Karen Nolan is AMAZING and every other adjective in this category!…read more I have been through 4 dermatologists in the last 20 years of my life. They would just spend all of 10 minutes with me then prescribe a cream, that would never work to say the least. Karen however, took the time with my first appointment to go over everything with me no matter how long it took. She not only gave me the right prescriptions that I needed but also helped me get to the core of my problem. She is kind, compassionate, listens, thorough, and above all really cares about her patients. I honestly cannot say enough about her. I wish I found her 20 years ago because she has me as a patient for life! I cannot stop word vomiting about her to all of my family and friends so that they can go and see her because I would not waste my time with any other dermatologist. This was the best referral of my life seen her. The last 10 years of my life have been a struggle with my psoriasis. She has changed my life because she has helped cure me basically and with the minor maintenance I am virtually psoriasis free and I can't be more happier. So thank you Karen Nolan for being the best dermatologist on the planet!!!!!

I will never set foot inside this doctor's office again. I had waited over 6 months to get an…read moreappointment. When making the appointment, I didn't feel like I needed to divulge all the reasons why I'm coming to see a doctor to a RECEPTIONIST, so I said I'd like to speak to her about some dermatitis. When I finally had my appointment today, the office assistant was quite adamant that I could only speak to her about the ONE thing I came to speak to her about because they had only allotted enough time for that. So, the doctor just absolutely refused to talk to me about ANYTHING else. It was a serious mind-fuck. Isn't a dermatologist supposed to check your moles or something as part of a routine visit? I felt completely rushed and disrespected - it really ruined my day. And the worst part is that they were so nice and pleasant about the whole thing. I get it. Doctors get paid for procedures they do, not to listen to you complain about how you don't like your complexion. This one will probably be more interested in me when I'm 40 and wanting Botox or skin resurfacing or whatever the fck the bored housewives of Arlington get for their bdays. This was a real disappointment. After reading reviews about a doctor who listens, I experienced something altogether different.

Dr Hirsch does not strike me as the type of Doctor you select for a "routine visit". The woman is…read morerenowned for cosmetic and laser dermatology, which is why I waited for an appointment. In my case, I decided to see Dr. Hirsch for laser hair removal and a general consult about what daily facial skin regimen would be best for me. The woman is adorable. She is full of energy and possesses a staggering wit. More importantly, she is devastatingly blunt. If what you want is unrealistic, she is going to tell you, and I think that is an extremely important characteristic for someone in her field. Luckily, my expectations were feasible, and after a thorough chat about my skin and what over the counter products I could use to keep me looking younger longer (which, although admittedly rather expensive, have been working like a charm!), I was ushered out to schedule the actual appointment for my procedure. The ensuing appointment was just as great as the consult. I am sure I looked slightly nutty in protective eyewear (lasers are bright!), a medical gown, and a hair cap. Yet somehow, Dr Hirsch put me at ease. She even gave me a stuffed animal to hold on to during the procedure. The day after the procedure I was surprised by how red the treated areas looked. It was a little scary! I called the office and the office manager took my information. Soon after, Dr. Hirsch rang my phone and walked me through my concerns. The redness was normal, but she was never condescending, and she even called me each day for 2 days thereafter, just to make sure I was doing well! And the results of the procedure?.... SO GREAT!! I will definitely consult Dr. Hirsch for all of my dermatology and cosmetic concerns in the future.

I have been wanting to get laser hair removal for years but have been scared of the risks of laser…read morehair removal as a black woman. Dark hair on dark skin is the hardest combination for this, most lasers have been designed for light skin and dark hair. For me it was important to find someone that not only had the right laser (Nd:YAG 1064nm) for my skin tone, but also someone who had experience treating someone that looks like me. I felt confident enough after my consultation with Dr. Graber to make my first appointment for laser hair removal. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 starts is because it is impossible to get someone on the phone to answer questions. I understand that they are extremely busy, but I had to call 5 times between Friday and Monday to finally get a response while I was in the car on my way to my appointment which was frustrating and scary before my first laser removal appointment. I ended up getting there early so that I had time to ask all my questions. Though I did feel a little rushed at first, when a said I had a couple questions they immediately got the doctor so I could speak to her before we proceeded. After that I felt relieved and much more comfortable proceeding with the laser treatment. In hindsight, I think this is so routine to the nurses and doctors that work there they probably thought I was a repeat patient and didn't anticipate me having questions. But as soon as I spoke up they were much more attentive and explained everything that they were doing along the way. I left feeling good about my overall experience and I think my next visit will be a better one now that I know what to expect. I've only just started laser hair removal treatment so I can't say yet how well it has worked but I have no negative side effects and have been able to go about my life normally after the first treatment.

I was seen on time, and Dr. Ratushny is the most thorough doctor I have ever encountered. After a full skin check, he counseled me on a number of issues, from acne to eczema to sunscreen, and had a full plan or reason why no treatment was needed for each concern. He took a biopsy of my eczema on a Tuesday, and his office called with results on Friday, making small adjustments to the treatment plan I was given until I'm seen for a follow-up appointment. MA Dermatology Associates also has an online patient portal where I was able to log in and review the notes and photos taken at my visit. He answered all of my questions realistically and without making me feel like any of them were silly, and I feel very confident in Dr. Ratushny's care.

Despite this, both the dermatologist and the medical assistants insisted that the reaction could not have been caused by the product and advised me to resume using it once the irritation cleared. I followed their instructions, and as soon as I reapplied the solution, my scalp broke out in the exact same reaction the very next day. Even after experiencing two identical reactions within four weeks--each occurring immediately after using the topical--everyone I spoke with continued to dismiss the obvious connection and suggested the cause was something else I was doing. It is extremely clear that the reaction was caused by the product they prescribed, yet throughout every conversation, the staff didn't to acknowledge this possibility. The unwillingness to take my concerns seriously was very frustrating.
