This is hands down my favorite dog park. Now with that being said, I'm giving it only 4 stars…read morebecause of the lack of a clean water for the dogs to run in. Sure, the creek is right there, but it's not in the dog park. But honestly, why quibble? This place is great! Each loop on the side sandy/icy track (depending on the season) is a 1/2 mile trek and a great way to get your way steps in as your hound does the same. Crowd wise it always varies. I've been there early where I'm the only one and the hound is running everywhere sniffing and pissing on all as he gets a sensory overload. Other times not only is the hound running everywhere sniffing and pissing on all, he's also playing with the other hounds that are there. And he yes, he's getting his ass sniffing on. There are two gates. trash cans at each location. Plus sometimes cans are located around the main loop along with that occasional picnic table where us out of share humans can sit. Water is brought in by volunteers (from home during the summer months) along with mailboxes situated to easily grab a plastic bag to pick up after your hound. But honestly, the main reason this place is so amazing (s/b a five star review but we don't every asshole showing up) is the fact that there are volunteers who work with the county, donate personal resources, along with their own time to make this place so great. Don't believe me? Go to their FB page as there is a real community about this place. Oh! One last thing. When it's cold, and that wind blows from the west across the open field and where you walk, you will feel it. Also, there are times when that same loop can be incredibly icy so be careful.

The park itself is great, they have a great system of making sure all of the dogs have enough water with a watering station, lots of water jugs, and even a water wagon to help transport the full jugs to the park. Make sure you grab a full water jug when you go walking around the park to help out and fill up the various bowls around the walking path. There are also lots of grocery bags in the mail boxes!

I was in the area (for a Yelp Elite experience, actually lol) but it was a gorgeous day outside…read more(aka, forties in February) so I wanted to make sure I soaked up some of the sunshine in the afternoon. Peeking at this place on Google maps it didn't look like much, but I gave it a shot; I'm quite glad I did! Part of why I'd been unsure was because it does have a relatively small footprint of the landscape (it doesn't even encompass the entire lake, as many houses have backyards around more than half the shore... boo). But, they made up for it with a really nice visitor center and art installations! Honestly, I'd say this place wouldn't be half as good without the outdoor art walk; I really enjoyed discovering all the unique and fun sculptures along the path. It meant I got a much more engaged and lengthy experience; I don't know if their longest path was much more than a mile's distance, but because of the sculptures I kept venturing off the paved path to check them out up close (and take photos and selfies with each)! It was fun. There seemed to be two parking lots. The one near the visitor center was pretty large and seemed to be necessary; there were quite a lot of visitors there when I was, plus a school bus! Most of the visitors seemed to be there to enjoy some skating around out on the frozen lake, but others were walking the trail. Inside the visitor center were bathrooms, including a family restroom, water fountains, including a water bottle refill station, cute little trinkets to buy, a cafe with beverages and bakery snacks, a cozy seating area, lots of rooms for community events, a board advertising said community events for the next couple months, and an art exhibit. I was grateful for the easy access to bathrooms and water! Just outside the visitor center was one of the most adorable little free libraries I've ever seen, nestled inside a mushroom-like sculpture! All in all, definitely worth checking out. Unless you lived nearby, you probably wouldn't go too repeatedly (I think the indoor art exhibit changes seasonally, but the outdoor one has been installed awhile... one of the plaques read 2018), but it's great for a one-off or occasional visit!

I was very excited when I saw there was a new dog park located within miles of my home!…read more Today was our first visit to this dog park - and I am impressed. It is much nicer & much bigger than I was expecting. You have to keep in mind that this dog park is located right in the middle of the city. The area surrounding the park is mixed residential/industrial with train tracks running along the back part of the park. The park itself is really nice! Unlike most dog parks, this one has a lot of grass! It feels like a big open prairie! My dogs really seemed to love how wide open it is + every surface wasn't piled high with wood chips (which seem to hurt their paws a bit). There are tons of water dishes around to use & like most dog parks, it's best to bring water for your own dog/s + some to share. There were balls available (although none of my dogs play fetch). Benches + chairs to sit in. The fence was high enough to keep my rather large Foxhound inside (he's quite an escape artist - so good/high fences are important to me). Poop bags are supplied + there is a garbage can located inside the park... I just really liked this park...and I will definitely be going back here with my pups...
