When we first started here it was awesome, the last few months I have been so upset at work that I have to leave my son in their care. The director told parents to come to her when there are issues and I did and for that I was treated like a complainer, I felt hated and I didn't care about me, but I worried they would treat my son differently. I suffered tremendous financial issues when my son was always sick and the school helped for a bit then I felt like a charity case and it was so uncomfortable to even walk in to the building to drop or pick up my son. His teacher would tell me how I "should" do things at home (even though my son suffers with developmental delays and autism). Then when the school helped with diapers the same teacher made us feel bad every day for not providing our own diapers in front of other parents (the director offered them, we didn't ask and yet we still felt like charity). I would leave the school and cry in the car sometimes because of embarrassment. I didn't want to go back to the director all the many times I caught my sons teacher yelling at him to "get on the rug" or snatching toys out of his hands. Then they removed camera access for whatever reason and I couldn't even check on my son in a school where I felt deeply uncomfortable going into myself. The last straw was when his teacher fired his Therapist without even asking me. I was so upset that I posted something on a group and suddenly I was public enemy number 1. I wish that the school would have been able to provide a teacher who was patient and understanding to my fears with my disabled son. I was so frustrated that I called the Apple Tree in palm city to transfer him because the staff there always made me comfortable and I never got a call back and I called again and they didn't answer. I realized then that the new owners may have gotten involved after I said my peace online about my frustrations (especially since the director did nothing to resolve the issue) and now I felt unwelcome by everyone including my sons new teacher. Even after they moved my son into a new classroom, somehow I still had to pick him up from his old teachers class (whom I was very uncomfortable with) two days ago and that was it. I removed my son and my family is all chipping in to help. Not once did the owners reach out to me to ascertain what the situation was with the school. I strongly recommend you look around. This school will start out great (it was great for almost a whole year) and eventually (especially after we received ELC funding) I felt like everything was going wrong and NO ONE cared. Moms with disabled children have so much to deal with at home we shouldn't have to worry about the school. I'm so upset that Apple Tree has gone so down hill. I Hope this helps someone. read more
