I like the Apple Store at The Trafford Centre, while the store is limited in size/appearance due to being a mall location, it's still a great store nonetheless and a very useful brand to have in the mall, which is located on the upper level. There doesn't seem to be as much going on at this Apple location, again compared to other larger stores, gone is the big LED screen and much of a seating area, but instead, you get the best selection of Apple products in the mall, the store is often well-stocked, in terms of product to demo and buy, and is spacious enough where you can demo the product without feeling crowded or like you are getting in the way. The selection of accessories is also pretty good, as well as the showcase of Apple's latest tech. As you'd expect with any Apple Store, the staff are friendly and their product knowledge is good. It may not be the most attractive Apple Store, but I still really like this one, with friendly staff and always a good selection of products, to demo and purchase. 4* read more

Brought my laptop to store as screen is glitching. Advised that it will cost £500 to fix, although was not told specifically what the issue is. They don't know know the issue but they know it will cost £500? This price is ridiculous as I've been advised that the issue could be screen connector to the motherboard, and that it shouldn't cost 500. Even more annoying is that I am still paying for this laptop! Update: Received calls from store about my experience, I asked them to call in the afternoon when convenient but they repeatedly called in the afternoon and now have stopped trying to contact me altogether. Very shoddy customer service. Please call me about my complaint asap. Apple certainly ain't what is used to be! UPDATE: Nearly a month later and I still haven't received my call!! The store is impossible to contact via phone and Apple chat is useless as they cannot do anything! Can the store please answer the phone? UPDATE: A manger was due to call me to help to me get through to the store via phone- yes, they organised a callback so an advisor could ring through to the store using the same tel number I do! It is ridiculous! No email or any other form of contact. I didn't get my callback so once again going through AppleCare. It has taken about 6-8 agents just to make a phone call to an Apple store and none of them has been able to make contact as the store do not answer the phone! Cust service is non-existent with this company! UPDATE: Still not able to contact store, numerous failed callback from managers, and useless Apple Care. All i want to do is speak to your store. Still waiting... UPDATE: Another callback failed!!! Apple Care call you, they cant get through to the store either, and so they leave you on the line holding!! UPDATE: Another failed callback. Visited the Apple Store Trafford Centre today, which was absolutely packed but I quickly found a member of staff (who works on the Genius Bar). He was really helpful, explained their queuing system and added me to his list then told me where to wait once I'd explained why I was there. Within a couple of minutes I was approached by a lovely young woman called Aisha who was really pleasant and helpful. She was so efficient, sorting out my replacement iPad and helping me with the Give Back scheme. It probably took less than half an hour to get my new iPad all set up, transferring all my data and deleting everything from the old one. Aisha made the experience really easy for me and I couldn't be more delighted with the service. Well done read more

The one thing I don't particularly like about Apple Stores is that they are always so packed. Of course it speaks to their product, but it can make going in to take a look at something a bit of a nightmare. I can recommend going earlier in the morning, less people! It looks exactly like other stores, so no surprise there. And staff can be difficult to spot, but look for navy blue shirts and iPads :) We had to stop in because Mr. Snarky's grand spanking new MacBook from his employer had a loose key. While it isn't a huge deal, I think we were more concerned about the kittens getting a hold of the button. One of them really likes to consume non-food items! Anyway, Mr. Snarky was able to make an appointment online, so we wouldn't have to wait for ages at the store. At the store, if you have an appointment, head to the back and look for a staff member as there is usually someone there checking people in for their appointments. It didn't take too long for someone to help us, but after disappearing with the laptop for awhile he determined it wasn't as simple as sticking it back on. They asked us if we could leave the laptop and pick it up sometime during the week, but as it is Mr. Snarky's work computer, there is no way he could part with it. So they gave him some paperwork and asked him to drop it off next weekend and that if we dropped it off before noon, it would be ready same day. It took about an hour and a half, but they called us when it was finished, so we could have a wander about the Trafford Centre. Everyone we encountered was very helpful and very friendly... although they didn't seem to want to take my 10 year-old iBook or iPod with spinny wheel for an Apple Museum. Darn. read more

This Apple store is much like every Apple store in a shopping centre. Lots of Apple stuff, big tables, people checking their Facebook and lots of people in blue tops. There are Apple Stores which are more special and more unique but this one is like most in shopping centres. Normally I go to the Apple Store in Arndale Centre but have had to come here a couple times in the recent-ish past. One time was to get a replacement iPhone and another time to get the (then) new iPhone - I was one of those people who queues! It was not on the launch day and about a week after I think but I still queued for about an hour. I had made the effort to get to the Trafford Centre so might as well queue now! Unless you are just going to have a play a gadget or buy something which you can just pick up from the shelves, I would recommend making an appointment with a Apple Genius. It may not always be necessary but you may be lucky but could save you time. Apple Stores are almost always busy but I was lucky once when they were able to see me and sort out my problem. You know what to expect from an Apple Store and if you just want to get some free wifi and play on some (in the words of Steve Jobs (RIP)/Tim Cook/Jony Ive) beautiful designed, intuitive, revolutionary devices, go to this or any other Apple Store. read more

Staff haven't got the time to provide a good service. Duty manager was arrogant. When asked to price match John Lewis they checked it was in stock on JL online. Then said they couldn't price match as website said couldn't be collected until 2pm the following day. Of course it couldn't they were looking at JL online!! As it was in stock they should have price matched, as other stores do. Went to JL and bought from them. Passed Apple store on way back, called in to show that it was in stock for immediate collection. The manager's attitude was that they haven't got time to ring stores and check stock. She said they're not bothered that we didn't purchase from their store as we still bought an Apple product!!! Great customer service skills and that's a manager!! Well we might have bought that phone from Apple for my son, but I changed this week from iPhone to Samsung. read more

The Apple store in the Trafforrd centre was an absolute joke. Over a dozen staff all milliing about outside, clogging up the walkway, chatting & faffing about, all of them less than 2metres apart. The store itself still had more staff in it & only two customers. It would appear I had to run the gaunlet of an 'interview' under the disguise of 'Corvid security tripe' before being allowed to walk pass all the staff at less than 2metres distance & then into the shop. One of the security measures was a man standing right in your face taking your temperature!!! It's distance apart that gives you the best security. I was going to purchase a new iMac & other accessories but decided against the hassel. I'll wait & check out the Liverpool store when next there & hopefully Apple will have sorted out their stupidity by then. Apple Store at Manchester - useless. Phoned Apple to get replacement battery. Waited a week for battery to arrive at store. Then advised by Apple to go to store without an appointment and wait until someone got time to fit it for me. Pathetic customer services.... waited for hours... eventually told to 'come back tomorrow' as they were 'too busy'.... (trying to sell their products rather than help someone who had one of their products)... to fit the battery. Was told this by one of staff. I asked to speak to store manager who backed up the staff member. Useless, greedy company with staff exactly the same. Avoid. Buy a Samsung galaxy phone instead. Or a high end Dell pc rather than an apple mac computer. read more

This is the first time I've ever visited an Apple Store and I was really impressed. All the various products are laid out on tables so you can experience them 'hands on' and there are plenty of staff members to advise you with any queries you may have. We visited on a Wednesday morning in January and the Trafford Centre itself was relatively quiet however the Apple Store was bustling. There were a couple of tables set aside for 'Workshops' which seemed to be tuition sessions for beginners or people just wanting to learn more about their Mac system. They also have a whole bunch of experts helping people with product queries, I think this is called a 'Genius Bar'. My shopping companion purchased a computer and the process was efficient and professional in every way. I have to confess to being a big Apple fan so I was a bit like a kid in a sweetie shop here but managed to resist temptation on this occasion! read more

Never had a problem here until today, my daughter bought the new iPhone ;£1100!) and was recommended to use an apple case so I bought her the silicone case £45, within a few weeks it cracked on the corners do I wanted to exchange it, the manageress came and accused my daughter of being rough removing her case and as it wasn't cosmetic damage nothing I could do!! If you're a fan of anything Apple, you'll love this place. The shop design is open and engaging, reflecting the values of Apple itself; and there's a great emphasis on hands-on learning with free demonstrations, tutorials etc. There are plenty of machines to 'play' with, which makes this store a must-visit when we go to the Trafford Centre with our two kids (aged 3 and 5) -- they feel they've missed out if they don't have 5 minutes using the demo machines in store. There always seem to be plenty of assistants around -- all seemingly very young and trendy (help: I must be getting middle-aged). But all in all an excellent place to browse. read more

Hello, I recently visited the Apple Store in the Trafford Centre, Manchester. The battery of my iPhone 5 had swollen and the front had started to lift. The phone still worked. I checked in and told they should be able to replace the battery. When I got to the Genius bar I was told the battery will have damaged all my internal workings and I would need a new handset at the cost of £200. I declined the offer. I took it to another Apple dealer and the battery was replaced all working fine. Hence be careful with this store trying to sell you something you don't really need. read more

Gota say do no know if the 1st reviewer bad a bad week or day and this just pushed him over the edge but wow was he wrong! Like him however I visited the apple store with dread thinking god knows how much am I going to pay for this replacement. My mag charger had stop working and because I'm out of warranty I was expecting to pay a fortune just to replace it. So I booked a "genius" appointment got there early waited around 5 mins or so and a tech came and found me and asked me the issue I was having. I explained and she ran a diagnostic tested the charger the fuse and plug itself and determined like I had it was the mag light charger portion. Here's where it got good she said il fetch u a replacement and then your good to go! She came back with replacement explained because id bought it from the apple store online I had "wiggle" room and would receive no charge despite what my receipt said Result! The woman did her business diligently and quickly and the problem was solved in less than 20 mins and a free replacement can't argue with that! Well done apple and your geniuses! read more

For a global tech company the Apple Store callback text system is dire. I am still sitting in store, no idea when I will be seen. The reason: the text system is sending rogue messages of when appointments are available. None of the staff are able to advise of a time that will be free - it will be today, but that's 4 more hours... most staff just interested in flogging watches to kids. I did want an ipad, not so sure now... store is busy as people waiting to get broken products fixed. read more
