My youngest son and I needed an option fairly close to downtown Dallas/American Airlines Center and this hotel fit the bill. The hotel is less than three miles from downtown. Yes, you need to pay to park, but everyone in the hotel was friendly. Our room was clean. Bed was very comfortable. Ive had better Embassy breakfasts. Breakfast attendant was great but it seemed like they put out the minimal amount. Saturday night the pool was warmer than the hot tub. Not going to minimize the hiccups here. All things considered, I'd stay here again. All staff were friendly, cheap Uber to anything at the American Airlines Center, and an overall decent location. With a little TLC this could be a 5 star hotel

The rooms are a bit small, a bit out of date, but they're alright and comfortable enough. I can't really complain because they weren't super expensive but don't expect anything really to be around without a car and a drive. Still I don't feel like there's anything really that screams a reason to be here unless the price is right, especially given the area.

The lady who checked us in was helpful, there was only a couple of minutes left to the Social/Happy Hour and she rushed us over and ensured the bar tender got us drinks. However, getting to our room was the start of the slide downwards. The elevators (four of them) took FOREVER and our room cards refused to open our assigned room - I went down to get replacement cards (ten minutes lost because of the elevators) but that didn't fix the problem. The lady who had checked us in had been replaced by a guy who had a less than enthusiastic attitude, he was alone and now he had like 3 reservations to handle plus us - he said he'd have an engineer come to our door, but after 20 minutes no one had shown so down I went again. So at near the 45 minute mark since check-in I'm told the engineer is maybe on some other project and there's really no ETA for him to get to us. And NO, we can't have a different room. Eventually I found that first staffer, the lady, and asked for help again - the engineer arrived about ten minutes later. He found the locks battery was dead and he hooked it up with a USB line to a battery pack. Finally we can get into room 801. We put our bags down and freshen up to go out to dinner, kinda later than we planned, no thanks to this hotel. Coming back from dinner we found the mattress was underwhelming, and the bathroom sink was broken. And the house phone, labeled for a different room BTW, didn't work. So that was that, we got our room changed, after another 30 minutes wasted on slow elevators and low grade staff. In the new room the bed was marginally better, so just acceptable but we found the shower very slippery, it felt unsafe, and there was some moldiness. And they wanted to charge me $20 to self park in an uncovered, unsecured space about 200 yards from the entrance - that sucked.

The Balcony and View of the lake in the distance was nice to wake up to. The 3 issues mentioned were a broken door key lock on the sliding door, the Balcony light that was burnt out which were reported the 1st day and weren't fixed. Then on the 2nd day the room above us had a leak. I thought on night 1 it was the sink being left on with a slight drip. However the next morning the ceiling started leaking in the tub. This was alo reported. You could tell there was a recent patch job however that must had broken off. I will stay in this hotel again this wasnt foinf to scare me off. Its a nice hotel to stay in and has complimentary breakfast and complimentary drinks between 1730-1930. See attached

Embassy Suites by Hilton Irving Las Colinas offered exactly that: a soft landing when we needed it most. Traveling as a group: my mother, my husband, our 12-year-old son, and myself can make spontaneity tricky. But the ease of securing a suite that could accommodate all of us felt like a small victory in the midst of an otherwise hectic day. From the moment we arrived, the tone shifted. The front desk agent greeted us with a warmth that felt genuine rather than scripted, and what could have been a routine check-in became something more thoughtful. One particularly welcome feature: the ability to choose our room. With her guidance, we landed on a space that felt tailored to our needs rather than assigned at random. The property itself struck a careful balance between polished and inviting. It was clean, well-maintained, and subtly festive an Easter-themed backdrop in the lobby offered families a chance to pause and capture the moment, a detail that felt both intentional and charming. Our suite delivered on every front. Spacious without feeling excessive, it featured a king bed alongside a pullout sofa perfect for our son plus a small kitchenette and dining table that quickly became his gaming station for the evening. It's these small, functional touches that make a short stay feel seamless. Later, I made my way downstairs for the evening reception. The bartender, navigating a steady crowd with admirable efficiency, kept things moving despite the rush. While the drink selection was modest, the atmosphere carried a convivial energy that made up for it guests unwinding, conversations flowing, the quiet hum of shared travel stories. I also found a pocket of calm in the lobby, where I was able to catch up on work another reminder that this is a hotel designed with real-life travelers in mind. We didn't have time to explore every amenity, but the overall impression was clear: refreshed, thoughtfully updated, and quietly dependable. In the end, it was exactly what we needed a comfortable, well-timed stay that turned a stressful detour into something unexpectedly pleasant.

Loved that they give two free drinks to the hotel bar each night for happy hour which was great for our group. Once you have paid for the service and sent them your passports you will not be able to get in contact with them again. You can leave message after message and never get a return call. I did not get the Visa's on or near the date promised. Also, when I received my credit card bill I had an additional charge that I did not authorize of $600 to the Chinese Visa Office Houston TX. This was on top of the $900 I had already paid International Passports. I tried to contact them and of course I can not get anyone to return my call. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I would give this company a D-. The only reason I do not give them an F is because I did FINALLY receive the Visa's two days before the travel date. BTW, the review below from John C. is John Chambers, he works for this company. Need to do employee of the month or bonuses for their employees, that's probably why they're on edge I'll start with the positives: the hotel itself is physically beautiful. The rooms have a luxurious feel, the layout is nice, and the cleanliness was up to par. Our room offered a stunning view of the Dallas downtown skyline and the bridge, which was easily the highlight of the stay. The Bad: Maintenance & Safety Issues Unfortunately, the beauty of the room couldn't make up for the lack of basic comfort. -AC Failure: Despite the 14-hour drive, we couldn't rest because the AC only blew hot air. Even after setting the thermostat to the lowest setting, the room remained stifling. Because the ventilation (ceiling vents) wasn't circulating air properly, any smells--from the bathroom or otherwise--trapped in the room, making it very unpleasant. It's like I drove to Dallas to have Sauna every night plus my sister smell -Security Concerns: Most concerning was that at 5:00 AM, someone tried to open our door from the outside. Then, 30 minutes later, someone tried again. Thankfully, we had the deadbolt and "Do Not Disturb" sign out, but it made for a very tense and sleepless night. The Ugly: Service & Communication The service was the most disappointing part. - When I first checked in, the receptionist was incredibly rude, responding to a simple question with an attitude and a sharp "What!" -I eventually had to contact corporate/headquarters just to get a response regarding the AC. (My stupid aunt recommended me this hotel, and when I explained the situation to my aunt, she told me to contact the headquarter because the ones here don't do anything) and When the receptionist finally called my room, she was defensive, asking, "You couldn't call me?" -I was asked to personally go check other rooms at 2:45 AM because she couldn't leave the desk. When I found the other rooms also had broken AC, she promised maintenance would "flip a switch" the next morning. Maintenance never showed up. The only switch they flipped was the 'nut mode' in my head. It's a shame because this is a beautiful property and we even stayed at another Crowne Plaza in San Antonio & Austin (5 star experience), but between the broken AC, the rude front desk, and the security scare with the door, I cannot recommend staying here until they address their management and maintenance issues.

However, during check in, we found the staff to be friendly and helpful. There were complimentary water and cookies in the business center by the front desk. You will need your key card to use the elevator for security reasons. The hotel room was clean but there was a lingering smell that I could not pin point what it was. We decided to deal with it after we had lunch and when we got back, the smell dissipated. Our window view faced the swimming pool which was closed due to the cold season and we could see the science museum which was shaped like a big white box with stairs on the side in the distance. Our room had all the necessary amenities and included, an ironing board, hairdryer, fridge, coffee making machine, toiletries and luggage stand which was in the cupboard. Everything was in working order. They have a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. I do recall breakfast was $18.99. Overall, our stay was pleasant and in a great location. Next to downtown and a short walk to JFK areas, Reunion Tower, AT&T Discovery District and Deep Ellum was about 25 mins walk away.
