The work is good but that's when things started to turn. First during the job Mitchell got the step wrong but in my favour added an even larger step. I heard him then yell at Joseph. When the job was done I was able to get my neighbor to use them for a job. And they used my water. ( I love my neighbor and would have allowed them to use my house/water, but me or my wife were never.asked and I only saw a kid under my deck turning on/off my water.. When I asked Mitchell why, he said don't worry I gave you an upgrade on the step. Now the last thing is there's a part of the pathway to the side of the house where the brick is separating/falling and I've been asking Mitchell to come and fix ( he said it's under warranty, at least what Joseph mentioned to me) it's been 2 months no show. Joseph and Mitchell aren't working together anymore and it's been stressful trying to figure out who can come and fix it. Would I recommend their work? I did before but now after experiencing this I would say just go deal with Joseph directly who has his own landscaping company (njx) I'm still willing to change this review as the work was done well by Mitchell, just a small fix is needed but the whole experience was basically a shitshow

My neighbour and I signed up on July 11, 2020 to get a driveway extension and interlocking…read morecompleted. The man who we have only met in person and talked to was Joseph. We were under the impression that he would be doing the work. He signed us up under a contract with Can-Loc Interlocking and had to pay a 10% deposit. Can-Loc Interlocking is owned by Mitchell Nugent. There were a lot of promises that he would come on a certain day to do the work. We were initially told he was booking 2 weeks out from when we called to sign up but it took a month for Joe to come and complete the excavation which occurred on Aug 6, 2020. Once the excavation was completed, he said that the interlocking would be completed soon. He never gave us a date. Since August we have been following up with Joe numerous times and he keeps saying that Mitchell will be here on a certain day but no one shows up. I have a screenshot of Joe's and Mitchell's text messages indicating that Mitchell doesn't care about when he starts and he doesn't care that he starts in November. He also indicated that he doesn't have to give us any updates. At that point Mitchell had never reached out to us. He finally replied to my text message on Sept 24 saying he would be here the following week. It's now December and he's yet to arrive. Every week he had an excuse of being tied up and couldn't make it. On Oct 9, we decided to change the brick colour to get the work expedited because we found out the colour we want was not available by calling a local store. Mitchell then said that he can 100% be here the following week once we changed the brick colour. On Oct 14, he said Best Way Stone would be delivering the bricks on Saturday. Nothing arrived so then he said Monday-Tuesday. Nothing arrived again. He then said he would pick up the bricks himself on Wednesday and be here end of Wednesday or Thursday. I have followed up with him since Thursday and he hasn't responded to my calls or text messages. In fact, he has never returned any of my calls. We have paid 55% of the entire cost and so far we just have a big hole in the front of our driveway's.

I can't trust you or anyone associated with your company to do any additional work for me. I just found out that instead of doing a proper roofing job, Terry ordered his helper to install the 7 bundles of shingles I paid for, over the existing shingles & they were hammered onto the existing shingles with short nails. What reputable company does that? The worker was told not to replace the original shingles. Now I not only have a worse leak from the flashing Canada Fence "replaced" but also a worse leak from the roof. Canada Fence charged me $2,700 + tax for this inferior job. Just like the used fence post he installed & charged me for a new one. I noticed right away it was cracked. If anyone wants pictures of the flashing, shingles & post, I've got them. All Terry was interested in was getting money etransferred to his personal email daily. Canada Fence should be investigated by whoever issues business licences & the CRA. When they saw a vulnerable person, they sure took advantage of the situation.

Jermaine came out right away and took measurements and got details of what I wanted. He later gave me a call with a very reasonable quote and I confirmed that I was happy with the quote and wanted to move forward. I advised Jermaine that I needed an official diagram of the work that would be done so I could have it approved by my condo board. After signing an agreement that I am going to be working with them, I had a beautiful, detailed diagram to present to my condo board for approval. Once I had the approval, we signed our official contract and went over the payment schedule and Jermaine and his crew completed everything from start to finish in 5 days. I was extremely satisfied with the whole experience. My fence is beautiful. Jermaine is very hard working and professional, friendly and polite. Shana handled all communication and emails and inquiries I had during the whole process and her customer service was amazing as well. I highly recommend this company to anyone in durham. They are outstanding. I've already requested them for my next job of redoing my patio and laying fresh sod and I am excited for the end results, because I know Jermaine will do an amazing job. You can see before abd after photos of the bushes that were removed and the fence and retaining wall that were installed.

With 2 large dogs, we cannot let them get out of our yard, and we had held our collapsing fence together with several beams of wood and large pots filled with rocks. I contacted 6 companies. Need A Hand was the first to respond. Jermayne, the owner, showed up soon after to measure the fence, ask us our preferences, and gave us a quote on the spot! Eventually, we had a few other quotes, and Need A Hand was the most cost-effective of all, and they had several suggestions for strengthening the fence so that it was not as susceptible to winds (we live in a wind tunnel!). Jermayne and his crew were pleasant, responsive to suggestions, and built a very beautiful fence in timely fashion. They left the yard in pristine condition, and even managed to preserve some of my plants, including heirloom roses. Those have nasty thorns, but they willingly worked around that. The results were great. For a professional job, pleasant and reasonable workers who will listen to you, and offer you a reasonable price, Lend A Hand may be the place for you to go if you need home repairs. Located in Oshawa, they quite happily worked on our Pickering location. I highly recommend checking them out if you are looking to make outdoor or indoor repairs or improvements.

Hired this company in 2025 and regretted the decision almost immediately. What was promised to be weekly lawn cutting, bi-weekly flower bed clean-up, and both Spring and Fall clean-ups turned out to be completely arbitrary with expected tasks not completed or completely forgotten. On numerous occassions Shakeel promises you one thing and never delivers. He doesn't do any of the work himself and contracts everything out resulting in little to no awareness of what was, or was not done. What's worse is that there is no accountability and you'll end up chasing him to complete what was both paid for and promised, often with little to no results. If I could give this company zero stars, I would. Avoid at all costs. My only regret is not seeing the review posted on Feb. 6th, 2025 before contracting with this company.
