Located in the heart of beautiful Golden, Vaia is an adorable hair salon with very knowledgeable…read moreand personable staff. This is the first experience where I have felt my stylist genuinely cared about what I was hoping for. I have very fine hair as well as have used boxed dye in the past so my hair was dry/damaged as well as had a reddish tint to it that I hated. Kelsey was able to not only remove the reddish tint but also color it to be a beautiful brown with light brown/golden highlight(and cover up the stubborn greys that were coming through!). She was also able to cut/style it to just what I envisioned! It looks and feels so healthy. Everything from her really listening to what I was hoping for, to the friendly conversation, cup of coffee, to the amazing scap massage during the hair wash, I highly recommend booking an appointment at Vaia with one of their talented stylists

The worst permanent jewelry experience we've ever had. My daughter and I waited 2 weeks for our…read moreappointment to get matching permanent bracelets. Alex, our stylist, seemed inexperienced with the installation process and struggled throughout the appointment. Two days later, my daughter's bracelet fell off. We then waited another two weeks to have it reinstalled, only for it to fall off again the very next day. Because of the repeated issues, the salon scheduled us with a different stylist - only to later call and say there had been a "shift change" and Alex was the only one available. The lack of quality and customer service was extremely disappointing. I also called regarding the reschedule immediately after receiving their text message, but no one answered. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this salon for permanent jewelry services.

They aren't set up for a traditional pedicure experience; it is a very thrown together set up. The lady didn't even know correct pricing (the pricing I was given was much higher than their website), she had a very hard time getting my old gel off (which is never an issue), I question if she was even qualified, none of the equipment was in cleaning solution or prewrapped (how many people had it been used on prior). I promptly ended, paid and left.

Cori is very easy to talk to and a good listener when it comes to what I'm looking for in style. It's a bit expensive (though to be fair, everything is these days), but in my opinion worth the price. I wanted to particularly shout out the receptionist who answered my call this morning - I was scheduled for a cut & glaze tomorrow morning, but am experiencing a family emergency and asked to reschedule for October. The receptionist (unfortunately I didn't catch her name!) said typically a cancellation fee would apply in this situation, but she was happy to waive it for me this time. It was an incredible relief to hear this, and I'm very grateful for the kindness she extended to me while I'm going through a difficult time.

They didn't have hair bands for some reason, so they used rubber bands. The stylist sectioned her hair into two, and asked me if that was okay. From what I saw, it seemed fine, so I said yes, and asked for a straight cut. Watching her cut, I immediately began to panic, but it was too late. Her cuts were literally at an angle, and I knew that she would have to cut a ton off to even it out. After she was done, I was waiting for her to part my daughters hair, and she never did. She did a few cuts, and then took the cover off. I asked if the front was supposed to be longer, and she said "it's the style". Getting home, I started seeing the absolute atrocity that was my daughters hair. You can see it in the photos. I thought about going back, but truly didn't want them to ruin her hair further. First and last time I'll go to a cost cutters.

Unfortunately, my experience here was really awful. From the receptionist ignoring my specific…read moreneeds when setting up the appointment, to the stylist ignoring my desires for a particular style, to the owner ignoring my request for a refund, all in all I don't think this salon is very concerned with customer service. When I made the appointment, I explained that I'd recently cut my long hair into a short, angled bob and was having trouble styling it. I warned that I had a lot of hair and said I would like to speak with someone about possibly getting a perm (at a later date). For the appointment, I said I would bring pictures of the CURLY style I'd like. I was clear about needing my hair washed, dried and curled. When I arrived, the first stylist (with whom I had been booked) was quite nice about it but told me she knew nothing about perms nor curling hair. She also said I'd only been scheduled for a "blow out." She said she would "pull in" another stylist and asked me to wait a moment. Several minutes later, I was moved to another chair with another stylist where I had to go over what I was looking for again. Please understand that I very much respect a professional's opinion - that's why I scheduled an appointment in the first place. But that's why her responses rather frustrated me. The style I showed the second stylist (attached) was something she said "couldn't be done with a perm." Fine. While I have my doubts, I'm willing to trust her. But when I asked her to create the style with a curling iron, she again said it wouldn't look the same. When she then told me that such curling would run upwards of $75, I just didn't want to pay that for an "un-doable" look. However, I had scheduled the appointment with the knowledge I was attending an event with my husband later that evening. By that time, I'd had three sets of fingers playing with my hair, which had needed washing to begin with, and no time to do it myself before meeting my husband. I asked the stylist to just go ahead with a wash & blow dry. . . . as long as I had volume. I'm sure you understand how hard it is to be confident when you hate the way your hair looks. I was specific about NOT wanting flat hair. I was also specific about NOT wanting a wax on my hair, which leaves it listless and feeling greasy, but that's what I got. And that's how I left New Energy- with flat, greasy hair that really made me sad. I'm perfectly willing to try new looks - just not ones I've found to be wholly unflattering during my 34 years of experience with my hair. And particularly not ones I have specifically asked a stylist to avoid. Frankly, I was too near tears to do much but pay & leave. It was upon thinking how much I felt ripped-off that I decided to let the manager know about my experience. His response was really infuriating. He basically said he had talked to his employees and they denied pretty much everything. Needless to say, I dropped it after essentially being called a liar and having my refund request ignored. Final word - awful.
