When I got home I live less than 10 min away, she had a high temp, im in no way blaming anyone for her having a fever what I find unusual is that no one "noticed" well was she upset did she fall or cry? Response I got was no she was fine and playing and took water breaks. Mind you she's not even 2 I would expect someone to notice something may be off. Turned out to be an ear infection. In addition after I msged the staff about the incident I didn't feel like anyone really cared to ask what happened or check. Especially now with COVID , don't you want to know what was the outcome if your kids are attending there? It's a shame cause I think my daughter enjoyed it for the most part. Perhaps this is normal at daycares?

Pipster Prep was great--until it wasn't. We were one of the first families when the school opened…read morein May 2023 with just two classrooms, and stayed through April 2025 as it expanded to eight. Unfortunately, the quality of care and leadership didn't grow with it. While many of the teachers were kind and well-meaning, the majority were very young, newly trained through online programs, and often promoted with minimal hands-on experience. This inexperience showed, especially when it came to basic safety and communication. We raised several safety concerns over our time there: loose screws left in classrooms, unsecured furniture, choking hazards like popcorn and whole grapes on the snack menu, and toys with loose button batteries. Water beads--another well-known risk--were even used in class. We, and other families, were repeatedly brushed off or met with defensiveness when we brought these issues up. Our daughter has severe food allergies and had multiple reactions at school. Instead of ensuring a safe shared environment, the school had her eat meals alone at a table--at just 2 years old--while other students with allergies had entire foods banned from their classrooms for their safety. Even with discussions with their owner, Tessa, they don't seem to actually have a cohesive set protocol for handling allergies at their schools. Our daughter's school stored EpiPen was also allowed to expire by three months, only discovered when they went through medications for a state inspection scheduled the next day. There's only one classroom in the entire building with windows to the outside. The outdoor space is tiny, surfaced with hot rubber bark from recycled tires that stains clothes and skin when wet--definitely not designed with young children in mind. Multiple complaints and suggestions from parents were made over the two years we were there but nothing happened. Communication with the director, Jessica, was one of the most frustrating aspects. She often went weeks or even months without replying to emails, was rarely present during school hours, and didn't seem to support or equip teachers to navigate concerns with families. When we did hear from her, responses were often dismissive or defensive rather than collaborative. Eventually, we were blamed for "teacher burnout" simply for raising ongoing concerns about safety and our daughter's well-being. We appreciated the daily photos, but it often meant that teachers spent significant time on iPads instead of actively engaging with the children. For the high tuition we paid, our daughter frequently spent playtime drawing on a whiteboard with dried-out markers or sharing a single marker among many kids. In March 2025, we were suddenly told our family would not be allowed to return in the fall because our occasional concerns were"too much for Jessica's mental health". This came without any prior indication of issues or feedback. A few weeks later, we were immediately expelled from the school and received an email accusing us of "disruptive and inappropriate behavior." We had picked out daughter up early that day for a Doctor's appointment... Shockingly, Jessica sent an email to the entire school community sharing private details about our daughter's medical history, and invited other parents to "come into her office" to learn more about our family--something that was not only unethical, but a serious privacy violation. We were wowed by the newness of the school but should have done more due diligence as organizationally, it doesn't seem equipped to handle its rapid growth. Despite Jessica's experience as a preschool director, her lack of openness to feedback, poor communication, and disregard for legitimate safety concerns are deeply troubling. Since leaving, we've heard similar stories from other families and former staff. If you dig past the solicited 5-star reviews, you'll find more parents speaking up about the same issues. Advocating for your child's safety should never be treated as a threat or burden. That should have been our biggest red flag of all.

The HR person isn't on site and when you text or email them it takes days for them to answer and then when you fill out your ins information with your address they mess it up and put the centers address as your home address and you cant fix it without having them completely redo the application. The Hr Person is basically non existent in the company. They used to have Greta benefits but have recently started taking them away so workers had to form a union but since no bargaining session has happened yet they are still treating employees very badly.

It's so helpful for keeping those little fingers out of noses and mouths I love that the school is so inclusive and has so much information available on their site. Teacher Amy is so kind and gentle with the kids, you can tell it's her passion to teach kids! She rotates the activities for the kids to do so that there little minds are constantly inspired. I am so so thankful to have found the school. My son can't WAIT to go to school and see his friends, it brings such a beautiful sense of normalcy that I cannot express enough how big of a difference it makes for our family! Our son is starting his second year at Aprende and we're very grateful. The director Stacey is warm, sharp/smart, and caring, and so enthusiastic about the kids, Reggio Emilia learning philosophy, inviting/welcoming parent involvement, and tending to the needs of instructors. The instructors are also warm, caring, qualified (many have Masters degrees), and great with establishing and maintaining boundaries for the kids. We also love that students circulate through math/science center, language/social studies center and music/arts. It allows my son to experience each of these areas daily. Aprende is affordable, is open daily 8-5 (practical), offers nutritious snacks and two daily outdoor playtimes. And our favorite thing about Aprende is the approach to Spanish immersion -- that Spanish is included in playful, learning ways throughout the day, and that students hear a variety of Spanish speakers, learn songs and alphabet. Spanish is important to us not only because my son has had a Spanish-speaking babysitter since he was a toddler, and because Spanish is such a crucial secondary language in the United States, but also because learning a second language is fabulous for brain development. We are so sad too me moving on! My child started at camp 3 years previous, attended for two years of preschool, and has been on an amazing journey to where she is fully comprehending Spanish! She will continue in Dual Immersion in Kindergarten this fall, but she has learned all of the major building blocks from this amazing program. She knows all of her numbers, letters, shapes, colors, and can write full sentences in Spanish and English. Her pronunciation is perfection and she even corrects her dad and I sometimes:) The curriculum along with the skilled teachers creates a loving and and positive learning environment. Stacey truly creates a community within the school through parenting classes, school events such as picnics, fall festival etc. We are grateful for the experience we have had and look forward to camp next summer! My 5 year old son has attended Aprende Con Amigos over this last year and my only regret is not finding this amazing preschool sooner. He has learned and grown so much in just this one year, i can only imagine how much progress he could have made if he had started a couple of years earlier. He has not only learned a significant amount of Spanish in a very short time, but he has also become incredibly interested in learning the language. I'm a native Spanish speaker and had tried teaching him myself, but he showed no interest before Aprende. We came to Aprende because my then 2-year old son was obsessed with language, but what I didn't expect to find was such a strong and supportive parenting community. Parenting is hard. Especially when you are an over-achiever and expect too much out of your tiny person. Aprende holds monthly parenting classes that have helped us tremendously through some tough times. Also, the director, Stacey, is a wealth of parenting knowledge and is always helpful when I share my concerns with her. Our daughter just started at Aprende this year and she loves it. She's goes 2 half days and I am always amazed at how much Spanish she's already picked up. My partner and I chose the Aprende for it's location and affordability, and of course the Spanish immersion - and we're so glad we did. Wonderful preschool! We have sent both of our daughters to Aprende con Amigos and I can't say enough wonderful things about it! We appreciate that our daughters are learning another language and that the academics are stellar, but it's really the love and compassion that the staff has shown our kids that has really mattered the most to us. The teachers are caring yet firm (we adore Violeta!) and by the end of the three years our daughter could have a conversation in Spanish. Plus, we love walking in there every day. And when the time came to leave her upper elementary classroom at her previous school (the super wonderful Sunstone Montessori) - we really struggled. Did we put her in a pipeline school that would allow her to matriculate from her middle school program directly into high school (e.g. OES)? Should we consider Waldorf? In the end, sticking with Montessori for our daughter's middle school years was not only a healthy choice for her growth and development - it was an amazing experience for her whole person. Picture this - after completing her 7th grade year at Metro . . . our daughter disclosed to us, "that was the best year of my life." Wow! I don't know about you - but my Catholic middle school years were DEFINITELY NOT the best years of my life. Thank you, Metro for being such an amazing place of peace, curiosity and compassion. You ROCK!

We are so fortunate to have such an amazing program that supports children so lovingly as they attain a wide range of skills. We saw vast improvements in his verbal, social, and cognitive skills. This school has been fantastic for our children--not only are they learning but, more importantly, they are developing a love of learning. They have gone from feeling indifferent to school to doing long division at home for fun, or begging us to sign them up for after school classes.

We've appreciated the wealth of parent education nights that have informed us about the absolute brilliance that is Montessori education. Wow, Maria Montessori. Each time we're at the school for parent education or some sweet gathering for families, we feel starry eyed and grateful to be able to have our kids at a Montessori school. On top of that, Sunstone is a great community of compassionate people. The year is full of sweet community events and seasonal gatherings. My kids look forward to school the great majority of their days and come home proud of the research/math/knitting or other awesome things they've done. The guides are all excellent, committed and caring, and clearly like family with each other. Truly my only complaint is that I wish we could walk there! And I wish they'd start a high school!
