My fiancés family has been doing their family reunion here for years. The park is always clean, the building they rent is reasonably priced and very cozy ! Always enjoyable and we look forward to returning each year!

Only stayed 2 days as this was a driving break. Brought our kayaks...boat ramp/lake was great for both launching and landing. Water was clear (clean) and mostly shallow. We could mostly see the bottom and it was less than 3 ft. Lots of aquatic growth along the edges and large areas in the middle. One fisherman commented on the difficulty finding fish. We did not visit the swimming area. We camped in our RV (full hook-ups)- good water pressure and constant electricity. My husband said the restrooms were under construction but since we had FHU it didn't matter. Our site was spacious and clean and we had both a firepit and grill. Great camping area with plenty of playgrounds for younger children and wide open spaces.

Lots to do here if you're into the outdoors! Hiking trails, kayaking, volleyball, mini golf, fishing and baseball are just some of the outdoor activities you can enjoy in this park. There are also 3 different playgrounds and several pavilions available for rent. There is primitive camping and 46 RV sites - about which half are pull thrus. We camped on site 43. A pull thru site with full hookups. It was fairly level and had a picnic table, fire ring, grill and lantern hook. There was a huge hole that is an accident waiting to happen just outside our camper. Besides that it was a great site long enough for our 30' RV and our toad (jeep Wrangler) to fit end to end. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would camp here again!

I have been wanting to paddle-in and camp with my hammock here for a while. I had the chance this past Thursday afternoon to take my paddle board and hammock. When I arrived I noticed a full bag of trash next to a full trash can. I then walked to check out the out house restroom and noticed how dirty it was with spiders and cobwebs with no toilet paper, but I did find a wet soggy roll laying in the campsite in the very tall grass that has not been cut. The response I got from the main office when I complained when I was checking out was their boat has had some issues and have not had a chance to get out there and clean it up, but they sure have time to take my money !!

Love this park, little disappointed that they closed the bathrooms for cleaning at 7:45 am, which would be a time for those just getting up needing to pee. The site was nice, had shady spots and was pretty level. Easy back in, no cable at my site, which wasn't expected as last year during spring break, my site had it. Carly called @ 4 to tell me gate code, as they close at 5. Thought early for a summer and people traveling.

Even little grills To cook out. We came after it poured down. Not the most ideal LoL it made for a mosquito haven. There were already a good amount of people and the parking lot was almost full, but there was still plenty of space for people in the springs. There isn't a lot of space to put your belongings as there aren't really any large open spaces, but people pretty much just put their stuff where they can. You can either enter the springs via some stairs that take you right to the deep portion, or you can walk around the springs and enter at a shallower section. If you do go in at the shallower section, be aware that there's quite a strong current that can be difficult to fight against to get into the deep area. I would also recommend chacos or sandals of some kind as there are a lot of rocks in the shallower end that can be very slippery. The water is VERY cold, so be prepared for that, but know that it will also feel amazing afterward and soak any body aches/pains away. The springs are one of the most beautiful swimming areas I've seen--so much beautiful nature surrounding it. If I could go there WITHOUT the loud crowds of people, it would be the most absolutely perfect spot to relax and spend a day. Even with that it was fantastic and I would 100% return.

We took our two kids here on a break from long road trip and while it's not right on 75, it's a perfect pit stop. I would recommend this to all as it's a really short hike with some beautiful views and it's free. We did not see any of the land/water wildlife while we were here such as alligators or lizards, snakes, and frogs, but we did see some beautiful birds and considering it was the dead of winter, we were happy. The boardwalk is in decent condition and you don't have to worry about a gator jumping up eating you. The tower you get to climb at the end offers great views and a nice finish to the short (approximately .5 miles each way) trip.

It was awesome to be thrust into nature in the swamp while still staying somewhat safe on a boardwalk above it. The tower at the end of the boardwalk was like the prize at the end... it was quite a climb up the stairs but the view was so worth it. The boardwalk is in need of some major repairs as there were parts where the railing had fallen over and other parts where boards were warped and/or rotted. As long as you are careful I think this is a good place to bring kids. Mine really enjoyed themselves and the bugs weren't bad. Beware of giant spiders in webs that may be at face level! We didn't see any gators but saw plenty of butterflies, dragonflies, birds, ducks, and beautiful flowers.

Primitive CAMPING AT THE PARK…read more Memorial day weekend Absolutely love to stay really beautiful, super peaceful and quiet at night other than it being Memorial Day weekend once that cooled down absolutely amazing Camp site We got one of these smaller sites. I wanna say we were at number 10. It was very nice, but it is very unlevel so putting up a tent and walking around in the tent was rough on your feet because it was nothing but roots sticking up out of the ground Luckily enough, we were primitive camping, but still did take an air mattress, but if you were sleeping in a sleeping bag, this would have been a huge problem Something to think about four people who go to primitive camping, but glamp with generators lights, etc. be considerate of your neighbors yes, we do understand that. It was memorial day weekend, but our neighbors had a generator and lights on bright enough You could probably see it from the moon. Even after they went to bed, left their lights on! They were quiet and really kept to themselves even with the children they had with them, but it was not very primitive due to that was a huge bummer to hear a generator going all night long and to be lit up like Fort Knox Also, one of the problems with that is, we were specifically told that even if it was a battery powered generator, they were strictly not allowed, but yet there was clearly that rule is not enforced ADULT Noises Again, memorial day weekend there's drinking going on but for my first time experience here without going into detail, some people sound like chickens being strangled when it's ADULT TIME and you may want to pack a pair of headphones for your small children so that when they hear animals of the night, that sound like rabbits fighting for their life in the tent next to you that they are not scared by the two legged wildlife if you know what I mean lol Roads/car traffic/ATV Traffic was busy again. I'm going to say it was because of the fact that was memorial day but speeding is a major problem if you're planning on walking your little ones to the bathroom you will need to keep a hold of them because it's NASCAR from ATVs to side-by-side they go fast Bathrooms Clean BUT you can see through the curtains which made me really nervous because in my brain if I can see you, you can see me so I ended up bringing clothes pens and a super big beach towel to hang over the curtain Washer and dryer There is a washer and dryer on site that is free to use. It's pretty awesome because nobody really leaves their clothes in there too long and everyone shares it amazing. Lake/fiahing Fishing was absolutely amazing. There's multiple different boat ramps that you can go in Fish off of or you can bank Fish. Do keep in mind that you will need your fishing license because we did get stopped an the 2 men next to us did get a hefty fine for fishing without a license With this being said, I do plan to go again, but I'm going to try to veer away from Big holidays, just due to the fact of the strangled chicken situation
