Awful, top to bottom…read more Called them for a time sensitive appraisal. I was told that they could get it done but would call me with the price. I told Sue that I absolutely needed the appraisal for Friday for a closing and that if they could do it, I would give the go ahead for the appraisal. They called me on Tuesday to let me know the price and I put a check in the mail same day. When I called them on Thursday to inquire about the status of the appraisal, I was told in the least friendly manner Sue could muster that "we won't send out the report since we haven't received your payment." I told her the check number, the amount, when and where I mailed it, and was told that "she would look for the check tomorrow and if it came she would send the report." So even though they knew I absolutely needed the report by Friday, even though it took them until Tuesday of the same week to tell me the price at which point I sent out a check, they refused to work with me in good faith and send me the report timely. When I called and spoke with Gabrielle today, she begrudgingly told me that they could have taken a credit card over the phone but that they take a 5% extra charge for doing that. Not addressing if this is legal or not for a second, why the heck wouldn't she have mentioned this before, that I could have paid with a credit card over the phone? Why during multiple conversations about time frame and cost did she not bother to bring this up? And now they won't release my appraisal that I needed last Friday. With so many appraisal groups around, stay away from these guys and choose anyone else - besides the fact that they charge more than BOSTON companies, they refuse to be accommodating and help out their customers. Stay clear of this company. As a follow up, I just got the appraisal and this company appraised it at $100+K less than another group, Zillow, Redfin, ReMax and Trulia. As I said, use anyone else other than these guys.
