What's the average lifespan of a water softener? AI Overview Water softeners generally last 10 to 15 years, though high-quality units can operate for up to 20 years with proper maintenance. The lifespan depends heavily on water hardness, water usage, and regular maintenance, with cheaper models sometimes failing in 5-7 years. My 29 year old water softener that Aqua-man installed finally gave up last week. We had them install the new and improved model and is working perfectly. It only took less than 45 minutes to take out the old and install the new. They even filled up the salt tank with salt that they brought. The R.O. filter is still doing great. They know everything about conditioning any type of water issues I may run across. read more

I am very happy with the service I receive from Aqua-Man. I recently had there water conditioning system installed at my home and they have returned to test the system to ensure it was working properly and to teach me how to maintain it. read more

Aquaman installed a new water softener at my house. I had a cheaper one from a box store that broke after 6 years. My hair started tangling, breaking. Kelly, who owns Aquaman, came out, tested the water, gave me a free quote. Gave me military discount and different options on plans. My water softener was installed by Joe only a few days later. Joe was so nice, he drained my water heater while he was at my house. A few weeks later, Brad came out and gave me orientation to the system. He showed me how many hours until regeneration. It's an amazing unit that only requires salt maybe twice a year. Same day, Joe came over and serviced my reverse osmosis system under the sink. Everyone I dealt with was polite, professional and very kind. I highly recommend Aquaman for water conditioning needs. read more

Aqua-man of Boerne is quick to get your money but lack good customer service to make things right without charging you more. I spent over 5 thousand dollars to have a water soften installed and they want another 450 dollars to move it over 5 inches to allow access to my storage area. read more

The experience with Aqua-Man Water Conditioning has been exceptional. I found Aqua-Man Water Conditioning through feedback posted in our neighborhood Facebook page from other homeowners that used their services and provided very positive feedback. We were building a new home in a new development and wasn't sure what we needed to do for the water. I called Aqua-Man Water Conditioning for a consultation appointment. The woman that helped me schedule the appointment was very friendly and helpful. I told her we would be traveling into town and she helped find a time for a consultation that would work for our availability while in town. Brad came out to our home (build in progress), provided a lot of information, and gave a quote for a water softener and an RO system. They worked with my builder to schedule installation. Once we moved into our new home, Brad came back for an orientation and walked us through all the details of the systems, provided additional manuals, tested the water coming from the water softener and RO system, and answered every question we had. We are new to using a water softener and RO system and had a lot of questions. Brad kindly and patiently answered every question. From the initial call to schedule the consultation through our orientation, Aqua-Man Water Conditioning's service was top tier. I would highly recommend them to anyone that needed this type of service. read more

We recently had to replace our water softener that was installed in 2001 by Aqua-man Water Conditioning in Boerne, Texas. It lasted almost 25 years. So needless to say when we had to install a new one this month, we went back to Kellie Parks and Aquaman for advice. He and his team offered solutions that were practical economical up to the top of the line options. We chose another Hague water conditioning unit similar to our last since we had such great results. The team was quick and efficient and I could not be more happy with the results of the work and unit. Eric Bateman read more

We live so far out in the country that we have a hard time getting vendors to make the trip to repair or renovate anything. Aqua-Mac installed a water softener and filter system in one day. It works great with our rusty, extremely hard water. They have also come out twice to do repairs. One was to replace a small part. The second one was caused by a broken water line, not the filter system The readout on the filter system identified the problem. The Aqua-Man tech and I found the leak, and he fixed it. Even though it wasn't their system. read more

Top quality water system service. They went right to my variable speed pump and traced the problem down to system shock. They installed a small tank on the pump to prevent the water shock and damage to the controls. No problems since. It's been almost a month now. read more

Kelly and his team at Aqua-man are amazing and I am so happy with the water in my home. We put in a Hague system to clean and soften the water throughout the home. We also put in two reverse osmosis systems, one for drinking next to the sink and one for our ice machine. I was referred to Kelly and Aqua-man by a friend who had an equally positive experience. In our first meeting, the Aqua-man teamaf walked through the house in order to check the current system, plumbing setup and more. They then explained all my options and then provided a full education about the water in Austin. As I had just moved from California, I had no idea how important a good water softening system is to the health of my home's plumbing. After agreeing on our setup, I was provided an installation schedule. Everything was installed on time and everything was left immaculately clean. And when one issue came up, they were back immediately to take care of the situation. (And Kelly called after, a few times for a couple of days, just to confirm that everything was still perfect, which it was). I like to reward great work and customer service with a positive review, so it's my pleasure to share about the team at Aqua-man. read more

Kelly Parks has been in this business a long time. He is a qualified expert in the business of water softening and purification. His team is prompt, professional and highly skilled. I've interviewed a lot of companies for this and Kelly stands head and shoulders above his competition. read more

Aqua Man is a wonderful company that cares about its customers over profit. We have had our Hague Soft Water Unit for almost 16 years. Recently we thought we should purchase a new one due to its age. They came out and did tests and advised us all was well, no need to buy a new one. We then purchased a Reverse Osmosis from them. The price and installation was great. The tech who put in the system charged us for labor. Before I realized the mistake because installation was free, Aqua Man had caught it and only charged us the cheaper price. We always feel like they are there for whatever we need and have our backs. Cindy T read more

They did the best Hague install I have ever seen! We had a very unique outdoor install. We worked through the design together. It took time, but done once and right. You will need to stay actively involved and patient, but the results speak for themselves. Work with Robert on tuning your unit, he is a great asset! Also make sure Joe and his team does the install, he made it look clean and easy. Brad in sales is not technical at all but he made sure we were 100% satisfied and stands behind all work they do. read more

Never had a water softening system. Aquaman and their team have made it easy to operate and understand.

Aqua-Man's water softening system has not worked well for us. It's been adjusted repeatedly, but we are still replacing faucets due to hard water damage. Quoting the most recent plumber, "Your system doesn't work. You should not see this in plumbing with a working softener system." -since replacing with the Aquaman softener, water has leached through the seal and pitted the concrete on the floor outside our master bath shower - told by Kelly (owner) to begin using Cascade Complete in dishwasher again because the brand of cleanser they sell/suggest wouldn't clean dishes in dishwasher - faucets replaced a second time after system installed -drinking glasses repeatedly thrown away due to fogginess from hard water - when Kelly or techs come to adjust the unit they say recent rains, etc, have caused the hardness levels in the water to change (well water). However, they are supposed to be the premier well water system. Owner, Kelly (sells the systems), was rude enough that I asked my husband to start communicating with him. Just FYI- their osmosis system must be maintained by their company- they must replace the filters plus service charge read more

After talking to a few different water conditioning companies we decided to go with Aqua-Man. They have offered us great customer service and worked with our schedule to set up our new system in our new home. They even sent out one of the representatives Brad to give us an orientation on our system on a holiday! Brad was friendly and helpful. He answered our many questions that we had since we have never had a soft water system before. Everyone we've dealt with from the phone calls to the sales person to the installers to Brad have been very professional and friendly. We highly recommend Aqua-man. read more

My softener and RO have worked flawlessly for over 11 years. I was skeptical about the RO, but appliances stay squeaky clean, with no calcium buildup. The staff recommended Crystal Clear Concentrated Machine Dish Wash Soap which keeps our dishes spotless and sparkling. Thanks to Kelly and his team for always being helpful and responsive. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They have TERRIBLE services. I am very supportive of small business, but Aqua-Man Water Condition is extremely unprofessional. The owner, Kelly, came to my home and interrogated my neighbors because he was looking for us. He has our phone number but did not call or left a message. He told asked my neighbors for my phone number, even though he has it in the system, and for my new address. The background: We rented our water softener from Aqua-Man for the past 3 years. Our total contract is for 5 years. The first 2.5 years, I called multiple times because I did not feel like the water softer was working correctly. When I got my dishwasher checked, a third-party maintenance contractor told me that I should call my water softener company because he could see hard water build up in my dishwasher and sink. So I called for yet ANOTHER service and, finally, the Aqua-Man Water Softer technician confirmed that a valve was not installed correctly. I asked, is this something that can accidentally get turned? and he told me that it requires a tool to turn the valve. So for 3 years, I paid for water-softner and have it NOT WORK. I spoke to the owner about the situation and he claimed that I never mentioned this previously and the other technicians that came to check the water softener never noted this issue. Fine. I asked to cancel the contract and he demands that I pay for a $200 cancellation fee even though we had the discussion that for the past 3 years, the water softener DID NOT WORK! Fast forward, Kelly comes to my house, interrogate my neighbors and demand for his softener back. Which is fine, but I still was paying for the rental! I never missed a payment because is on auto pay! COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL! We ended up getting Westinghouse water softener and it is FAR better than Aqua-Man's product. Also, uses less salt and is more modern. read more

My neighbor rented a water softer more than 15 years ago from this company paying 45.00 a month with a visit to ck it once a year. 8,100 was her price tag. How sad a company would do this to a senior. After it had been paid for twice you think they would have said its yours. Not a company I would use. read more

I have been super pleased by the service and attention to detail from this company. Each of the workers are conscientious and take great care to make sure that I understand what I bought and how to use it properly. Great local company. I will continue to use them. read more

We had a whole house RO system and softener installed by Aquaman to purify and soften our well water. We could not be more pleased with the result -- the water is amazing, and the work done is a quality job. Kelly was especially helpful and knowledgeable about talking through options. The job took longer than we expected due to a component arriving damaged in shipping. We had to wait another month beyond the original date to get everything installed and set up. That was annoying, and the communication about when the reschedule would happen could have been better. Delay is somewhat understandable given the recent Texas ice storms and COVID causing Supply Chain issues. Once installed though, we love the system. read more

In 2019 we built a new home in 'Hill Country' and Aqua-Man was recommended by our builder. Kelly and our Builder met at our home before the 'walls' were enclosed. We installed their water softener system and reverse osmosis system. I must note that the water softener system distributes softness in an 'even' distribution; unlike older technology systems where water initially feels extremely soft then after a week feels much better. Their reverse osmosis system feeds our refrigerator water and ice cube maker. The sink spout provides delicious water for cooking and/or drinking. We've had no issues with our Aqua-Man equipment and the Customer Service is excellent. We highly recommend 'pre-installation' with new construction! read more

Aqua man installed our entire system past the well, with 4 step purification and whole house RO. Not only is the system fantastic, but their service is impeccable. When we had a system issue (well related), they were on site even before the well service. Cannot say enough GREAT about this company read more

Service is not good enough to even review. They came out and spent time maintaining our system Next morning water was cloudy and undrinkable from RO. I was told I could not get service for another 7 days. I complained and tech was to come out first thing Monday morning. Tech showed at 1:00pm while Kenetico rep was here. Really not the solid service oriented company they used to be. Very sad because we've had AM for 17 yrs. Robert is really nice and very competent My advise is to choose another company read more

My wife and I purchased a new home and the builder contracted with Aqua-Man to install our water softener and R.O. system. Aqua-Man took the initiative to schedule an orientation with me where they provided expert advice. They also registered all of my equipment, and responded promptly to a follow up request. Both technicians who came to the house were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend them. read more

Wish I would of read the Google review before scheduling a warranty service w filter change. Pretty much sums up my exact experience. Gave us a 2 hour window then they tried to cancel appointment so essentially there tech could get off early. Appointment was between 3-5 called at 130 trying telling me if I wasn't there to bad. My wife took a half day to have them come out and do this service. For service industry terrible customer service. On top of messing us around final charges were just shy of 200 bucks for a filter change. Well first and last time I'll use them. When selling you the product and installing they are very helpful but after that forget about it. I would personally avoid. read more

Wouldn't recommend. Used the lease to purchase program. I was still getting some hard water even though I kept the salt tank filled. If you don't purchase before the 12 month option, then you owe the cancellation fee of $400 and they hound you for any amount owed. I agree with the previous review that they are great during the initial sales call and installation service. Not so much afterwards. read more

A year ago we reached out to Aquaman for a quote as we began to build our dream home. Flash forward to a few weeks ago and we called that we were ready! The service, knowledge and professionalism by the team was exemplary. We are extremely pleased with the product, the cost and the follow up we received after the purchase. I would highly recommend this business! read more

I called this company because I was told they had the best solution to stinky well water. I have no problem with the equipment or installation, however, I had some issues with a pressure switch that began acting up after they manually shut it off at the switch. It probably would have been better to shut off the power at the breaker box. When they returned to flush the system after the installation, the pressure switch was burned up. I am NOT saying it was their fault since my equipment was old. However, they informed me that all they could do was give me an estimate and come back and fix it in another 5 days, at the earliest. After spending nearly $3,000 for the filtration system I was so excited to have non-stinky water but ended up with NO Water!!! I should have contacted the owner of the company immediately, but it was a Friday afternoon and I needed someone who could fix my problems, not talk. Fortunately, I called Buddy's Well Service in Bandera and they arrived promptly and replaced the pressure switch for about half of what Aquaman verbally quoted. Buddy's service man told me they would have come out even on a Saturday or Sunday if I didn't have water - big difference. read more
