I am so happy with my cut from Carrie! I have thin hair that can be tricky to find the balance between textured layers and too much layers that make it look thinned out. She did the perfect happy medium, plus I love the big beachy curls I got to finish things off. The salon is in a renovated older house in downtown Golden and the whole space is full of natural light. You CANNOT beat the price, either! I also felt really safe because everyone is spread out and has masks on (although mask orders are about to expire, so not sure what that will look like going forward. I had my hair cut by an outside party. When I went home to actually take the time to look at it, I was devastated at the results. What was supposed to be long layers turned into a mullet top with 2 rat tails of long hair underneath. I had been growing my hair out for the last decade. The layers were chunky, and very very short. After reaching out and hearing nothing back from the stylist I called April as she used to cut my hair. I explained the situation and she said Victoria could get me in to see what she could do! After a few hours I showed up and she greeted me so sweetly and she was so kind. She took a look at everything and proceeded to help salvage what she could. I went from having hair almost down to my butt, to shoulder length hair. I was so emotional and Victoria was so genuine and kind to me. She then went over how to take care of the cut as I now have curly hair . She also told me about products to use and she did all of that in such a kind way. She went above and beyond and I couldn't have asked for a better hair dresser. She knew exactly how I felt and made sure I knew all the information needed to keep my hair healthy. She did such an amazing job!! She seriously was an Angel and I am truly grateful for that! I owe her so much! If you ever get a bad haircut, call this salon! Every single staff member is qualified and experts at what they do. Victoria was so knowledgeable! I will be going solely to her from now on as I trust her with anything! We just moved to Golden and needed to find a new place for haircuts. My husband and I both had Victoria cut our hair and were extremely pleased. I was very torn as to weather or not to give a 4 or 5 star review, because I haven't had my hair cut twice here yet. I decided to err on the side of optimism because with prices this great ($20 for a women's hair cut), It's hard to go wrong! This salon is a part of a house. If you're walking in from Jackson, use the front door. There's adequate signage to find it easily. The entry way has a front desk and professional hair care products. There are two or three seats available if you have a wait. There are two hairdressers and two chairs. Each provides you with a personal touch. I had a great chat with the hairdresser and she gave me exactly what I was looking for! That's hard to find :). read more

I'm so happy to have found Victoria! I'm new to the area and was nervous about finding a good colorist/stylist, but I'm absolutely thrilled with the color, highlights and trim that I received from her. (Even my husband commented on how nice the color looked.) The nicest surprise came when it was time to pay... Went to April's for the first time and the last! I requested a partial highlight to match what was growing out. Asked that it blend in as naturally as possible. What I ended up is big streaky chunks of shades not matching at all and some that do. Foils obviously were so far from the roots that it looks like I had it done 4 weeks out. I don't even know how she was able to do 2 different colors, but in one spot... there is big glob of brassy orange and the other is a lighter highlight (maybe she didn't stir the mixture??). The lighting in the room was hard to even tell so I tipped her and left. It looks like something I could have done and will have my regular hairdresser fix when she comes back. It's my fault for going there... just writing this so everyone can be wary and be forewarned!!! NOT a good place to go!! read more

She also made time to squeeze me in although she had an upcoming appointment. Even with a tight schedule she took great time and care with my cut. I couldn't believe that both of our cuts were only $45. I haven't found a place this reasonably priced since I lived in the Midwest. Beyond her affordable hair cuts, color, and services, Carrie really listens to what you want and produces the best hair cuts I've ever had in my life (and I'm 50). I go to April's anytime I need my hair cut or colored and have been going to her for years. April is very talented and gives you exactly what you ask for. So, even though I live in Denver and had to drive a ways to get to her, I wanted to use her for doing my hair for my wedding. April was on vacation, but she set me up with another stylist-Lori-who did an amazing job! I got more compliments on my hair than anything else. I have fairly short, very thin hair but Lori made it look long and beautiful in an up-do with flowers.
