I have had nothing but great care from Apex Dermatology. My first several visits and care came from a Nurse Practitioner Deb Song who was willing to work through various treatments to find the one that worked right for my psoriasis that I had for years and struggled to find the right treatment. After I got blood work to start a possible treatment I somehow was given an immediately open appointment with Dr. Tracy by accident. She noticed a few things and did a biopsy which resulted in finding out I had something else along with psoriasis. She offered a treatment and so far it is working great. I actually switched from a different aesthetic clinic in Beachwood because I thought Apex was supposed to be good. I didnt care for my $100 consult with Dr. Tracey, the patient rooms looked kind of dirty given the exorbitant prices of the treatments, and my very first appt was canceled and instead of being given a different provider to do the same treatment, they flat out canceled it. I have now been on hold for 10 minutes trying to ensure the appointment is actually canceled and these people won't charge me a late fee. Bottom line? You could probably find somewhere better than this, with nicer staff, better prices, and a nicer space. read more

The worse healthcare service I have seen since 2020. I finished my antibiotic medication and was qualified for Accutane on 5/20/25. I was told to do blood work and do my iPledge, and I did it all within 2 hours of my appointment. After I went to CVS pharmacy, they said "Your dermatologist didn't do the pre-authorization form." I called Apex and no one picked up on 5/20/25 or 5/21/25. They only called back on 5/22/25 after I left a 1 star review. Then I called back again on 5/23/25 b/c I knew it was my last shot before the weekend. But no one cared. I told the Apex rep, "You can do the authorization on the phone with the insurance, they pick up fast. You'll get them even faster on the line as a medical office." Her reply was, "When I have a minute to sit at a computer, I'll take a look." I replied, "If you don't get this approved by today, I will change providers." So I hung up. Now I have been without medication for 5 days as of today. I called CVS on 5/24/25 around 1pm and they said, "Your dermatologist dropped the ball. Not only did they not do the pre-authorization completely, they never did the iPledge. But you did everything on your part." I have wasted the entire week doing someone else's job. You are literally the slowest, most unprofessional and uncaring medical staff I have seen or dealt with, period. Now I will be without medication for 1 week, as of Tuesday 5/27/25. Shame on you. I had a Mohs surgery over a month ago. I had knee replacement surgery a couple of years ago and my doctor and I are always concerned about infections. I called the Mohs nurse hotline over a week ago about my concern over my wound not seeming to heal properly and made a follow up call a day after that and an email a couple of days ago. I had an initial consult with Allye to discuss treating a scar with microneedling. She quoted $100 per treatment, and I would need 3 to 4 treatments. I agreed and scheduled first treatment about a month later. I saw another practitioner, Halei, with no explanation (as to why it wasn't Allye). I was quite surprised when I was told the cost would be $150. Again, no explanation. Since I was eager to do something to minimize my scar, and had waited a month, I, regrettably, agreed and had the treatment. In retrospect, however, I'm pretty upset with myself for agreeing to a 50% increase in the price that I was quoted. So, when a staff member phoned me to confirm a second treatment that I initially scheduled, I declined and cancelled. As I was explaining my reason for cancelling, the staff member hung up on me. I will no longer be using Apex dermatology. I have gone there twice to have the V beam laser treatment, and both times came away extremely disappointed. Dr. Tracey blows through this $800 procedure in about three minutes. I've had this procedure done multiple times at Cleveland clinic and they spend a considerable amount of time ensuring proper coverage. Dr. Tracey spends about 1/8 the amount of time, leaving large gaps over the surface, likely motivating patients to keep coming back for multiple treatments. In fact, they try to upsell you on a scam to pre-pay for three half-assed treatments in advance and get one free. It backfired in my case. I had simply asked Dr. Tracey if she could give a few extra zaps to a couple of small problem areas. She said she would, but not only did she not, she didn't even touch one of the areas. I tried to mention something after she finished, and she dismissed me. In her greedy mind, a few extra zaps was like asking for a $250 handout. There were also a couple of large areas that she missed entirely. If she thinks zipping patients through in three minutes for $800 is sufficient, she's sorely mistaken. I attempted to go to this facility because it was much closer than Cleveland clinic. That was my mistake, and when I decide I want to do the treatment again, I will definitely not consider Apex or Dr. Tracey. read more

Their Hudson is office is full of snobs. They only care about money here. If you are Medicaid they treat you like garbage. Cosmetic dermatologists are all about cosmetics, that is where the money is. There seems to be a lack of the medicinal side to dermatology. I had hair thinning and they didn't even test me for anything. Just said, take an expensive supplement I never even heard of. It's very sad. Mary their former NP actually treated me with humanity. It acts like its owned by private equity. read more

Dr. Tracey and her team were very pleasant and professional. The office was clean and welcoming. Great staff. However, the prices are insane. They charged me $535 for 10-15 minutes of service. The "skin surgery" performed was the spray of cold fluid on a plantar wart. I was then prescribed $60 topical cream to apply to it. The wart is almost gone a month after treatment. It is incorrigible that this service would cost over $500. read more

If you are concerned about the health of your skin and good medical practice, find someplace else. I found Apex in Westlake, Ohio a rushed, unfriendly and uncaring environment, but the real issue is poor medical practice. At my first (and last) exam there the doctor took a biopsy of a suspicious spot. I waited over two weeks to hear back, and so finally  just went in person to get my results. (The lab report had, in fact, been in their hands for two weeks; I read it on the report). When I saw that the diagnosis was a squamous cell carcinoma, I approached the receptionist and asked what I was to do with this unsettling information. They had an office employee speak with me, explaining my medical options of either surgery or six-week chemotherapy cream protocol. Clearly a DOCTOR should have been discussing this with me, not office personnel. Further, she did not offer to set up an appointment for treatment. I the meantime I had my personal physician read my biopsy report and he said he did not think I needed surgery, but to get a second dermatologist's opinion, which I did, and she concurred that I did not need surgery. Had I followed through with Apex, I would have had an unnecessary and expensive procedure. It is now two months later, (as far as they know I am still their patient) and still no one from the office has contacted me with follow-up about treatment for my skin cancer. read more

Office management here is awful. They rarely answer the phone, then you get a voice message sayiing they will return your calL in 24 to 48 hours but never do. Doctors are not there full time. I have seen Dr. Henry several times and have been really happy with her services. She is very professional and knowledgeable. The reason that I am giving only 3 stars is that when Apex called me and asked me to call back for results on a biopsy, I was funneled to a voice mail box. They never called back. In fact, I called FOUR times and was in each case sent to a voice mail box. They have never answered. I finally got a real person (not the one with the results) who said they would write a 'personal note' to the staff. Still no call. read more

I had a nail injury that resulted in losing the nail. I had to see a specialist for some aftercare. The front desk staff greeted me politely, and I was able to be seen within so fast! Thank you to Dr. Henry and Debbie who helped me with my poor sad little fingernail! read more

I was referred to Apex and the wait time in the office is ridiculous. Each time I have to wait 30-40 minutes after the time of my appointment to be seen. My total appointment took 4 minutes. read more

Over the past 3 years I had 2 squamous cell carcinomas detected and removed here. Scars are barely detectable. Many keratoses removed by liquid nitrogen. I've never had a problem with scheduling. read more
