In response to Maria: I have no incentive nor desire to mislead readers. I am telling the truth…read moreabout my experience with your business. Respectfully, within our exchanges, you did not address my concerns, you doubled-down and responded in a defensive way, as you are doing in your response here. You responded to what you thought my concerns were, and sent the complaint directly to the teacher with no context, leading to a situation wherein my concern was not only not addressed, it was inflamed and taken out of context. It felt like being ganged up on. The difference in the public response here, however, is the apology. Offering to essentially boot us from the class is not akin to working with us towards a solution to keep us as customers. It reads as, "my way or the highway", which is not exactly a great way to deal with children and families. Notably inappropriate is also posting the status of my payment method on a globally public thread. Highly unprofessional. It shouldn't matter, since you were going to refund me anyway. I did not receive an email beforehand that the card didn't go through, either. We have been attending classes at this location for months with no issue with payment, and attended one class that I found out through this exchange was unpaid for due to a card being compromised. Is it not your job to inform people when their payment doesn't go through? Why did you deem it important to publicly shame/blast someone for their payment information? Very odd.

The third party lunch option offered at the camp was amazing. All the staff I had encounters with had positive and upbeat energy. The curriculum is focused on creativity, problem solving and social emotional skills, and they weave these skills together by planning and prepping for weekly skits they put out at the end of each week. My son absolutely loved this camp, and we will definitely return.

At the end of the camp, parents are invited to see what the kids constructed during the week and they put on a show for you. What I was most impressed with was that they instill in the kids this "I-Can" mindset, which teaches the kids what to do when they face adversity, issues and driving that positive mindset that they can overcome it. The most fun part is at the end of camp where, the kids get to "dunk" the counsellors with water which always ends with squeals of delight ... Great experience for people watching/interacting, and cooking without having to prep or clean!…read more Booked a shared table for 2 (4 people at a table) for an adult cooking class on a Saturday night. Pros: The shared table experience was great for meeting new people and having extra sets of brains for multitasking. Cons: Seating is random and the experience is shared; ie: one burner for 4, and the end products are shared. Our dish ended up being over-salted, and our experience was halved in interactive-ness due to the luck of the draw of seating. Never have I had a spoon or spatula taken away from my hands so fast before. And most certainly never have I had someone critique the knives and actively give the duller knife to us. This shared table experience was essentially a fight for all (for us). BUT this is just dependent on the attendees and who you're seated with. The other shared tables didn't seem to have such issues. For a more interactive learning experience, I recommend the private table to avoid the risk of randomization. On the bright side, we got to see how other couples interact, whether it was actively taking items from their partner's hands because they were doing the task wrong (ie: mixing eggs wrong??) or the couple next to us taking cute photos of each other and sharing drinks while enjoying their time together. The structure of the class was decent, organized, and well-paced. All ingredients were measured and prepared. Baking, cleaning, and chilling items were taken care of by staff. Prepping the dish (ie: battering items, mixing ingredients) and active cooking were the only things needed to be done. The instructor would explain the ingredients provided and the instructions during the instruction period for the dish at hand. Following the instructions, prep/cooking occurs while the instructor supervises and provides aid or guidance as needed. All in all, I had a great experience. The staff was nice, especially the instructor, and I felt taken care of during my cooking class experience. Would return for pasta night-- most definitely for the private table experience.

I booked a Tuesday evening class during winter break. You get a confirmation email and that's it. I was worried about prep but they prepare everything for you and thought up everything as well. Small parking lot. They had us wash our hands when we arrived and then each kiddo had a color sheet with crayons. Nice touch but defeats the purpose of washing our hands first. The two of us shared a table with another mom with their toddler. Each toddler had their own set up to make 6 cookies. Everything was pre measured and it wasn't too messy. We were able to bake 6 cookies and use whatever toppings - she got to choose between chocolate chips, m&ms, white chocolate chips and these dried fruits. They read a book to the kids and then made milk shakes as a group. Each kid got a small cup and to place chocolate chips/m&Ms in. The cookies were really delicious and my child loved the milk shake. One thing is that you can't stop other kiddos from touching your items/food. Would return.

I realize it's unexpected that I would give 2 stars as my experience at Camo Unalayee was traumatic…read morehowever I do recognize that the vast majority of people have a wonderful experience and I think most everyone involved in the camp have great passion for their good work. however, years and years ago, I was molested by a camp counselor at this camp- at the time, I told my other co-lead what had happened. At the time, it was suggested multiple times that I was "confused," there was no further exploration as to what happened, and my parents were never told. I myself did not tell them as I was so ashamed after speaking up and having it dismissed. years later, I wrote the adult woman I had told about my experience trying to understand why nothing was done- she told me that she had brought up the issue with the director (and I think founder?) as well as other staff and it never went further than that. I wrote the director, and he said he has no knowledge of it? As a woman and mother now, I recognize the counselor who molested me was practiced and I do fear there were other campers who went through what I did :( I really, really just wish they had spoke to my family about what had happened so that there would have been accountability and hopefully it would have never happened to someone else at the least if it had, we (I) wouldn't have felt so alone. it took my years to enjoy backpacking and the outdoors again- it was so very hard to have such an experience in the most beautiful of places

My daughters have been going to Camp Imagineerz every summer since the summer after kindergarten…read moreand they are now heading into fifth grade. We've done 2-3 weeks every summer at the Los Altos location, and this is literally the only camp they've asked to return to every single year. What makes Imagineerz special is that it genuinely grows with the kids. It's not a camp they age out of. The program is designed for them to take on more responsibility and leadership as they get older. My girls have spent the last couple years as "leads," helping create and perform the weekly show, learning lines, designing sets, working with younger campers, and figuring out how to pull together a great show with the younger kids. Now they're simultaneously sad to leave that stage behind and also so excited to move into the next level where they'll take on more responsibility for helping the younger kids and supporting running the camp. They already talk about becoming counselors in the future! There's a real philosophy behind the camp. Kids have agency and are encouraged to be creative/bold, and trusted with meaningful responsibility for their age. The staff is also exceptional. Many return every year, including former campers who have grown up through the program, so there's a sense of community that I haven't see as much with other camps. They're fun and goofy with the kids, but also super thoughtful and attentive. We've gotten notes about small moments when one of our daughters showed kindness or leadership, which makes our girls SO proud. I especially appreciate that they notice kids as individuals and reinforce the moments when they work through challenges or help someone else. And importantly, my kids just LOVE it. There are theme days, costumes, water Wednesday, weekly performances, and silly camp traditions. After all these years and multiple weeks they still can't wait to go back. We don't have that with any other camp besides sleepaway. It's rare to find a program where you completely trust the people caring for your kids AND your kids love being there. We're five summers in, and I hope my girls are still part of this community when they're in high school. ICan 't recommend it enough (you'll get the joke if you join :) )

We signed up for 2 weeks at the Palo Alto location last year and 2 weeks at the Los Altos location this summer. There are a few things that make this camp special: among them are the really nice staff, LITs, and Junior LITs (Leaders in Training). They're often older kids who love this program so much that they return to help younger kids out with creative building from recycled materials. As an example, my son had an idea of attaching a toilet paper tube to a box, and one of the Jr LITs showed him how to cut the tube in a way to attach more securely to the box. My son really bonded with Salsa last year and looked forward to seeing him again this year. Another highlight is the play that they work on and perform on the last day. Everyone gets a chance to bring the play to life, whether it's a speaking part of working on props. My son's always had a wonderful time making his own costume in the earlier days of the camp.
