I signed my 1 year old for direct/concierge primary care at Newlove and WOW it's been nothing but amazing! I can access appointments same day easily especially when Orren is sick. When Orren got RSV, Tanya went out of her way to help me find solutions to keep him comfortable & safe at home as he worked his way past the viral infection. Tanya even checked on us both. As a primary doctor, Newlove has allowed for me to find a place that allows vaccine choice with no shame and access to a GREAT doctor 24/7. It's especially great for medically complex kiddos like my son. 1000000/10 would recommend switching all littles to NEWLOVE for primary care! My 1 year old son and I have been going to Newlove Nutury for the classes for about 2 months now (since the grand opening!). I would 100% recommend the NewLove Nutury to all moms/parents and caregivers with littles. It is a place for community for parents and a place for our kids to socialize and get all that energy out. It is safe and welcoming. Tanya is helping to build a community for all parents to feel safe without judgement but instead feel VERY supported. It is hard to find local groups were parents of similar age littles can discuss the struggles and triumphs of daily life of parenting. I am so lucky to have found them. Then at 2:05 the receptionist called me up to the desk and asked me to provide insurance ID, which I didn't have, so I gave them mine because my boys all under 18 should be on mine. Plus I pay the premium and confirmed with the insurance they were active a week prior. The receptionist told me the insurance was terminated which made no sense because I paid for the whole family. So they tried to run the claim and it denied. Then they told me they'd work on it and to sit down until I'm called up again. Well I sat down at 2:25 (5 mins past my apt) and then they didn't call me back up until 3PM and people who had appointments after my son were going right in!!! When she called me up, she was on the phone with the insurance and the ins said they boys were not active, so I spoke to them. THAT MAKES NOOOO SENSE. Then they checked Medicaid and healthy kids, not active anywhere. And I make too much money for Medicaid. So then they made me call member services at my insurance company. They said I showed active and that it was the providers fault. I was livid so I told them that I had been waiting for over an hour and thats unacceptable. And the reception tells me that my son couldn't be seen until they receive the payment prior to the service. So I told them that he was sick and they can't deny care, its against the law. She told me that its the doctors orders and they can deny care with no payment. Again, I'm pretty sure thats illegal. So I wasn't waiting any longer, I called the member services and hung up because I was on hold for 20 minutes, and just paid her the $145 cash in my wallet that was for rent money. Because my son needed to be seen. Anyway after I paid they called him right in. This was at 3:35 and his appointment was at 2:20. Thats a little over an hour waiting. So we get in the office and the doctor walks in 5 minutes to 4pm and looks at his feet and says "You seriously brought him in for blisters he got from walking on his feet barefoot?" I told him they are not normal blisters they don't look normal, it looks like foot, mouth, and hand disease. My kids have had it before and I know what it looks like. He told me no it wasn't and he says btw your son is fat. He needs to lose weight. I'm going to put him on a strict diet and you come in every 3 months. He needs to lose 5 pounds in the next 3 months. I told him my son was not fat and he said that hes in the 99th percentile which is obese and him losing weight depends on how good of a mother I am. I mean seriously? Then the visit turned inappropriate because he asked me why I had a bandaid on my arm. I told him I had blood drawn earlier. And he said why. I told him because I have not been feeling well and he says "have you had your thyroid checked?" I told him yes then he asked if he could feel my throat for lumps. I said "I guess..." and he did and was like "I don't feel any masses" but anyway have a nice day. Then as I was checking out the reception told me my balance was an addition $70!!!! I was livid, I said for what!? And she said for a detailed examination with his weight. I told her he wasn't there for his weight and I didn't ask him to even check that or make a plan to lose weight. So she told me i couldn't leave until I paid. I seriously think he charged extra for asking to feel my thyroid on my neck when the patient was my son. So I the balance. $215 dollars later. I would NOT recommend this provider to anyone and I will be filing a complaint with the Rural Health Offices Main Office.
