I do like this place and appreciate it's presence in the neighborhood, but I did get quite sick after eating the sushi.

Let me preface this by saying my non-Yelp kid had already visited Manahel months before I ever…read morestepped foot in here. She splurged on a few honeys and had nothing but good things to say. So one Saturday afternoon, I finally stopped by with my mom. The space itself is airy, with like floor-to-ceiling windows that let in beautiful natural sunlight. The sun hits these whimsical, almost 18k-gold-looking sculptures on their shelves, giving the shop an elevated feel. The shop is small- but it's the kind of place where you want to slow down and really look around. Manahel offers a nice variety of Yemeni honeys, each with its own benefits. I ended up choosing a ginger honey and another infused with lemon, while my mom went with the ginger for herself too. In addition to honey, they also carry oils for hair and skin, which was a nice bonus and made the shop feel more holistic instead of it being one-note. Let's talk price- it's definitely on the steeper side. The smallest jars I purchased were about $30 each. For me, it felt like it was for the greater good- especially since I teach and my students are always sick. It was quality, intention and something I'm actually using for my health and wellness. There are still a few other items I have my eyes on. Honestly, Manahel feels like a 3-in-1 spot where beauty, their tradition and wellness come together- and that to me, makes it worth to return.

Beautiful store, the owner is so welcoming & friendly. Their honey is phenomenal & healing. I'll…read moredefinitely be going back! Happy Yelping!

Mosner Family Brands - Butcher Class 1-17-2013 - Great Time.

The class is called "The Art of Butchery," and the Mosner family proves that it's an art. Seth,…read moreJessica and Ben Mosner, along with master butcher Chris Bauso, make the day fun, informative, and practical. To begin, once you're enrolled in the class, Seth provides you with all the information you'll need, from how to get there to how to dress. Whatever you do, pay attention to the dress code! It's cold in that meat locker! Kept at a uniform 32 degrees F, the hanging meat isn't the only thing that freezes... When you arrive, you suit up in butcher coat and two layers of gloves (cotton/acrylic for warmth, blue latex for food handling safety). Then Ben takes great delight in leading the "Meat Cheer." This breaks the ice (so to speak) nicely, and sets the tone for the next couple of hours. Then it's on to the fun part -- getting to know our meat! Did I mention that they have a whopping 250,000 pounds of meat on hand? That's 125 TONS. And that's what they go through in a week! One can't help but notice how absolutely spotless and odor-free the facility is. I mean, this is clean enough that my Grandmother would have found nothing to complain about (and she was a fanatic when it came to cleanliness!). Seth, Ben and Jessica took the class through the facility showing us an entire veal carcass, explaining what veal is and how it's raised, and answering any and all of our questions. Next, Jessica explained to us what meat labeling is all about. Think you know what "ALL NATURAL," or "NO HORMONES" mean? Curious about the difference between "GRASS FED" and "GRASS FINISHED?" Want to know if cows like corn? These mysteries and more were all revealed, some of which came as quite a surprise to the class. Then, we did an about face and watched a true artist at work. Chris Bauso, master butcher, made quick work of an entire loin of a hog, quickly and efficiently reducing it to chops, roasts and stew. We were admonished to pay close attention, as it was our turn next. But first, we were offered the opportunity to purchase prime meat from the Mosner's, and all at wholesale prices. Beef, pork, lamb...what could make a carnivore happier? I'll tell you what, exotic meat. Alligator, kangaroo (two kinds, I think), rattlesnake, rabbit (OK, not too exotic, but still). Finally, the main event. On to the butchering floor for our hands-on lesson. We were all given half of a hog loin, either the roast or chop end. Working with knives that are sharp enough to shave with (and kept that way by honing them every five minutes or so), we worked at recreating what we'd seen Chris do. I won't tell you whether I succeeded, but I will tell you that I enjoyed myself no end. And, as if all of this weren't enough, at the end of the day, the meat you've butchered is packed, vacuum sealed and boxed up for you to take home. Does it get any better? Actually, it does. The best part of the day for me came when I asked Ben, "So when will we get to see your reality TV show?" Ben chuckled and said, "Never. It's not like we haven't been approached, but we lack one crucial element of reality TV. There's no conflict between us." And it's true. One gets that idea that this family truly likes one another, and that they share a mutual respect that's rare. They really give the impression that not only are they family, but, at least for the time you spend with them, you're family too. And it really doesn't get better than that. If you're a carnivore, take this class. Between what you learn, and the fun you'll have, it'll be worth its weight in pork! Seth, Jessica, Ben and Chris, thanks for a great day!

The whole event was very organized (including before hand). As we moved around their building all the stations were set up, so there was little hanging around. My class was split into a few sections, after a little team bonding and shouts of "meat" we got going. Firstly a run through of the anatomy of animals and things to look out for or attributes that change taste, we even touched on a few ethical issues which were interesting. Secondly Jessica ran through food labeling which was very interesting, I consider myself pretty well educated on meat purchasing but learnt a few things (I didn't know to look out for 1000% grass fed vs grass fed). Finally we got into the butchery section, initially with a demo then an attempt ourselves. I definitely learnt a lot of techniques I could use and they helped you throughout. Overall the class was great fun, the instructors were very helpful and at the end I had a lot of delicious meat to take home. Highly recommended. Matt

We chose this spot for a family reunion, and they made us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we walked in. The food was incredible. I had the Pork Chop Scarparo--perfectly cooked and full of amazing flavor. The pasta was spot‑on too and cooked just right. I had the garlic and oil side dish which was simple but delicious. There are plenty of great places in the area, but Antonios definitely deserves a spot on your list. It made our family gathering feel special, and the meal was unforgettable.

Came with a small bowl of marinara. + Baked Clams Oreganata - LOTS of flavor. It was savory with the herb- and garlic-infused breadcrumb mixture and baked perfectly. + Chicken Marsala - 2 pieces of flattened and tender sauteed chicken breast with sliced mushrooms all around. Chicken was drowning in a suppppper delicious marsala wine sauce. Unfortunately, it was not served with any pasta to soak up the sauce. + Fruitti Di Mare - LOTS of delicious seafood - clams, mussels, calamari, shrimp - in marinara sauce. All of the seafood sat on a bed of spaghetti. + Kids' Spaghetti and Meatball - Solid spaghetti and meatball and what you would expect for a kid portion. + Kids' Chicken Parm with Ziti - DELICIOUS parm and sauce. One can argue that this was actually enough of a portion for an adult! + Nutella Pizza - Soooooo gooood. Super warm, thin, savory, a little sweet. Honestly, the best part of our meal. + Menu was traditional Italian and had a lotttttt of delicious foods that we wanted to try, but we only had so much space. THE SERVICE ------------------- + Food came out pretty quickly. - Waiters didn't give us much attention and when we were handed the bill, the waiter just kind of dropped it on the table and walked on, which was strange. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- + 2 adjacent dining rooms. Main dining room includes a bar and TVs, while the 2nd dining room is more spacious. = Entire bar area was filled with diners and folks watching college football. - Street parking only and can be challenging to find a good spot during weekend dinner hours. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Walked in with a party of 8 at 5:30 PM on an Autumn Saturday evening and were accommodated with a table immediately. = Was pretty crowded on a Saturday evening and there was a wait for some folks who arrived around 6-7 PM, but no wait before 6 PM.

Now, I'm sure commercial landlords are used to tenants asking them to rearrange window and door placements on the street front, but to pull down the front wall entirely? I don't think I've ever seen that before. So... needless to say, this place never closes! There's always a really huge selection of fruits and vegetables out front (hence the name of the store, I think) and they're all really reasonably priced, if not downright cheap. Other than that, it's just a really large bodega with an unusual selection of herbs and chilis and other such things I don't recognize from my conservative suburban upbringing. :) Mostly I just enjoy coming here to make jokes about not being unemployed in Greenland. But that just goes to show I've seen The Princess Bride far too many times.

Best spot if you want authentic Mexican food. Location: It is located in Morris Park, outside it looks like a grocery store but when you go in there is a small cashier that you can order the food. Also the grocery store has a lot of Mexican items that you can buy. Service: The server was nice, she gave me good recommendations. Food: All that I ordered was delicious, we finished it in one sitting because everything was delicious. PORK TACOS: omg the servings is huge and everything on it is fresh. I loved the green sauce to put on it. It was by far the best tacos I ate here in NYC. GUACAMOLE and CHIPS: another favorite! The guac is very fresh, they just made it when you order. The chips are crunchy too unlike other places that chips are already soft. Price rating: 6/10, it was not that bad for the price. All foods are good!
