I was told by Taryn that he either has to drive 3-1/2 hours to so it in person, or write a letter (postage and an envelope, really?) I used my Black Spa privileges . Omgoodness I fell in love with the lay down Hydromassage machines rather than the sitting up ones back home . The gym etiquette is slim to none as folks dont put their weights away, or wipe down equipment, and it's pretty frequent that tobacco spit bottles are left around. Gym is okay if you're just getting started and want privacy till you build confidence. Price isn't reasonable for what you get especially since the newer better gyms in town are the same rate. This gym should be $10-15 not 25 a month. Additionally, I know this is a religious area but a franchise gym shouldn't have religious quotes, symbols, and music.

I've was a member for almost 3 years, until recently. I cancelled my membership on April 10, 2026. Prior to me cancelling my membership, I experienced something that no one should have to experience. I had finished my workout and I was changing back into my regular clothes. I had left my shirt hanging on a rack in the locker room. I was reaching for my shirt and I noticed that something had been left in one of my shirt pockets. I didn't see anyone standing around, so I cautiously reached inside my pocket and pulled the item out. To say I was disgusted at the vile item that I pulled out. I would have been less disturbed had I pulled out a noose. Someone had stuffed one of the brown paper towels used to wipe the equipment after use. Whomever had left the paper towels, also left a message for me on the paper towel. The vile individual took time to use the bathroom and wipe their butt, that's right, that vile and filthy individual defecated, wiped his a$$ with the paper towels and then stuffed the paper towel in my shirt pocket. I reported the incident to the director. I was told the matter would be investigated, but I know how that will go. People of color, if you have a membership at the Y, I'm not telling you to give it up. I'm telling you to watch your sorroundings and be alert.

I'm super close to canceling my membership & joining crunch because for the price difference why wouldn't you? As much as the memberships cost I feel they should at least freshen up the restrooms and some of the gym equipment... the women's restrooms In the front and back are so dated & ran down.. I also definitely do not feel as welcomed as I used to up there, hardly anyone speaks or greets you as you walk though, if anything some staff give nasty stares. I hope they listen to the people's needs/wants and straightened everything out to the ymca I used to know & love.
