After the filling he tells me " it may last 6 years, 6 days or 6 hours." Wowww Doc. Thanks for that Fast forward I had to call of a Friday to reschedule a Monday appointment. The office was closed. I called a little after 3. Because it was a weekend I guess they charged me 75$ for canceling. Wouldn't see me until i paid that. I ended up needing a tooth pulled. They wouldn't see me until i came in for a cleaning. I eneded up having to pay almost 800$ for an urgent care appointment. ​Fast forward i found a different dentist and the receptionist asked for a emailed copy of my trays. They said i would need to be paid 30$ to email it. I said absolutely not. The law in NY is they can only charge for the physical labor of emailing the document and the patient does not have to pay the email system, which they were charging me for. However after I stated this they said they didn't have the record. Lies!! I already have severe anxiety of dentists and this man and his staff didn't help. He acts like it's an inconvenience to do his job and has forgotten that the patient's are customers. I notice with every negative review there is a follow up directly contradicting the negative remarks. Obviously his staff , family, and friends in my opinion. My review is honest!! Joseph Girardi is an EXCELLENT dentist, and has a wonderful staff that supports him (Thank you Liana and Sarah...you're wonderful!!!). I had fillings replaced, a crown put in, and spaces filled. It sounds simple, routine, but every other dentist suggested braces ($8,000). He fixed my smile in one visit without braces. My smile is literally, perfect now. I Face-Timed my daughter and she screamed, "Oh my goodness, Mom! What a difference! Your teeth are beautiful!" I use to avoid smiling, being in photos, or would cover my mouth when I laughed. Dr. Girardi did more than give me my smile back, he changed my life. I can confidently walk into a room, smile first. Their prices are VERY reasonable, and they accept most insurances. The office is very clean, upscale, and has state of the art equipment. Dr. Girardi is the number one choice amongst our military families stationed here; and like me, are willing to fly back to Watertown to see this Dentist. Dr. Girard is a "real find" and I highly recommend him...without exception.

THREE separate phone conversations about scheduling this appointment before 8 AM because you're trying to accommodate childcare and your sister's work schedule. Then comes phone call #4, where THEY tell YOU that the appointment needs to be rescheduled AGAIN because "the doctor doesn't get here until 8 AM." Well, I'm sorry, but HOW IS THAT MY FAULT?! I didn't make the schedule. I didn't offer myself appointment times. YOUR STAFF offered me those times, and I ACCEPTED WHAT THEY OFFERED. We somehow made it through THREE separate phone calls without anyone realizing the doctor apparently couldn't see me at the scheduled time. ‍ So after all that back-and-forth, I get a fifth phone call today informing me that my appointment is being CANCELED. No explanation that makes sense. No reasonable resolution. Just canceled. And the timing is certainly interesting, considering I recently posted about the ridiculous scheduling experience. I can't say for certain that the two are connected, but I'll let everyone draw their own conclusions. Let me make one thing abundantly clear: I never blamed the doctor for not being there before 8 AM. I blamed the scheduling process for repeatedly offering me appointment times that apparently weren't possible. There is a HUGE difference. I was patient through FOUR phone calls, multiple scheduling changes, and the inconvenience of having to coordinate childcare around THEIR scheduling decisions. All I wanted was a dental appointment at the earliest time they could ACTUALLY accommodate. Apparently, that was asking a little too much. So now, instead of simply resolving a scheduling issue, I'm left without an appointment after five separate phone calls. If a business can't handle a customer expressing frustration about a legitimate customer service experience, what exactly are we supposed to do? Smile, say thank you, and pretend everything is wonderful while our time gets wasted? I was willing to give this office the benefit of the doubt when it seemed like a scheduling mistake. After today, I'm significantly less inclined to do that. I'll be sharing my experience here and on review platforms so other potential patients can make an informed decision. Five phone calls. Zero appointments. And somehow, I'm the one left dealing with the consequences of a scheduling problem I didn't create.

I know Watertown is a small town, and options are limited, but do yourself a favor and go to the Invisalign website and search for at least a Platinum provider. Dr. Clough-Perin is a dentist, not an orthodontist, and she might have done 'some training' from Invisalign; but she doesn't understand anything about the movement of teeth yet cares for their looks. SmileDirect Club probably would have given a better customer service and experience than her. There is a lot I could write about what went down, but to bring it to the point. I went to Dr. Clough-Perin for what she called "an easy fix." Not knowing anything about Invisalign, I listened to her advice on what treatment plan to choose and went with Invisalign Light. My initial 14 trays turned into 26! I started voicing that I didn't think my teeth were moving halfway through my initial treatment. She said, "it's all part of the process." After 12 months of wearing aligners, I still don't have straight teeth and was left with gaps that could have been prevented. To what she said, "this is as good as it gets." Very frustrated and $5000 later, I went to 2 Platinum and Diamond rated Orthodontists for a free consultation, and both assured me that my teeth were not the problem, but her treatment plan was, and I would need another full set of Invisalign treatment. I called to ask if she was willing to refund me some of the cost, to which she said she couldn't do that because she paid for some of my refinement aligners (Lies, I called Invisalign directly, and they told me it was complimentary), she also said she told me from the beginning I needed a full treatment instead of the Invisalign Light version, which was also a lie and feeble attempt to make herself look like she actually knew what she was doing. What I experienced pretty much goes along with her other reviews of her being rude and rushing everything.

I mustered up the courage to make the first appt. I walked in, kind of expecting (and looking for a reason) to turn around and walk out. I first talked with the receptionist. She was super friendly and so nice. Put me at ease immediately. I then was led back for some xrays. Sounds simple right? Well little ole me, had anxiety about it! The assistant who was doing them, was so sweet and kind to me, that my fear melted away. Skip ahead to my dreaded appt for a deep clean. I have periodontal disease, and am now terrified that it's going to be some god awful horror show. I was so wrong. These people are some of the most compassionate people I've ever met. They talked me through everything, the doc even came in to check on things, and we got a little laugh. Yesterday I went for some more work, with drills and all the "scary" stuff. I was so nerved up that I was shaking. Dr. Schonfield talked me through it all, he explained to me what was happening, and what to expect. Although I was nervous as hell, I DID IT! I swear it's because of the staff there, they REALLY CARE! And they make you feel it. I'm not completely terrified of my next appt, and am so excited to get the rest of the work done. Due to my recent insurance coverage changing, I was forced to find a new dentist. I originally…read moreasked for an appointment for a 6-month cleaning. It went well until Dr. Aujla came in to take xrays of my mouth. Typical procedure, nothing new until he said all my cavity fillings "look horrible". I asked why as I am a person who gets a cleaning every 6 months and do everything suggested; for example, electric toothbrush and water flosser. So he had me come in a couple days later where he took more x-rays. It was unnecessary as he already knew what he was looking at when he took the first x-rays the day prior. So, he then told me my tooth needed a crown. I asked all the necessary questions, and he talked to me as if I was dumb instead of using layman's terms and explaining it so I understood it. He ground my tooth down so far and filled it with more cavity filling. He then covered it with a temporary crown. At no point during this visit was I given any sort of prior knowledge about a co-pay or consent until after I left the operating room. If I had known that I had a big co-pay; I wouldn't have gotten a crown that day. After I left that day, I went home in pain to find out a couple days following the procedure, I had an abscess that took up the entire right side of my face. I got that taken care of. Yay. However, I discovered pain in the tooth that was supposed to be getting the crown put on. I attempted for the doctor send me a referral to another office for a second opinion. He never sent the referral. I cancelled the appointment for the permanent crown as my tooth was in pain and I stated that I wanted the tooth pulled. So, another appointment was made later in the week for the tooth removal. Upon arrival, Dr. Aujla tried to convince me to go to another specialist who "had the special tools required for a root canal". I searched this doctors' specialties up on google that are clearly stated under his bio; it stated that he did root canals as well as many other procedures. I asked another professional working in the office if they did root canals in this office and they said "Yes we do, we are actually currently doing a root canal on someone in the room side of you". Needless to say the doctor lied to me. After trying to convince me to see a specialist for the root canal, he stated that he wanted me to come back to get the permanent crown. I stated that I would prefer that the tooth just be removed. He did so. After he was completed with removing the tooth he said that my tooth on the other side of my mouth would need the same treatment soon. I left that day also with no pain medication to mention. I came back the following day at 8am to have my tooth extraction hole looked at, as he stated he "filled the tooth hole too full of bone graft stuff, and that was the reason that he was coming out through the stitches". I asked if the stitches were still in place as if they weren't then it would take longer to heal. He then proceeded to take another x-ray for no reason because there was no tooth there anymore, not quite sure what he was looking at. I finally got my medication prescribed. Also forgot to mention that they did not have me sign a consent form until after the tooth extraction. I typically enjoy going to the dentist, though after this encounter I am very upset and uneasy about dentists to follow. I feel this family establishment is getting what they can from patients, they are rude and careless. I have never been treated with such disregard in my life, furthermore, never had a abscess. Very unhappy with this experience, and if there was an option for a negative 10-star review, I would have. I do not recommend anyone to go to this dentist office. I also had a friend go there who had a bad experience and that speaks volumes.

I arrived there and he sat me on the chair and he put the cotton with the get in my mouth and because I have gag reflex he declined to do the job and told me I had to be sedate me in order to be able to do my fillings. When I went up front to Jenny, she quoted me at $1190 out of pocket for the procedure. In a matter of seconds he raised my procedure by over $1100. Not to mention that when I called to get my medical records and take them to another clinic, Dr Tinelli was super rude and refused to work with me in any way claiming that he doesn't want to do it without the sedation so we can avoid the "hassle". So by him avoiding the hassle I have to pay an additional $1100 so he doesn't have to see me gag and he can go about his day. I mentioned that I have always had work done with other Dr's in the past and they never had sedated me and he told me to take my business to my previous Dr's (1000 miles away). Like any other dental clinic they do a consultation first (2 months prior), which they had already done along with a cleaning and he knew about my gagging and at that moment he NEVER once mentioned about being sedated until the day of my appointment. I will never go back nor refer anyone there. Although besides him and Jenny at the front desk the rest of his staff is super professional and nice. It's a shame that he is a piece of sh*t doctor.
