One night arriving home my wife opened the door from our garage into our house in a hurry and the…read moredoor broke off the jamb at the hinges. I wasn't sure what to do, so I turned to Yelp to find someone to help me. After putting out a conversation looking for a handyman to help me fix this door jamb Chris at C&L was the first handyman to contact me. He was super helpful in offering prompt service and told me he could come out the following day. He gave me a really great quote, I thought it was too good to be true. After getting a few more quotes from other handymen I decided to go with Chris because he could get to me the soonest and he actually gave me the best price. Chris and his son arrived with a door jamb kit ready to rock n roll. Upon arrival they took some measurements and realized my door jamb was extra wide. They ran back to the hardware store and got the appropriate sized jamb. From the time they arrived, ran back to the store and completed the job it was just under 2 hours. These guys were awesome, quick and efficient. Chris's son did all the cutting and carpentry work on the new jamb while Chris cut out the old one and got it installed. They were also cool in letting me watch, I wanted to learn a little something because it seemed like a hard job but they did it with ease and Chris explained every step of the process along the way. In fact during the installation Chris explained why our door jamb broke, when the door was originally hung to the jamb the hinges weren't drilled into the stud but were drilled into the drywall. It was weak and only a matter of time. Once they were done the door jamb looked great. I was really blown away by their work. Before they left I showed Chris a couple other things I wanted to get done to my house and he gladly gave me a quote for the work. These gentlemen were fantastic and I WILL BE USING THEM AGAIN! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE IN NEED OF HANDYMAN SERVICES! Thanks again fellas, I appreciate your help in my time of need. We will be in touch soon. -Turtle

When they were ready to leave they went back and said goodbye to my parents. Their courtesy made them stand out from the other potential vendors that did not even acknowledge my parents, who were the ones paying for the painting of their home. They also provided solutions to a problem we had, removal of old furniture and taking it to the dump. The solution to this problem made it easier to say yes to starting the work. We were looking to have the interior painting done quickly and they started right away. They moved furniture as needed, being careful with each item. I also appreciated the care they took to contain the paint fumes as much as possible and protect items with plastic and tarps. Painting a large home with an elderly couple living there is not an easy task, yet Kevin and his crew worked diligently to get the job done as quickly as possible. They were sensitive to our needs and adjusted the schedule as needed to accommodate. At the end of each day they said goodbye and thanked my parents and I for the work. These guys are polite, and friendly problem solvers who take pride in their work. I highly recommend them and we will be calling them again when we are ready to do the exterior painting of the home. He initially noticed after taking the old lighting fixtures off that the job couldn't be completed due to a lack of a metal protective box that was missing. Danny told me that he couldn't just simply replace it because as it was, it was not in compliance with code. I thought I needed to reschedule Danny and his crew since I didn't have anything to place as a buffer between my lighting fixture and the house. Danny and his partners decided to do a quick run to Walmart to get the items that I didn't even know I needed. Once they returned, they quickly and professionally got the job done to my absolute satisfaction!!! Yes they had to cut out a small rectangular opening through the exterior but it was to fit the metal box! They caulked it and it is beautiful and I'm glad that they were there for me. Upon leaving, Danny reminded me that his work is guaranteed for a year and for that I'm very well pleased. I have a funny feeling that I may use them again or at the very least recommend these young men on my Nextdoor Neighbor app. Incidentally they accept Zelle (((smile)))

He quoted me an amount and at the end of this small project it kept changing . He promised receipts and that he would be done in one day . Never got receipts or the contract and the quote kept going up . First off he didn't show the first day of the actual job . He called off . He promised he had 5 guys under him to complete this in the time he quoted . Then the day he actually came he was late 1 hr . He didn't bring anyone else with him but one othh other guy ..He spent the whole day on the job just supervising his one employee while the other guy did all the work . At the end of the day he tells me he would have to come back to finish after promising it would be done . Later that day I call him to tell him I'm not happy with the work they did and I want my deposit back . He lies and never gives money back . Was told to Call his boss who I later find out its his wife and she tells me tough luck that job is complete and there not coming back .. He left the house dirty coke cans and slurpees trash everywhere . Plus he thought he was funny lying about hauling all the old baseboards away . He through them on the side of my house . I just found them laying there ... In 7 hrs no work was actually fully completed baseboards missing in all rooms not painted ! Walls with holes from pulling the original baseboards off . So do not hire !! I just filed a law suit in small claims so that this will not happen again to anyone else . He will be getting a summons and hopefully learn that he can't do this to trusting people . Hope he will not be able to work again knowing he does this to his clients . Good news I found a different handyman one who was trustworthy and honest and completed the work same day and with better quality ! Don't let people like danny think it's ok that they can do this and get away with it . Not acceptable

I received a lagging response from Lowe's and poor customer service from various companies I found via Yelp. Fortunately, the one person who was truly professional, responsive, cordial and honest was Freddie. 1) Communication: Freddie will respond to all your questions and concerns in a timely manner through Yelp chat, text messages and phone calls. He is respectful and very thorough in his estimate and work completed. He sends before, during and after photos to ensure accuracy of his job. Lastly, he comes on time and makes sure to complete the job with quality. 2) Job: I would say his job is top notch. He is very detailed in his work, making sure everything fits perfectly because he backs his work with warranty. He did a great job with the custom modification of my old kitchen cabinets to fit the brand new oven. He also hauled away the old oven and cleaned up after himself. 3) Pricing: I would say his pricing is reasonable because you always want a certified contractor to do a great job especially when installing an oven which you don't want to skim money on for a cheap job. He did throw in the free additional parts needed for the oven to work. He went above and beyond to make sure tenants and myself were satisfied. Overall I would recommend Freddie to help with jobs in your home. Just ask him for a quick quote and he will tell you what he can do to ensure you get the items repaired. Highly recommended and I will continue to use him for my other projects in the near future.

I contacted Francisco for cleaning, painting and popcorn removal; which came out beautiful. I received the Vinyl Plank floors and Ceiling Fans (I hadn't hired anyone yet but had shipped to the house) and Francisco said he could do the floors and fans also. What luck finding him, as he did the entire house/project with minimal supervision, he handled it all took a lot of stress off me. The House came out beautiful. Besides Electrical, his plumbing skills are great and he installed a new double-sink vanity in the master bath; it was previously 1 sink, so the plumbing needed changing. He also did the Closet Doors, the Faux Wood Blinds and changed all the outlets and more.  Francisco provided a couple soft suggestions and he was absolutely right!.  He genuinely saw the modern, updated, though renter and budget friendly theme I was going for and it seems he was genuinely helping me get my theme right, in a budget friendly manner, not simply expand his workload.  After the tub was refinished, new double vanity, new lighting, and large mirrors, he said "do you really want to put these shower doors back on (from the 80s) and he was right, the new shower doors which he gave me a great price to install, made the entire bath look new, modernized and updated.  He also mentioned the inexpensive Panel closet sliding doors, which really was needed and they did update the bedrooms a bit at a good price and look very nice.  His work was beautiful,he did clean up, he knows what he is doing, and I will definitely hire him again.  Actually, I did hire him again (I had to replace a water heater).  One thing to consider, if you are in a timeline, get an exact completion date. The project took about 3 weeks longer, than I anticipated, but it was worth it as the price and Francisco himself being great to work with and handling it with minimal supervision. The final project was everything I wanted.
