Camp Imagineerz Palo Alto - Outdoor Fun

Camp Imagineerz Palo Alto

Our rising first grader joined imagineerz camp in Los Altos this year and had a blast! Every day…read moreshe looked forward to it, and the camp counselors did a great job sharing a look ahead of the next day with the kids. They do fun theme days which my daughter was really into. In addition, I thought the weekly themes are super engaging and my kid came back with a new insight each day. One of the science experiments they sent home has become her prized possession! They also host a performance at the end of camp which I thought was super cute and engaged all campers! I didn't realize how much effort went into the play -- all kids knew their lines and roles which showed how much prep the counselors did. We also loved the iCan song and message it leaves the kids with, our daughter still sings it! Definitely looking forward to returning next year!

When I asked him which camp he would want to sign up for next year, he listed Camp Imagineerz as his "must" choice without hesitation. Pick up and drop off were all seamlessly done. The third party lunch option offered at the camp was amazing. All the staff I had encounters with had positive and upbeat energy. The curriculum is focused on creativity, problem solving and social emotional skills, and they weave these skills together by planning and prepping for weekly skits they put out at the end of each week. My son absolutely loved this camp, and we will definitely return.

I booked a Tuesday evening class during winter break. You get a confirmation email and that's it. I was worried about prep but they prepare everything for you and thought up everything as well. Small parking lot. They had us wash our hands when we arrived and then each kiddo had a color sheet with crayons. Nice touch but defeats the purpose of washing our hands first. The two of us shared a table with another mom with their toddler. Each toddler had their own set up to make 6 cookies. Everything was pre measured and it wasn't too messy. We were able to bake 6 cookies and use whatever toppings - she got to choose between chocolate chips, m&ms, white chocolate chips and these dried fruits. They read a book to the kids and then made milk shakes as a group. Each kid got a small cup and to place chocolate chips/m&Ms in. The cookies were really delicious and my child loved the milk shake. One thing is that you can't stop other kiddos from touching your items/food. Would return.

We…read moresigned up for a shared table experience, but we did not realize that "shared" meant all parties at the table would be sharing the same sauce, ingredients, and cooking steps. For example, all six of us were mixing one single sauce together with only three ingredients. This was not communicated clearly in the class description and felt very uncomfortable. The class description also stated that everything would be made from scratch, but that was not the case. We wrapped pre-cut chicken in pre-made phyllo dough, which was very different from what we were expecting based on how the class was advertised. Additionally, the experience felt a bit low-quality. The appetizer was a single small plate of pita bread and oil--probably under $2 total--to be shared among all six people. There was also a lot of waiting around, with the kids taking turns doing very small tasks such as sharing the chopping of just one onion. Overall, the experience felt slow, uncomfortable, and not aligned with what we believed we were paying for. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this class to others and do not plan to return. Thank you for taking the time to read this feedback. I hope it helps improve future classes.

Camp Unalayee - Families do Archery at Family Camp

I realize it's unexpected that I would give 2 stars as my experience at Camo Unalayee was traumatic…read morehowever I do recognize that the vast majority of people have a wonderful experience and I think most everyone involved in the camp have great passion for their good work. however, years and years ago, I was molested by a camp counselor at this camp- at the time, I told my other co-lead what had happened. At the time, it was suggested multiple times that I was "confused," there was no further exploration as to what happened, and my parents were never told. I myself did not tell them as I was so ashamed after speaking up and having it dismissed. years later, I wrote the adult woman I had told about my experience trying to understand why nothing was done- she told me that she had brought up the issue with the director (and I think founder?) as well as other staff and it never went further than that. I wrote the director, and he said he has no knowledge of it? As a woman and mother now, I recognize the counselor who molested me was practiced and I do fear there were other campers who went through what I did :( I really, really just wish they had spoke to my family about what had happened so that there would have been accountability and hopefully it would have never happened to someone else at the least if it had, we (I) wouldn't have felt so alone. it took my years to enjoy backpacking and the outdoors again- it was so very hard to have such an experience in the most beautiful of places

Camp Unalayee is the most amazing summer camp EVER to exist!…read more The summer program at Unalayee is so amazing, not only because of the location (which is absolutely breathtaking) but also because the staff, returning and new campers each year create an amazing community. My parents brought me up to Camp Unalayee when I was six years old and from then on I was hooked. I've made life long friends and skills. I highly recommend this camp to any person young and mature.

The teachers are very dedicated and help the dancers realize their full potential while still being a fun experience. My daughter has been attending FDS for several years now and it's the highlight of her week. She is in the Elite competition team at FDS that works hard, and has the dancers joining four competitions throughout the year and a convention event. I really recommend Fantasy Dance School as a place your child will not only grow their dance skills, but teamwork, patience, commitment, and independence.
