Automatic 5 stars just cause I was an idiot and beached my jetski on a sandbar and two gals came…read moreout and helped me drag it to deeper water. Derp! I should have seen from the lighter coloration of the water there even with my non-prescription sunglasses so water splashed. Somehow I thought a sandbar couldn't extend so far, nearby fishermen only up to their knees be damned. The sandbar was way wide and there was just no dragging it to deep enough water with my skinny arms. And gunning the motor is useless if it's not submerged in water. I was a jetski novice, obviously, and don't know jack about it but now at least a little more than what I did. The jetskis here top out around 45 mph though just for an instant I did hit 47. Midafternoon isn't the best choice I learned as the Indian River tends to be choppier than in the morning. This didn't bother me much on the way out as I was going with the current but the waves will be rougher on you against the current. And they seemed even rougher still after my sandbar humiliation. I actually found that the ride is the roughest around 30 mph or so and if you come closer to topping it out up in the 40 mphs you'll get a smoother ride. At least if you're going in the same direction as the waves or that was my experience anyway. I rode about 6 miles from the docks and even got to check out a private little island in the river taking a little dip to cool off since I was pretty wet anyway. You might think that's where I beached my jetski but you'd be wrong. Too easy. I got a gnarly bit of sunburn on my normally pasty skin though I've had worse. I did apply sunscreen but only up to my t-shirt line and then opted to go shirtless as they give you a vest anyway. Mistake number two. My upper arms and shoulders were red as a lobster and peeled for days. I also wasn't liberal enough with the sunscreen on the backs of my hands. I had some peeling there as well. The way out was pretty exhilarating and the way back was a trail of tears so learn from my rookie mistakes if you can. I don't know if I'll do this again but I was glad to cross it off the bucket list.

Eric apparently has high standards for his work. 18 months later and I'm still happy with the quality of the repairs. Seriously! There were over a dozen gouges in the hull, and other serious damage. They were unable around afford a guide led fishing trip. Instead, the young clerk suggested renting fishing kayaks, and suggested a drop off site that was easily accessible for them. The boys had a great time! They caught numerous fish that they would not have had access to without the boats, and had the time of their lives! After the trip, my son left his new shoes in the kayak and it was towed to the storefront before he realized. I called the store, and they found the shoes right away. They had them waiting for us when we arrived at the store. Thank you Wildlife watersports for your compassion for young teenagers without a lot of money, helping us retrieve a new pair of shoes, and continuing to Inspire young people to enjoy nature and continue fishing!

Everyone was very friendly and our kayak experience was gorgeous -- we spotted every kind of bird we would think of out in the lagoon! As we came in, our daughter pooped out as she tried to paddle in, and they went out in a motorboat and towed her in! Then they gave all three girls coconut souvenirs! We are so glad we stopped, and we will be back.

We were also concerned about only being on the Intercoastal since south Florida only has narrow waterways. Vero ... not the case!!! HUGE waterways!! James gave us a thorough tutorial on operation and safety of the watercraft and told us where a great island was nearby! We reserved one hours and ended up keeping the half day!! The Bluetooth works amazing and Garmin GPS makes it easy to find your way back!!! We saw dolphins, stingrays, manatees and soooo many fish!!! We cannot wait to go back and do a full day!!! Only suggestion is get the $10 water pack for you phone (we did) and the cooler with ice because you will need it when you stop on island!!

While anchoring, a strong current caused the anchor line to become caught in the engine. We immediately contacted Salty's, and a staff member came out and instructed us to cut the line, which we did. After returning, our card was charged $331 for an anchor replacement without prior authorization. I understand the need to recover costs when equipment is damaged; however, charging full retail replacement pricing -- especially at an inflated rate -- does not feel fair or standard. Replacement charges are typically based on actual cost, not retail markup. As a local resident familiar with purchasing and pricing, this was disappointing, especially since we followed staff instructions and acted in good faith. This review reflects our honest experience. If Salty's is willing to adjust the anchor charge to a fair amount based on true replacement cost, I would welcome that conversation. Until then, this experience has unfortunately changed how we feel about returning. In addition, while I appreciate that additional items were not charged, fairness is based on what was charged, not what wasn't. Referencing potential or hypothetical damages does not change the concern around the pricing applied. I stand by my review as written, as it accurately reflects my experience.
