I am very pleased with their service. My LG Dryer was making a horrible screeching sound and not drying cloths too well. I called Appliance Home Repair based in Torrance, CA (310) 872-9733 on Monday and they scheduled me for the next day. Steve showed up as promised and got straight to work. All the rollers were in bad shape. Steve replaced all the rollers and cleaned out the interior & vent where dust/lint Bunnies were multiplying. This was a back breaking job as he needed to remove the weighted top, front door panel and very large drum. After replacing all the rollers and cleaning the interior, he had to re-assemble all those heavy parts with sharp edges. I watched several You Tube Videos about Dryer Repair and thought about I or my husband fixing the dryer ourselves. The thought of being in traction for a few weeks nixed that idea. Our Viking refrigerator stopped working. Carlos came over quickly and diagnosed the issue, it needed a new inverter. I am not going to give this company a rating at all and I hope people read this and don't use their service. We had a service tech come out that was referred to us by LG to fix a problem we were having with our washer making a rattling sound. He acknowledged the problem, but the diagnostic test he did didn't provide him with a problem. This he said 'happens all the time'. But how's a company referred to by LG allowed to come out and not fix a problem and charge the customer (us) $85 and not repairing the washer! All he said was 'call us if it gets worse'. In the past service repair people have always charged us the service fee but the charge was always applied to the repair and in that case, the repair service referred to by LG didn't do this. I called Carlos late afternoon because our dryer was making a loud screeching sound. Our washer and dryer are outside and the loud sound I'm sure was disturbing my neighbors. He picked up the phone and was able to make an appointment for the following day. We were thinking of trying to fix it ourselves but watching YouTube seemed way too complicated and out of our skill set. He asked the model and had all of the parts with him. He fixed our dryer and replaced some other parts so it would last longer. He saved us so much money! I will for sure call him again for any appliance repairs. My husband and I were able to determine that the drain pump on our LG washing machine was broken. I called around to various other LG washing machine repair places. One place in Santa Cruz required a "deposit" before coming out and they had a two week wait. Two other places never returned my call. I am very happy to report that Carlos got my LG washing machine drain pump installed in thirty minutes. Carlos had the part in his van. I explained what seemed to be the issue and when he took the panel off the machine, the pump had a piece broken off. I am extremely happy with Carlos's workmanship and friendliness. I even texted my neighborhood friends since they could not recommend a repair person. I have had issues with my Miele dish washer. He was supposed to call me to let me know the cost of the parts. This never happened so I tried calling him and he was in a middle of a job and asked that I call back. At this point I'm hesitant that he's going to show for the appointment so I call the morning of to confirm and no answer or call back. I then try texting several times and no response. Our refrigerator was broken and we needed a repair ASAP. Carlos (senior I assume) actually answered the phone when I called and said he'd be out in an hour!! (It ended up being a couple hours, but still, of all the places I called he was the only one that actually was able to come right out, and most of the places I didn't even get a real person, and one place never bothered to call back). He was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable, and figured out what was needed, ordered the part and came back out to install it as soon as it came in (only a day later). I have a TWO MONTH old Jenn Air cooktop. It simply stopped working. The electronics went crazy. We followed the guidance on fixing what might be wrong and ended up calling Carlos ON A SATURDAY and he was more than willing to come and take a look. I was initially very excited about the work that Carlos did. He was very understanding when I missed our first appointment and he dropped by later that same day. His communication was excellent and he was very kind. But he claimed he was just charging me $75 for diagnostics and $60 for the replacement part (a door switch for our laundry machine). I've since checked out parts for sale online and it seems you can get the same part for $10. Maybe I'm wrong- I'm no expert, so I'm only docking 1 star. But I'd rather be told I'm being charged for a $10 part and $50 extra dollars for labor than to have it seem like I'm overpaying a lot for a part. He later called and left a message to confirm that he will order the part. We called back and left a message to please order the part. No one returned our calls. He quickly diagnosed the problem causing a water leak inside our refrigerator and fixed the problem immediately. I was very grateful for his prompt service particularly since LG informed me that they do not have any accredited repair people in Santa Cruz while the appliance repair services in Santa Cruz with whom I spoke do not service LG appliances, and in addition most of the appliance repair services seem to be backed up with work orders for a few weeks. We were having issues with our refrigerator for years. It leaked from the bottom freezer, and was having issues keeping the freezer completely frozen at all times. At least every few weeks we had to pull large chunks of ice out of the bottom overfill reservoir. Had other repair companies come out and look at the model for the leaking water, and they wouldn't touch it; told me to defrost it (like it was 1952). Called Appliance Home Repair on a Friday, and Carlos came out the next day; he would have shown up the same day but it didn't work with my work schedule. He had the fridge apart, and was working on it in a matter of minutes. He found the issue and repaired it the same day, and even did some minor cleanup maintenance that we should have been doing ourselves. After speaking with the owner of the company, he said to call the office and tell them what time he said to make the appt. I called the office and they said they would call the owner and call us back to verify the appointment. No call back for 2 days, I called the company, another day goes by. No call back. Normally I would've given up after the no return call, but since I had spoken with the owner and was given the appointment, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I called again. and waited for a return call and again, nothing. The appointment was scheduled for the following day, so the next day we waited for the scheduled window of time...and waited and waited and waited. No show. Three strikes your out. I have not dealt with Carlos Junior, but when Carlos Senior retires, I will call Carlos Junior and if Carlos Junior gives me the same level of service, I will stay with him, if not, I will look elsewhere. Contacted Carlos for a washer/dryer maintenance and repair. At first he was very punctual and showed up on time. He said he would need to order a part that would arrive the next day. When the next evening rolled around I gave him a call. The part had not arrived, so I took matters into my own hands and picked up the same part in San Jose for a fraction of the cost. I then called Carlos twice to touch base with him and give him an update, not to mention leaving a text since his voice mail was full. He did not pick up both times. Fast forward 7 days later and I have yet to hear a word from him. So after being charged a $75 "service fee" to simply look at my washer/dryer I am in the same situation. I had a similar experience as another reviewer here. My oven stopped working, called around, and Carlos from Appliance Home Repair came by the following day. He replaced the part that most likely failed, but didn't fix the issue. After more probing, he identified the part that needed replacement. Called his shop, said it would take 2 weeks to arrive. I said that's too long, and later I found the part myself online, bought it, and it arrived a few days later. I tried calling Carlos multiple times for him to come back and finish the repair, but it went nowhere. HIs voicemail is full, so can't leave a message. One time he said he would call me back with a timeslot, but he never called back. Finally I resorted to calling another shop to finish the job. Very friendly guy, correctly identified the problem, but I had a really frustrating time with communication and ultimately needed someone else to finish the job. I totally understand when businesses are swamped and overloaded, but at the bare minimum at least communicate to customers so they aren't left wondering what's going on. read more

After using Carlos 2x for easy fix on my dryer I called him about my fridge, which is more urgent in my mind because the food will go bad. He said he would call me back but never did. I called him again and he said he would be coming but never did. I even made a video and sent it so he could hear the clicking noise the fridge was making. This was over a 3 day period. Where he simply flaked. If he had said he didnt want to do it, or was too busy I would have done something else. But he said he would come and then never did for 3 days.
