My experience with Apricot Solar was less than ideal.
They are based out of Fresno and are 'the middleman' contracted with Freedom who actual installs the solar.
The sales rep., like many, was smooth talking but pressured us in to sealing the deal. We financed through the company they use, Mosaic (I don't recommend them either. Find your own company to finance through.). You will start off with a certain amount of money that you owe but need to have 30% of the total amount of the solar panels paid off a year after they begin charging you, otherwise your price will go up. For example, you may pay $50 a month and after a year, it jumps up to $175.
Freedom was so-so. On the final day of inspection by the city, they had forgotten to plug in some wires and also forgot to put the warning stickers on it on the new breaker box installed. This created me having to take more time off work on another day for the inspector to come out again.
Bear in mind, the area will look horrible with all the wiring, grounding, breaker box (we had an old, smaller breaker box that had to be replaced, as it could not accompany the space needed for the solar system) and inverter, after everything is installed. The Freedom workers were nice and informative when I spoke to them. There were about 3 different crews working on the system, from start to finish.
I'm not sure how other solar companies work or who they contract the solar work out to but I do not recommend this company. They seem mostly in it for the money and that is not a sustainable way to build a business. read more
