Even when they appear busy, they still manage to have our three dogs ready within 3-4 hours after drop off and always call 30 mins before they are ready, allowing us the perfect amount of time to drive out there to pick them up! We made it expressly clear that we would be picking the dogs up on the following day at 3pm. Upon pickup, we were given a bill for two nights and referred to a line on their website (that we'd never visited) that states pickup must be by 1pm or they charge another day. While this is a good policy, it needed to be communicated before-the-fact. Owner was rather smug about it, and I left feeling very ripped off. (we would have picked our dogs up before lunch instead of after if we had been told of their policy before-hand). Made me wonder if they were hard-up for business. Other than that, the runs were clean and moderate sized and our two dogs were in decent spirits and good condition when we picked them up.

We had a lot of interactions with the School of Vet Medicine at VA Tech and were referred to RAH. Dr. Odom has been wonderful with our two puppies. They love the attention they receive from the staff. They listen to our concerns and are great communicators. They are currently doing Curbside Service. They come out and pick up your pet for their exam. Once in the room the Dr. calls and goes over the exam. Payment is taken over the phone. During an appointment this week the temps outside were 95+. The clinic brought waters to the customers in their cars. It included information such as WiFi password to help pass the time. I thought it was a great gesture. If you are looking for a vet on the north side of Charlottesville or Ruckersville, RAH should be considered.

For the…read morefirst 2 years my pets were treated there it seemed reasonably priced, but for the last several years the prices have risen dramatically, even accounting for inflation. Did a little research, and sure enough, since 2022 it has been part of the PetVets network, owned by the private equity firm KKR. These equity companies are not in the veterinary biz, they are in the profit maximization biz. The service provided is secondary to them. No disrespect to the fine vets who work there, but I just can't afford the bills anymore. Even routine visits produce budget busting tabs, and I'm not a poor person. 2 motion sickness tablets? $52. That's not a typo. My advice? Go to privateequityvet.org to find vet owned clinics that have more leeway on prices.

The website information is extremely lacking and at least some of it is incorrect. The website states that you can make an appointment on Sundays but that is an absolute lie and if you aren't okay with that, Jen will hang up on you. I guess one way to receive an extra day boarding for each dog is to not be open on Sundays. What person with integrity does that?? She is available for tours only on Saturdays...when she decides to work. And she is never at the location so I'm not sure who is actually caring for the dogs that people have entrusted to their care. When you call she is either rude or wishy washy. This woman has no business running a "professional" business or caring for ANY other living being. Thankfully I found all of this out with a phone call and not at my dogs' expense.

I am thrilled to have found Companion Paws! I have two 14 year old cats and had been taking them to…read morePender since I moved up to Northern VA. After moving out to South Riding, that was just too far to go. My poor cats HATE riding in the car and both sing (make that howl) through the entire trip making it a nerve wracking ride for me and them. So my husband and I were driving around in the country one day and saw a mobile vet service van. Who knew vets made house calls? I decided to look for a service in Chantilly and turned to Yelp where I found Companion Paws. Not many reviews yet, but all positive and genuine so I decided to give them a try. I am the crazy cat lady, or so my husband tells me, so their welfare and care is a highest priority. Don't tell anyone, but a vet was able to convince me it was necessary for my cat's blood pressure to be checked at $80 a pop much to my husband's chagrin! I made the appointment and was told they couldn't give an exact time, but they would arrive within a time range of one hour - totally understandable since they are making house calls. Dr. Foster and David showed up on time and I immediately felt at ease with them as did my cats judging how they were sniffing around. Both Dr. Foster and David were very good with my cats and made the typical stressful annual exam a non-event. I feel very confident they received a thorough exam. Dr. Foster had no problem taking the time to answer some questions and give recommendations about one of my cats less than desirable behaviors either. No stress, knowledgeable, caring service! Here is where I was surprised. I was expecting this service to be expensive. After all Companion Paws is coming to my home, using their gas and all at my convenience. No sticker shock at all when I was given the price for this service. The price was extremely reasonable and the cats even got a free pedicure. I will be using Companion Paws going forward - they have my highest recommendations!
