You would expect that when a group of 8 of you check in they would assist with getting all your luggage to your room which was a big FAIL. The room we stayed in was very clean and had generous rooms. The kitchen was very well appointed and well equipped with what you would expect from a resort. The Buree we stayed in was the family room and it had four bedrooms with three bathrooms, one of which had a spa bath. The free Austar/Foxtel was great for the days that weren't very good weather wise but be warned, the resort offers WIFI but it's very expensive. If you have time to use or need internet access, you may be better off going to your local telco and buying a wifi/3G USB dongle. Plenty of parking but a fair distance from the reception if you have lots of luggage to carry. Although the resort does have use of trolleys. The restaurant overlooking the ocean was very picturesque and the food was very nice and very reasonably priced. Lunchtime time mains were around $15 and very tasty. The many pools on the grounds of the resort meant there was no shortage of cooling off after a day of sight seeing around Coffs Harbour. Even on wet days, the outdoor heated spa baths were very relaxing. Then of course there was the beach which was only a short walk from the resort. A wonderful location for families as there were plenty of things to do. The kids swimming area with water slide was a big hit with my niece. Final analysis: It's an 8 out of 10 for me. Great family getaway. Good way to unwind and relax.

I only stayed a night but the easy beach access allowed me to get in a late night and an early morning swim. The staff were all friendly and helpful with the questions I asked and requests for suggestions.

This is a sad story…read more Beautiful surroundings, nice facilities but no enthusiasm. No food after 9 pm and no drinks after 10pm. How do you call this a resort. It's a retirement home. Don't bother!

BAR: The selection of drinks available was satisfactory, and the prices were quite reasonable for a resort. Some of the staff seemed quite inexperienced i.e did not know how to mix basic drinks or were various wines were kept but overall was not too bad. DINNER: This is were it started to go down hill a little. The oysters Kilpatrick were OK, just and were quite expensive. The mains were tasty, but the sauce and accompaniments seemed to be very store bought. Once again the price was way out of proportion to the offering. At this stage probably still a 3.5 star experience when you take into account we were at a resort so high prices are to be expected with a captive audience. BUFFET BREAKFAST: Terrible, just terrible. Pay $25 a head for a buffet breakfast and you do NOT expect this. Coffee machine out of water that no one bothers to top up, no bacon, scrambled eggs that are so runny they border on liquid and a toast station that had barely anything but crusts left. Overall I would not eat here again. The accommodation was fine, but for food just go into Coffs. There are enough fine eating establishments there that you do not need to inflict this place on yourself.

Boambee Bay resort A…read morefantastic resort. About the best you can stay in for adults and kids. It's neat and orderly with great rooms and terrific facilities inside and out. It's right on the water, both the estuary and the beach are within a stone's throw. You have a superb surrounding area in easy reach from this resort. We stayed in a two bedroom unit, number 1008. The unit was just the right size for us and our friend and it's mighty cleverly laid out. The separation between the two bedrooms is fantastic. The bathrooms and spaces in the way mean you can barely hear anything between the two rooms. The living room is fine too as is the kitchen and dining area. There's everything you could want here. We loved the screened in porch at the back to sit in day and night. We loved the layout and facilities here. The mini golf course is a real cracker. Beware the perilous second hole! The pool and spas are nice too. There is also a nicely appointed gym. The staff at this resort are fantastic. They are lovely people and very chatty and helpful. Every dealing we had with them was great. They keep the resort in superb condition. It was immaculate inside and out. The rooms were spotless. The grounds looked superb the whole time we were there. There are very few downsides to the place. There was no air conditioning in the room but it certainly wasn't needed when we were there. The prevailing light breezes were enough through the front door and screened in porch. There was a ceiling fan anyway in our room if we needed it. The car spaces are a bit tight but perfectly manageable. In the end, we loved the resort so much we could only think of one tiny suggested improvement. I'm only raising it so I can raise something. We thought the supplied drinking glasses in the unit were a bit too small. They don't hold enough and we recommend that new ones be purchased at some stage in the future. Overall we really really liked this place. It's the best of all the time shares we've stayed on. We had a great time here and in Coffs, Sawtell, Nambucca Heads etc etc. it's a great area and this is the perfect base from which to explore it.
