Elvis Stamps

I am originally from Virginia Beach but during the pandemic I found myself in the area and happened to walk in and was amazed at all the stuff they had. Now I am a big Elvis Presley fan and I was amazed at the selection of Elvis stuff they had. They have all sorts of neat stuff, I constantly find myself going back to see the new things but the previous people claimed to have seen nazi memorabilia and that the people who work there are racist. None of them were racist to me and I'm African American, and as far as the nazi stuff goes I didn't see any. My overall conclusion is I appreciate the people who work there and for keeping it up and running during these hard times. Thank you for giving me a wonderful experience would rate 10/10 if it was an option keep it up- J.H.R

I always love going inside to see what great finds I can use as props for my photography shoots. Very helpful staff and there's always something new to find. Some items are a little on the pricey side but it is what it is.

When we walked into the front if the store, we were impressed with the copious displays of particular kinds of glassware.

A fun little vintage/antiques shop tucked back off the street, Those Were the Days is a great place…read moreto wile away an hour if you are a lover of the old or the quirky. It is set up like a typical antiques mall with items provided by different vendors, so you'll see some items priced higher than others based on who the vendor is, but I found the prices overall to be good. I stocked up on vintage glass decanters that were priced well below what I would normally see at similar stores in other cities, which was surprising given that resort town prices are often inflated. We met a vendor as we browsed, a friendly older gentlemen who asked about the items we were inspecting and told us where he sources most of his wares, and the lady who checked us out was also helpful and kind. Lots of records and toys, but you'll also find all the variety of items you expect in an antiques market. Finding the set of chicken decanters and the world's largest witch's broom were worth the trip even if I hadn't scored so many of the decanters I was searching for that day. We will definitely make this store part of our itinerary every time we return to Sugar Mountain.

Was really fun to look around but sadly most of the booths priced things way too high. I'm from…read moreWilmington NC and our thrift and antique stores carry many of the same genre of items for half the price of what they were being priced at here. Left empty handed. Nothing was worth the price.

This came up on Yelp during my search for antique stores in Hickory. This is NOT an antique store…read morebut it's a pretty cool furniture store with what seemed to be reasonable prices.

A very nice consignment store, well laid out, up and downstairs. Lots of stuff, although all we…read morewanted to see were chairs. Help was available and they were very helpful. We saw one chair we liked. It would fit our needs, was the acceptable color, material and size...a la my wife's seeking standards. Did we buy it? Of course not. Hickory is loaded with furniture outlets, so off we went a exploring. A couple of more locations and them the big kaboom: the Hickory Furniture Mart. Another review coming on this enormous, four level block-filling edifice containing just about any manufacturer and style of furniture one could imagine. We did not find anything that was better than the one at The Hickory Tree, so after some coffee and lunch at the Olde Hickory Station (see that review), we returned to the Hickory Tree. Since this was a consignment store, all items had a sales price tag with the prices listed over time. What I mean is that a price of $175 was scheduled to cost $150 on the first of the next month, then it would cost $135 the next month, and so on. This being the middle of the month, and not wanting to risk the desire chair being sold while we waited, we bought it...right then. They accepted credit cards. With the help of a young man we loaded this chair into our SUV and were off for home. An excellent, but exhausting furniture shopping experience that I survived. Before you blow your mind out looking for furniture all over, start here at the Hickory Tree. Prices reasonable and mark-downs abound. And nice people.
