They are not stingy with knowledge or recommendations; it's wonderful to have honest, local appliance repair professionals who don't talk down to you, but actually educate. The cousins determined that it was going to be a $500 transmission/gearcase repair; they recommended a new washer because of the wear on the other parts inside, over paying for an expensive and likely short-lived fix.
