This place took me for both time and money, because I had to do my larger load twice. Here's the saga: First, this isn't a cheap laundromat; the price goes up after you choose any temp other than cold, or if your clothes are dirty, so be prepared. I spent $4.50 on my larger load on one of the medium-sized machines. When I returned to dry my clothes, I was stunned to find them SOPPING WET. The machine was showing some code, and a not-very-helpful sign strategically placed beside the machine said you have to open and shut the door to continue the cycle if that code appears. Well, not really. Nothing happened. Since my clothes were wet, I had no choice but to spend another hunk of money on another machine and another 40 minutes (my poor dog) to get to the spin cycle. I drove around 80 miles round trip for this. There is NO CONTACT information anywhere, no way to leave a message on their phone, and clearly no one who cares if a customer gets ripped off in their laundromat. There are PLENTY of signs warning customers of all the bad things that will happen to THEM if they write a bad check though. Probably this could happen at any laundromat, but usually there's a number to call to report getting ripped off. It seems this place cares more about their bottom line than they do about customer satisfaction or personal accountability.

The grocery store next door absolutely refused to give change. So we downloaded the Speed Queen app which the washers and dryers were connected to. What a huge pain. I'm tech savvy and the app required you to enter so much data and would not allow apple payment so I had to actually enter card info. Just for so many inconveniences I would not recommend this place. I made a trip to Malone today from Lake Placid to pick up a few things. I decided to bring along my…read moreking and queen comforters to see if there was a laundromat I could wash them in as my washer and dryer in my house isn't big enough. I googled laundromats in Malone and three popped up, but one was closed and the reviews for East End Laundry were pretty good so I chose to do it here. What an amazing experience, the place was immaculate. The machines were beautiful and worked really well getting my comforters, nice and clean and dried quickly. I had never seen dryers that rotated clockwise for a couple minutes and then reversed counterclockwise to keep your laundry from just turning into a ball. The whole ambience of the laundromat was a great experience...the comfy chairs, the blue stools next to the folding tables,the clean bathrooms, the TVs. I even noticed how beautiful the floors were. I was a professional figure skater and was on tour for 10 years on the road throughout North America and had to do my laundry while on the road in laundromats. East End Laundry is the nicest laundromat I've ever been in. Lake Placid should take notes... I made the mistake of going to that laundromat once and I won't go back.
