This is my absolute favourite fish shop in Gloucester. They stock a massive range of tropical,…read moremarine and coldwater fish of all different types. They are well displayed and appear to be well looked after. The prices are very reasonable - they quite often have multibuy deals on, so you get a lot of fish for your money. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable. I believe that if you want something that they don't stock, they are able to order it in for you, which does take a few weeks but is well worth the wait. The shop does get busy at weekends, but they are well staffed and the service is always fast. They also sell a huge range of aquariums, foods and other fish keeping paraphenalia.

Paul took time to measure the filter I wanted so I know it would fit into the housing and he spoke to Celia who so kindly offered to drop the filter off to me as I didn't have transport to collect and I needed the filter the same day. You can't beat that for service. The new filter is now fitted and working perfectly.

Received my order yesterday (07-02-23)which was sent on (06-02-23) which consisted of 1kg of frozen river shrimp 2 x 500g whitebait and 3 bags of large bloodworm and when i opened the package the frozen river shrimp had defrosted, the whitebait had defrosted and the live bloodworm were dead , i emailed yesterday explaining what has happened and then was asked the send proof which i did , then got a phone call today from a lovely lady who was trying to resolve this issue and her manager basically said the food is gamma radiated and therefore can be refrozen . But im not risking re freezing food that i would be feeding to very expensive and long lived fish which im sure a lot of other people would feel the same about and although they agreed to refund the dead bloodworm , they refused to refund or replace the so called "frozen" food which wasnt very frozen at all , its safe to say i will never be ordering from them again!!!

The shop has, of course, changed a lot since then but then as well as now can be described as offering some of the broadest range of aquarium products of any small aquatics shop I have seen. The range is very specialised to tropical fishkeeping and the long experience of the owners shows in the choice of brands (i.e. reliability and appropriateness is valued over price) Most of the staff have been there for many years and are very helpful and knowledgeable. Newer / younger staff seem to have been well trained. The quality of the fish and aquatic plants is high (I can only speak for the freshwater fish, they sell marine as well) and there's a good range of live food available. The shop can get very busy at the weekend, but it is always well staffed; how many small shops have 3-4 people on hand?
