Nina, Bryan and Megan have created a magical, safe, and lyrical space for young children to explore and enjoy. While I'm sure our daughter was developing some important social and cognitive skills, the thing that most struck me was the simple sense of wonder that she would come home with every day. Throughout the year Song Garden hosts seasonal festivals, rituals, and gatherings that include the entire family. These have become such beloved traditions in our family that we plan to keep attending even though we are past preschool age. Nina and Bryan also have periodic parental meeting where we could learn more about classroom activities, individual development, and allow us to ask any questions or air other concerns. These were great opportunities to trade parenting tips with other new parents, and we picked up a number of great techniques. The greater Song Garden community became an excellent support network for us, and provided us with an increased sense of parental confidence. In the end we were sad to see our daughter "graduate" out of pre-school; but we are so pleased with her growth during this period and we are confident she has the skills to thrive in her future environments.

The teachers Nina and Bryan are the most gentle, loving people who have nurtured my son and helped mold him into a sweet, well mannered boy with a love of the gardening, pretend play, music and nature in general. Occasionally my son will have a behavioral issue at school or have something come up - Nina and Bryan go out of their way to talk through it after hours and suggest reading material as well as clip out articles to assist me. This has been priceless to me and so well appreciated as they have years of teaching under their belt and they have very insightful feedback. I know they do this for other parents as well and we often talk about what a help it is to have such valuable feedback. Not too long ago, the kids found a moth with a broken wing in the back play area. Nina had instructed them not to move it, so they brought it food and water and sat around it and took care of it. This is a perfect example of how kind this school and these teachers are and the love of nature they are instilling in their students. We are very sorry to leave Song Garden - we would send our son here through high-school if it were at all possible! I very highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a wonderful, nurturing environment for their precious child and encourage you to schedule a visit - you'll be won over as soon as you meet the teachers and see the magical space that is the classroom.

I checked out three other places before making my final decision. I knew right away this was my number one choice. The daycare is the entire basement of the providers home. It is always clean and well organized. Cassy makes a monthly newsletter every month letting us know what's going on for the month and what our 2 year old is going to be learning. Our daughter just turned two and is already recognizing shapes and letters. Cassy also has a "parents night out" once a month where you can leave your kid there until 10 pm. This weekend Cassy and her husband Woody took our daughter to the pumpkin patch and she had so much fun. She is dressed and ready to go first thing in the morning and we never have to worry about her canceling on us. She understands that she is going to get sick and that pur jobs rely on her services. To truly understand the impact Portland Christian has had in improving every aspect of our child's life you would've needed to know our history in the public school system. As the new kid the other students were welcoming. She had no problem making friends. She's had no issues being bullied. Their staff takes all issues serious. They don't let situations build up before intervening. I've never felt I was being bothersome when requesting things or asking questions. My child feels emotionally supported when having a down day. She's not trying to stay home anymore. She's trying new sports to be part of the team. She's the courageous confident kid she was before the pandemic. It's a true testament as to the dedication of the PCS staff and community. It's hard to find words to describe our gratitude.

Writing this review in case anyone sees it who is considering registering their child in any…read morepreschool owned by Taylor Breunig, who, according the Oregon Business Registery, owns preschools under the following names: Wild & Wonderful, Inc (3 locations in Oregon) Little Otters, Inc (3 locations in Oregon) SoGrow House, Inc (2 locations in Oregon) I paid well in advance one month at one of her daycares (Wild & Wonderful, SE Portland) in order to hold a spot for my son, and at the time confirmed the funds would be fully refundable if something didn't work out (honestly I had a weird feeling there but we were desperate for care). I was told multiple times the funds would be returned at the time another child took the spot. We did end up deciding to go somewhere else that I had fewer reservations about, and I reached out for a refund to the $1,650 that they charged me to hold my spot. They once again confirmed it would be fully refundable once another child took our spot, and I checked the handbook and saw no other policy or line stating it was not 100% refundable. It has been nearly 8 months. I have been in regular communication with a staff member who has been very nice and I believe is unrelated to the issue. She even confirmed to me that she had forwarded my request to Taylor who was going to issue my refund, and apologized several times for it taking longer than it should have. I wanted to stay civil and continued to give the benefit of the doubt, so instead of contacting a lawyer, leaving a bad review, or making a report the BBB, I continued to check in monthly with the staff member, awaiting for Taylor to process the refund, even though it was causing me financial hardship. I honestly regret being so kind about it, perhaps if I had left a review or taken other public action, Taylor would have been forced to respond to me. I finally heard back today that the business has closed, and after 8 months of trying to get my money back, the owner clearly had no intention to do so. She has opened multiple other daycares, so while this business closed, I believe any parent considering sending their child to one of her businesses should be warned. After searching for reviews on Wild and Wonderful I found MULTIPLE OTHER SIMILAR REVIEWS from parents who were never given funds back, and completed ghosted by Taylor. I will be following up with BBB and a lawyer. I'm so disappointed. Please do not give this person your money. I regret not getting a lawyer involved sooner, this feels very predatory. It's unfair to just close your business and open a new one to get out of paying money you owe. I don't want any other parents to fall for it.
