Not only did…read morethey resist owning their many mistakes on my $26,000 re-roofing job - which took 5 months to complete because of their shoddy work that included installing warped & damaged materials - I believe they acted in bad faith &/or breached our contract in several other ways, including: 1. failing to provide a promised materials warranty & an itemized list of project costs 2. attempting to overcharge me several hundred $$ by unilaterally increasing the contract balance 3. replacing my home's original high-quality flashing with damaged, low-quality material 4. grossly overcharging me for materials to repair their own work 5. over/charging me for corrections ordered by the City of Pullman Protective Inspections Division after the company's work failed to meet local building code standards 6. accusing the city building inspector & wider office of ignorance and exceeding their authority 7. the owner's threatening to sue me & take my home. I have reported Osprey Exteriors to the Better Business Bureau and the state attorney general's Consumer Protection Division and might have to sue them to get my materials warranty.

From the bid onward, KACI proved communicative, responsive, and could deliver exceptional craftsman work. Details of costs and a time line were specified, with change orders clearly indicated as needs arose. Although the project took slightly longer than anticipated, all major aspects of construction were completed and officially inspected in a timely manner.  Communication between KACI, subcontractors and ourselves was adequate. Costs of materials and labor were clearly indicated, including Washington State taxes. KACI conscientiously tracked and documented adherence to building codes.  All this, of course, was essential.  But going beyond that, all persons involved with KACI were polite, personable, and communicative. Overall design and details of construction were worked out conscientiously, with our feedback solicited. To say my wife is pleased with our new addition is an understatement. We are well satisfied.

Throughout the process of even beginning to bid a project (which we never received in 3 MONTHS, by the way), there were multiple visits to our home to measure the space, and all were "not final" or "still needed to be verified." We were only able to speak with our "liaison," and when I asked to speak with a supervisor, or anyone in specific departments, I was told to speak only with my liaison. There was never an invoice or official bid, only an email with an overpriced estimate for a different project that we ended up using a more professional and reasonable company to complete. They wanted money upfront for any small project, which according to them was $50,000-$75,000 or less. Are you kidding me? We wanted to use them for a bathroom remodel, and they kept insisting we needed to move walls with no explanation - Building code? Did they just want more money from us? Who knows. If they had upfront said we were too small of a job for them, like other local companies have done, I would have much more respect for them. However, their lack of communication, listening skills, and professionalism will only encourage negative reviews moving forward.
