet and just surviving. This was a stress we children felt all too well. It was not uncommon to hear a parent complain to a child about making ends meet. Now I find myself here, on a cycle of struggling and trying, exhausted and questioning everything I've ever done. I you're a parent looking to send your kid to a good school, get out of the city if you can. I honestly can't recommend any school there. If you have child in the school now and no other choice, your child needs to trust you and you have to be vigilant.

The teachers are scared of their own PRINCIPAL. it's unbelievable, it's a money hungry school. The principal will tell you your family is a disgrace if they're not fluent in English..once said to me by Sister Ann Veronica. She yells and taunts the children who attend, really....is that what Jesus would do? Don't think so. If you're considering going here for the "education" I suggest going to a charter school if you can or going to a local public school because it'll be the same material your kids will learn for no cost at all! This school gave my brother white hairs when he was just in fourth grade because of how condescending the teachers can be! They give you ATLEAST ONE homework assignment on EACH subject every DAY! your kids will go home and will be stuck doing homework for 4 hours or more everyday!! It's very traumatic especially for the younger grades.
