The first guy recommended $4,000 worth of new copper piping and essentially a redo of our shower. Faruk redid the plumbing in our bathroom during a recent renovation. He was very professional, always on time and did excellent work. Our pipes were very old, and the vent pipe was partially disconnected from the main stack. Faruk replaced all the old plumbing and installed our new fixtures. The basement water valve and drain plug for our outside water faucet was originally plumbed adjacent to, above and to the side of our electric service panel. We had been warned it violated code and that if it ever malfunctioned and leaked or sprayed, water could flood our electric service panel. Several professionals suggested we have it moved to avoid this danger. A neighbor recommended Faruk. We arranged for him to come to our home. He investigated the issue and recommended several alternatives, answered our questions and suggested the best solution that would also be cost effective. He carefully described exactly what he would do to solve the problem and also explained why he would provide service in this manner. He referred to a written listing of his charges for this and other plumbing work and provided a written quote. His vehicle, his uniform and his communication was highly professional. He provided his background, experience, and certification. We already had a recommendation from a trusted neighbor. He arrived on time on the agreed upon date and efficiently and effectively executed the job exactly how he had initially described it. He also showed us what he had accomplished several times during his installation. When completed he demonstrated how the faucet worked and informed us what we should do when the temperature dropped during fall and winter. It has an all weather valve and we do not need to turn it off. We merely have to remove the garden hose. We are extremely satisfied with his work, the fee including hardware and labor was fair and reasonable, and we will forthwith contact Faruk for any and all plumbing needs! read more

I would never use AquaSmart again or recommend them. Faruk spent 20 minutes changing a kitchen faucet and charged me $295. He was also agreed to reset the temperature on my new tankless hot water heater. He said he would not charge for that...nice! since he had already overcharged me for the faucet. He told me he installed tankless systems all the time and it would be no problem. I think not. When he could not make the change he tried to pull up the installation instructions on the internet. When that didn't work he told me to find the installation instructions that came with the unit so he could look up how to reset the temperature. By that time I was pretty uncomfortable with and pretty sure he didn't know anything about tankless hot water heaters. I asked him to leave - with his $295 for 20 minutes of work. There are lots of good plumbers in Chicago. Don't use this guy. read more

We used AquaSmart for a number of plumbing issues in our house in Wilmette. We had some issues with old piping that corroded, and he replaced the whole thing. Sometime later, we had a leaky pipe that was behind a wall and he took care of that. It seems to me, the best quality you can ask for is to have someone you can trust, who isn't going to mark a job up too high, that is going to explain it to you, and do a great job.
