The only reason I gave this one star is because if I didn't I wouldn't be able to leave a review. In Sept. 2023 I have a few spots removed from my forehead. I had to pay for this procedure out of my own pocket. It was $150.00 to have this done. At the time I had this done I was told that if they came back I could just have them "zapped again." I went back for a follow up and because one wasn't removed properly I had to have it removed again. Went back in January of this year and I have had two of the spots come back. I was told that this could happen (was never told this the first time) and that if I wanted to have them removed I would have to pay again. I would suggest you find a more reputable dermatologist. read more

I came here for a simple spot check. I wasn't here for anything serious, but I would trust this facility in case I ever did need something serious. They have all their patient forms online. This is convenient, because I filled them all out at home and came right on the clock for my appointment. I only had a wait time of a few minutes and I was in and out of the whole appointment in under 40 minutes. One of the employees also mentioned that this location is often less busier than the others, so its often easy to snag an appointment here. I saw Dr. Moore. Honestly, my appointment was so quick that its hard to have too many pros or cons. I felt comfortable, the doctor was nice, and the patient room was clean. His assistant, Shaina, was who I spent majority of the time with. She was very nice, thorough, and answered all of my questions. The staff knows what they are doing and they had me in and out. Apex Dermatology: I was placed in your care by a referral from my previous dermatologist. I scheduled my first appointment for 1/22/2021 and went online as directed, to print and complete my new patient paperwork. I arrived at 1:45 PM for my 2:00 PM appointment. I was politely greeted by your receptionist staff. We exchanged pleasantries, I provided all of my records from my previous dermatologist, the new patient paperwork, including a photo of all of my medications/supplements, my insurance card, my driver's license and my credit card for my co-pay. When the receptionist noted that my insurance was Cigna, I corrected her and explained that it is a Cigna plan that is mirrored by Daniel H. Cook. I advised her NOT to reach out to Cigna, but to reach out to Daniel H. Cook, the number on the back of my insurance card. Time passed and I was asked to approach the receptionist's desk again. There were concerns about my insurance coverage. I was asked to sign a "Medical Mutual"?? document, with section D left blank for specific billing codes. I was told that the document would need to be signed BEFORE I would be seen by the doctor. I sat down, reviewed the document, checked a box that I assumed was the appropriate box and returned it to the receptionist's window. Shortly thereafter, the receptionist came out to the waiting room and whispered "the doctor wants to know if you have any other insurance, besides Cigna"? My response was no, and it's not Cigna! By this point it is 2:22 PM. I am humiliated. I feel like a 2nd class citizen, due to my insurance carrier. Within moments, I am called back to an exam room by a young man. He is polite and asks me my height and weight. He also asks what medications I am on (which I have already provided in writing) and also asks if I have had any type of skin cancer (which is in my records and also in my paperwork that I completed prior to my arrival). I am having a full body skin exam, so I am given a paper gown and asked to leave my undergarments on as well as my shoes. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Tracey knocks and comes in and so does the young man who took my information! I am not even asked if it is ok if there's a man in the same room, in my current state of undress!!!! Dr. Tracey asks if I've had skin cancer (is it not common practice to review a new patient chart, who's trust has been bestowed to you by another doctor)? At this point, I can hardly even think straight as I am so upset. The exam is over in minutes. The doctor tells me to come back in a year, then catches herself and decides 6 months is appropriate, given my skin cancer history. I have now found a dermatology practice that makes the care of their patients a priority over their billing practices. read more

I went in for a routine check-up. When I received my billing statement, I noticed I was being billed for a procedure that I felt did not occur. When I attempted to dispute the bill, I was informed that the doctor was very adamant that the procedure was performed and that the amount on my bill would not change. There is no appeal process or customer advocate available. In my heart, I know I was right, but I am more disappointed in the fact that the doctor would not even contact me to discuss the billing issue and obtain my point of view. read more

My son saw Dr. Moore and he recommended my son gets a biopsy. He gave him the name of a plastic surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic. First a plastic surgeon was overkill for a basic biopsy and second he was booked a year out. My son called Dr. Moore and left messages for guidance. The Cleveland Clinic laughed at a request for a biopsy as they said MD's know they have to put in a formal order. Thank goodness for University Hospital's amazing Dermatology Group. They got my son in the same day and immediately did a biopsy due to the severity of the situation. The staff was shocked that an MD would let a patient leave their office without a biopsy or helping the patient to get an appointment for one with a physician that can perform it. I do not like to leave negative reviews but when it has to do with medical care I feel it's necessary. read more

Ive had only bad experiences with apex dermatology, my daughter had a mole removed on her back and it was a horrible experience and also left a scar of epic proportions, probably five times as big as the mole itself. The next time the doctor was 45 minutes late for my appointment, we waited until I had to leave, she came out and looked at the mole for 5 seconds and I was billed full price which they refuse to do anything about. If I could give them less i would. I went in to see Doctor Yoder at the Parma location..... they told me i had a broken blood vessel under my eye. I scheduled to get it removed. THEY CANCELLED ON ME 3 times. I then called again, trying to make another appointment at a different location AFTER ALL i had to work around my work schedule. I was on hold for more then 40 mins then hung up on. I ALSO then was told I should go see a eye specialist...... The lady on the phone was nice and felt bad - as she should. I then was told there was no openings. SO i called the mayfield location and they told me the provider does not do anything near the eye! I hung up. I will never go back again. They are clueless, had no idea what was going on with their patients. read more

I was referred to Apex by my retiring dermatologist. I had a pillar cyst removed. The first appointment was just to view the cyst that would be removed. I never even took my coat off. I was rushed in and out of the office. I spent about 2 minutes with the very polite nurse and then literally about 30 seconds with the doctor who looked at the cyst rushed out and told the nurse to schedule the removal. This less than 5 minutes visit including check in was $200. The cyst was removed and during the procedure the doctor and nurse discussed using cauterization to help close the wound. It was literally one zap with the cauterizer $487 for just the closure not the removal. I had another cyst removed that had one internal stitch that I was told would dissolve. 6 months later it came back up through the skin fully in tact. I removed it myself to avoid another $200 office visit. It was just not a very good set of experiences, all very expensive, which Medical Mutual didn't pay much of and all very rushed. You are just a number here in a very fast moving and expensive assembly line. read more

Came here for help with my hyperhidrosis. Absolutely no help. This so called "doctor" looked like he had no idea what he was doing. They told me they've never even heard the issues I was having. Someone I know came here to get a wart removed. She left with the wart still on her foot. That was in December. The wart is still on her foot in May. read more
