We have been here a few times,food always is good! I have my favorites. Waitstaff can be hit or miss, most of them are really friendly....wish Applebees didn't have that hideous loud music playing all the time... like some music, just tone it down! Let me start by saying that our server was very nice and did a great job. Walls are covered by pictures and items from the local high school and our two colleges. My sandwich came out scorching hot and the filet was juicy and very good, but for a bacon ranch filet, the bacon was dry, brown and disappointing and the fries were already about room temp when they got to me. The nachos had flavor and were good. I'm not the biggest Applebees fan in the world so perhaps my opinion is skewered but in my opinion this wasn't it. read more

The food was good, I ordered the Parmesan sirloin with positive results. The service sucked. I sat up at the bar my bartender/waitress was terrible. I asked for a unsweetened iced tea when I got there. She came back five minutes later and asked if I wanted a menu I told her I never got my unsweetened iced tea. She looked at me like I was not a customer. She did not apologize then she asked if I still wanted a menu. I told her that yes I do which I had told her when I came in originally. The ambience also sucked. I asked if they could turn the Timberwolves on the TV and she just looked at me and did not respond. I always leave a good tip then she saw her tip and wished me a good day, but I will not be coming back to this restaurant. read more

I saw someone in the comments section complain about the buffalo wings (over a year ago). Just wanted to give people an update. The wings are a lot better! If anything they over sauce them! But my husband loves that! Never too much sauce in his mind. I also think it depends on the cook. Sometimes we get them and they aren't as saucey. Tonight was the BEST night ever. I had Applebees in Northfield AGAIN, and this time instead of devouring the normal Cheetos bones less wings... I destroyed the FLAMIN HOT Cheetos boneless wings, and goodness gravy those were spicy. I was sweating through my clothes! I love Applebees so much and my heart goes out to whoever birthed this location. I hope you all have a great night. Don't forget to get lots of sleep tonight children. I usually order curbside to go at this location. The last time I went, my food was ready on time (as is typically the case). When I got home I realized I had been given my order along with someone else's. I had a chicken dish and so did my wife. Both of our chicken breast pieces were rubbery and while they tasted good, the texture was off-putting and reminiscent of raw chicken. The boneless wings and brew pub pretzels were good. Overall, the chicken really killed this meal. Update 12/24/19 Food was ready quickly again. Everything was good (we avoided the chicken dishes). My only complaints are that half of the wing dipping sauces were missing and the buffalo sauce was unevenly distributed on the wings (I.e. part of the wing was dry and unsauced while the other half had sauce). It was just kind of sloppy. I'm upgrading to three star, but I don't think I can go any higher. read more

It's one of the only "sit-down" eateries in Northfield, but it's an okay place to go. My fiance and I were shuffled between five different servers on a busy friday, but had a very attentive single server on other days. I've had mumblers that won't look me in the eye ("Sebastian"), and bubbly, energetic cheerleader sorts ("Mimi") that seem enthused to be there. It really is a roll of the dice when you go into this place. The food is always good: that is a constant. The atmosphere is decent. The bathrooms are clean. The floors are well-maintained. As for Applebee's this place as a little work to do to make it a great place to eat. Conditions are always warm, food is prepared inconsistent , quality control is needing some work. My kid got a corn dog that looked like it had been overlooked , my salad had so much dressing on it , it was hard to taste the food, my wife's food was par. On 3 different occasions I have tried this Applebee's and every time they never cease to let muse down burnt food or its soggy the waiters are never around I swear since they got those little tablets you can order and pay on came around they never even bother to ask how you are doing and maybe I want to pay with cash well might as well find the server other wise you will be waiting an hour to pay. read more

Been visiting this Applebee's for over 12 years, it is a satellite restaurant, not the same s the big guys in the cities.. If you want steak in this town it is the only place to go and for the price the steak is good, Mannie's, Ruth Chris or Outback it is not, but what do you expect for the price. Servers are always helpful and my drink is never empty.. Almost lost the triple chocolate melt down off the menu, we complained and it is still on the menu.. Visit this place twice weekly. Tonight is our 19th wedding anniversary and I do not feel like traveling to the cities, we will be there there shortly celebrating and know we will get a very decent meal, great service for the price read more

our waitress, auna, was very rude and did the bare minimum while serving us. the only time we saw her was when we ordered and when we got our bills. she occasionally walked by and asked how the food was but wasn't very polite. then, when it came time to pay, she gave us back our cards and started lecturing us on how it is so rude to not leave a tip and how the average is 20% when we were going to leave cash for her on the table (not to mention we are teens) she said to take it as a "learning experience" for next time. totally uncalled for. i did not tip her after she said that to me. read more

Went for dinner, not busy at all. Server was nice at first but then she was totally distracted by another table that was sat in her section. She literally sat down at their table and chatted for quite a while, while another person brought our food and drinks. She was totally unattentive. Had she paid attention she would have found out our food was colder than her service. Instead of asking how everything was she offered be a box. I have never had such horrible service at an applebees before. The manager walked right by us, looked at me as i said excuse me, turned his head and kept walking. Called in a Carside To Go. We got there 10 minutes later. No one came out and I went into the restaurant 10 minutes after that. When I got my meals, I not only was not given my change, they did not even offer to give me my change. When I got home the burritos looked like they had been thrown into the container, from across the room. I am not even sure how many burritos I got. Too mixed up to count. Absolutely no customer service at all. I felt like I was intruding on their time. The rating is getting one more star than it deserves. And like like Applebees. read more

I am very disappointed with the treatment of a table of teen boys this past weekend. They were well-behaved and ordered full meals, not just appetizers. The waitress (young, herself) was rude to them, rolled her eyes at them when they asked for glasses of water, and never even came back to the table except to give them their bills. I watched them the whole time they were there - they never were disrespectful or loud, but they were having a good time together. There was no reason for this waitress to be overtly nasty to them. I overheard one of them say he wasn't going to tip her much, because she was so nasty to them. I say she didn't deserve much of a tip, if at all. Shame on you for your treatment of these kids! RAVE! RAVE! Not only was the food and service excellent, but the entire staff is A+. They went above and beyond. First, Abby was a wonderfully welcoming hostess. She was quick to acknowledge us when we walked in the door, and sat us at a place that met our needs. Kate was the server, and not only was she efficient, she knew so much about the menu and food....from watching all her favorite cooking shows. Her recommendation to add lemon to the spicy chicken perfected the meal. One of the best servers we ever had. But Jody came through when we needed help. We left behind something in the booth after our meal. The next day we realized it, called them, and Abby not only found it, but put it aside for us to pick up later. A week later we picked it up, and although there was confusion with another similar item that was left behind by someone else, Jody never gave up on us. She found our missing item. She was professional, kind and didn't seemed the least bit bothered to help us. She treated us like family. I love this place and will visit here every time I am in Northfield. Thank you Applebee's. When we got there, we were put at a table that still had a receipt and tip money at it. We waited for at least 15 minutes before our drink order was taken. The couple next to us that was seated AFTER us got their drinks and food way before we did. By the time we got our food, we were a little agitated to find out that they messed up both of our orders. The server (not our waiter) seemed surprised that we were unhappy when our appetizers didn't show up until our entrees were served, we saw our waiter maybe four times total, and the food was as bland as always. Reminded we asked for coffee and water. Those were brought out. Sat for 20 minutes before waiter came with our meal. Reminded him about our sticks and asked for refills on drinks. Brought out sticks but no drinks. Flagged down another waiter to bring refills. Very very poor service. Food was so-so. Have more gift cards but affraid to use them in Northfield. read more
