My favorite thing about this hotel was the kind staff. They immediately fixed a broken hairdryer, brought me new blankets, saved pretzels for me for breakfast, etc. This location is super close to my office in Erlangen so it was easy to wake up later in order to be in the office by 8:30. The room itself is pretty big by European standards with a kitchenette and a pretty big bathroom but it is sparse feeling, though. It was not super cheap to stay here. The breakfast was a typical German breakfast - which to me is generally delicious (plain yogurt, granola etc. fruit, eggs, boiled eggs, etc.). I have been staying at the Hotel Kral for over ten years when I come to the Erlangen and have stayed in several other hotels prior in the area. I enjoy staying here because the staff is so friendly and accommodating, the breakfast is great and the the breakfast staff do everything they can to make the experience very positive, the internet works great and there are several English channels to choose from. A big plus is that the Siemens factory is a very short walk and the downtown area is a straight and short walk away. The biggest plus is that they have air conditioning available in the summer-not something that is common here. There is also free usage of washing machines and dryers. read more

Had to visit Erlangen for Business and the Hotel Kral is the hotel of choice for my team. It is located very close to our Office and just a short walk to the Historic Downtown section and train station. The rooms are very clean and offer en-suite bathrooms. Rooms come in 2 sizes Twin/Single or Large with Kitchenette. Since I was there alone and only 4 nights I chose the Single. It was the size of a generous US walk in closet. But remarkably I never felt cramped. I had a balcony, desk, frig, full bathroom with a nice sized shower. Twin sized bed was very comfy with down pillow and comforter. TV offered several English language news channels. Hot/Cold Breakfast which is included was Excellent. Bar in the Lobby is open in the evening for Beer and cocktails. WIFI is included. Very pleasant and helpful English speaking staff. Kaufland Supermarket is up the street for stocking the frig as well as a Beer/bev distributor nearby. It amazes me that Beer is Cheaper than Water. Hotel Kral is a Great Place to stay. read more

My husband and I stayed here while he was in training at Siemens for 2 weeks. I got to know the staff pretty good, very nice people. The room was little small for the 2 of us, we're just used to more space. The breakfast was great, pretty much the same thing everyday but a lot of choices. Met (Mario) the owner several times, very nice and funny. I would stay here again if we go back. Free use of the laundry machines is nice but the dryer needs work. read more
