    The place was clean and tidy, almost every employee greeted and offered help. The pets seemed happy and healthy. I personally dont like such small cages for dogs but that's just my opinion. On the other hand the cages were clean and well kept. Dogs did look happy and playful. The aquarium is really nice and big. Alot of collection ti choose from if you are in to fishes. All in all a good place, kinda mini zoo. Definitely recommended.

    Huge variety of fish and all of the fish are well taken care of. The fishtanks are always clean and the fish are always in good condition. The fish are all a reasonable price and are all great. This establishment sells a big variety of Cichlids which is great since I keep Cichlids myself. All of the Cichlids and fish I've bought have lasted and did not die immediately. Employees are nice and also offer good fish information. If you take care of fish you should definitely come here.

    Been dealing with Aquarium Adventure for 10 years now buying fish and feeder fish from them. Have spent tons of money at this store. I bought feeder fish on the 27 of may by the 28 all my fish were dead . I drove to the store told what had happened they said to check my water. When I asked if they checked there water in the feeder fish tank. I gotta responses that I wasn't expecting. The person told me we don't have problems with are fish we don't need to.They told me to call the corporate number so I did. I called the corporate after several times they never called me back. So I called back the store talked to the store manager Paul . Talked to him about the problem that I have been having. He told me that's the risk I take for buying feeder fish. That's a great responses after spending a lot of money with the store and they don't care . Great customer service!

    In all honesty, while this place has great stockings and the staff seem to be informed about fish care, there is a suspicious amount of dead livestock of all sizes and the prices are rather high. However, I definitely would probably visit again.

    Well I have shopped at aquarium adventure before. it's an okay place. I think some of their livestock on both saltwater and freshwater are a bit overpriced. I don't go to Hoffman estates that often and you can save if you get a membership about 20%. On livestock aquarium supplies, fish food etc. It seems like they are up in maintaining their fish tanks and keeping their fish and livestock healthy even their aquatic plants as well as their saltwater fish and corals and amenities. It's just that I've been to other fish places that are much better than this in the Chicagoland and suburban areas that I can think of. Other than that, it's not bad but it's nothing spectacular or excellent. Do come here if you are in the Hoffman estates area or the northwest suburbs near Schaumburg, IL if you are going to get into the hobby of aquarium fish keeping both saltwater and freshwater. I have been in the hobby for the past 8 years. prior to that as a kid it was on and off with this hobby since my folks didn't have enough money to spend on the equipment the food and the supplies of maintenance.

    Can't say enough about this place. I've been doing freshwater aquariums for years but I've learned allot here. Love the selection of fish and other animals. John helped me tremendously with other aquatic life that I can keep in my 30 gallon and 5 gallon beta tank. Extremely knowledgeable and a people person, John has been my go to guy the last 3 times here. Love the service. I have lost 2-3 fish but overall an EXCELLENT PLACE for any aquarium enthusiast!! Highly recommended!

    I've been coming here since around 2008. I don't visit this store all that often, but, usually a few times a year. I recall back around 2009 I was given some very poor advice about some fish I purchased. I clearly let the person I was working with know I had a freshwater tank with so and so fish already in it. I let him know I was looking to add another couple fish. Well, he seemed knowledgeable and showed me some cool fish. I ended up buying a couple that he said would be good for my tank. Sadly, the fish died within a couple days. He had sold me brackish water fish; not freshwater fish! So ok, that is my fault. 99% of the time before I get any pet I research extensively myself. But, this store I had just started going to back then, and it seemed like a well setup store and they seemed to know what they were doing. Well, just another example of why you should never listen to any store employee. Especially at pet stores when animals lives are on the line. If you want a pet, research first! So, moving on. I kept coming here for things I needed from time to time. I've got a few more fish from here, some crickets, and some other random items. Recently, I purchased a few fish for my tank and got great service, although very slow. It took a while for the employee to bag my fish, but, the fish I got were great. I asked for 3 platys from the 'random platy' tank. There were a few types of colors and looks to the fish in the tank. The 3 fish I got all looked very different. So thanks for not just scooping up the first 3 you could catch that all looked the same. Much better that you took your time and got me a nice variety of colors! The fish I purchased a few days ago have lived. Thankfully. I did notice a good amount of dead fish in all the tanks. I was worried there may have been some illness going around that may spread to my home tank. But, seems good so far. All in all, they are as good or better than most other fish stores I have been to. If you want saltwater fish, they have some, but, I prefer to go to saltwater specific stores for those fish. Just remember to do your research and know everything you need to before you go to buy any pet!

    We came for a couple plants and a snail. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The kids really enjoyed seeing all the neat displays.

Tank It Easy was a completely different experience. The staff took the time to understand my budget, space, experience level and what I wanted to achieve with my aquarium. They walked me through different options, answered all of my questions and never made me feel pressured into making a purchase. Their knowledge of both freshwater and saltwater aquariums was impressive, and it was clear they genuinely care about helping customers succeed. Thanks to their guidance, I ended up with a setup that was exactly what I was looking for. He's so generous in helping you learn and he does so while always thinking of you first, and what's right for your aquarium and your budget!     DO NOT BOOK! I am in shock. What a nightmare! The groomer L@-- _ , acted like a caricature of an…read moreangry reality show villain out to stir drama with no common courtesy, much less professionalism. She was foul as soon as I opened the door and began unloading on me. My dog is a rescue so he gets anxious and shrinks a bit when people are loud and aggressive & she scared him to death. She did not even say hello, she just began berating me from the hall. She did not return my attempt at cordial words or reconciliatory behavior. Not even a hello, no meeting the dog. She didn't even set foot inside. She caused a loud scene. She has cost the company what would have been a $160 plus travel plus tip service every 6 -8 weeks. I am out of the hospital and in need and this was unnecessary escalatory nonsense. Today, N _y- didn't even enter my unit & in under three minutes in my condo hallway, called me "Rude as f_ck!", audibly for the neighbors. A medical professional was on their way to meet me for an evaluation & before greeting me stated "What was her problem?? She almost ran me over stomping off in a huff!" Common courtesy is part of the service industry. This woman imo should not be working with vulnerable animals unsupervised in a van. She couldn't display compassion for the dog in front of their owner so I shudder to think what would happen alone with a defenseless animal in a van. Her Jerry Springer level antics were unwarranted but this nasty woman N_ y _ swore and stomped away for no valid reason. There was a technical issue. I spoke with a gentleman first thing in the morning, hours prior to the appointment to explain the issue and how to navigate to avoid any problems. It was easily navigable with minor effort. Appliance delivery, a hospital worker, grocery delivery and a physical therapist had no problem with me today. I had other appointments, but my dog was my priority. This alleged professional acted like a sitcom over the top nasty DMV worker with an irrationally irritated attitude, like my mere presence was a hassle for her. I no longer trust this company, because they did not even check on me or text to ask what occurred. That shows (imo) their endorsement of her swearing and lack of concern for customer experience or loss of customers. She refused to listen to explanation for the technical issue & raged like a wrestler on steroids. I planned to rely upon this service every 6 -7 weeks for the foreseeable future while I recover. Her unnecessary actions & dropping the F Bomb have cost them a customer, but they clearly aren't concerned, because they didn't check in or follow up, And that makes me worry for the animals in the care of people knowingly employing someone like this woman, I don't trust my dog with aggressive hot headed persons - nor should anyone imo.
