It was so challenging to select a daycare provider for our infant - I think I toured every option for infant care in Petaluma. As soon as I met Katy I felt a sense of ease. She sat down on the floor of her home with me and simply got to know us! She shared her history and philosophy with me and I felt so much different than I had during tours at other places. While I still wasn't thrilled to be leaving my son, I truly felt calm about leaving him in her care. 18 months later I can tell you that Katy has become an extended part of our family! I trust her completely with my son. She's patient, fun, smart and so engaged with the kids. She fosters an environment that I try to emulate in my home - it is safe and clean, she creates toys and activities specifically for each child based on their needs and interests, serves nutritious and delicious foods, and makes the children know they are cared for! I couldn't ask for more of a partner in a caregiver for my son. And, not only are my husband and I big fans of Katy, my son loves her to pieces! He talks about her at home, waves when we drive by her house, and lights up when he sees her! It warms my heart knowing he is so comfortable and happy with her. I'll also say that her communication with parents is top-notch - you'll get updates on your child's daily progress, their development strides (which she tracks in a really fun way!) and regular pictures of them enjoying their day! You'll never get home and wonder what kind of day they had, if they ate well or napped well - you'll know because she is a thoughtful and expert communicator. She'll even help you identify trends during transitions (like from 3 naps to 2) that are extremely helpful! Katy runs a small operation with just a few children each day, so you know your child is getting plenty of attention. Plus, Katy creates a comfortable and inclusive space for all of the families. I can't count how many times I've had dinner at her house with the other families. This sense of community is really appreciated - not only do I enjoy getting to know the parents of the other children, but I've made new friends and a network of support that is so important during these years! I was totally worried about leaving my 12-month old at daycare, but Wendy is down to earth, experienced (been running a home daycare for something like 25 years), very easy to connect with, and was one of only two daycares I toured that cared about feeding the kids healthy food...plus, she understands special needs like gluten intolerance. The location is great for us (down the street in Rincon Valley) and the hours work for those of us that work long days (open 7:30am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday). When she takes vacation, she always gets a substitute so there aren't any lapses in care. And of course the most important part is our son likes her too. She has a big yard that the kids play in and it's a very casual atmosphere for kids to be kids. The kids also do activities -- coloring alphabet letters, projects to celebrate holidays like Father's Day, and other fun things. She has rules for the kids (like no running in the house) and she is very consistent in applying those rules which helps kids to know what is expected of them. She and her family are also very environmentally conscious which I like -- solar panels, rainwater catchment barrels, fruit trees. I highly recommend Playtime Daycare.

We brought our son when he was 9 months and then a couple years later we brought our daughter at 6 months. They always walk right in and are so happy when we pick them up. I love that they cook all their food so we know they are eating healthy. They speak Spanish and English throughout the day and it's clear that our kids have picked up a few things. She is flexible, working with us around doctor appointments and vacation time. Any concerns we had she would talk openly with us about. Our son has severe eczema and she always took extra care to make sure his skin stayed hydrated and clean. Him and our daughter developed food allergies and she always made sure not to keep those items around. She would also take extra care after doc appts, knowing they just had shots. Maggy's Home Daycare is a beautiful home environment that is full of fun and play. I would recommend anyone to this place if they are looking for big family vibes.

My husband and I are both nurses with busy, demanding schedules, and leaving your child in someone else's hands is never easy. Vanessa and Jose gave us such peace of mind. We could go to work knowing George was safe, happy, and with people who genuinely knew and cared about him. George is a busy little boy with a huge personality! He's sweet, funny, sensitive, energetic, and sometimes prone to those very big toddler feelings! Vanessa and Jose understood him so well. Every day I picked him up clean, smiling, content, and completely himself. They even somehow got our busy boy to nap with the other children, which still feels like a miracle! He also learned so much during his time there. He came home counting, singing his ABCs, using new words, and constantly surprising us with new things he knew. As he heads to preschool, I feel so confident that he is ready, and I know Vanessa and Jose played a huge role in giving him that foundation. Their home is warm, nurturing, and full of joy. They genuinely know each child (personalities, routines, quirks, and when they need a little extra comfort). I value Vanessa's flexibility of my schedule as it varied upon enrolling my tot. She made the transition smooth and her hours of operation, situated well. Being a first time mom, letting my tot go to daycare, was a bit nerve racking but Vanessa's process and communication, put my mind at ease. It is a huge added and beneficial network that babysitting on the weekends may be possible per request and planning. My toddler learned and grew noticeably here from Vanessa and Jose's (family run) dedicated care. There's a good balance of activities & I'm glad that there were a couple of other toddlers that were around the same age, in terms of months, with my toddler since he learns by mirroring a lot of the time. Nina showed me a tour first with active kids there, she showed me where they work, learn and play. Outside she has a wonderful play ground, toys and even interactive water toys to play with in the summer. She teaches the children lessons, sing alongs, arts and crafts every day with so much youthful energy. Her helpers and her also provide such a loving environment, my child never wants to leave. The communication of how my child's day was is expressed she sends my child off back to be with so much positive energy. Every child I see in Nina's day care is so happy and adorable! Our son brings home projects every day. They explore and learn through music, dancing, art, books, walks, and so much more. They even raise real butterflies and release them outside. My 2-year-old knows more about metamorphosis and chrysalises than I ever did. - Michelle is licensed for more children but chooses to care for only three at a time. This allows each child to receive exceptional attention and care. Smaller group also means significantly fewer sicknesses for kids. We have friends in bigger daycares and their kids seem to be constantly sick. Michelle is very diligent with cleaning and health issues and our son has been sick only a handful of times in 2 years. - Michelle has also been an amazing partner for us as parents. She helped us navigate so many milestones. Potty training was incredibly easy because of her! We trained at home for one weekend, and then she took over at daycare - and our son was potty trained.
