I was expecting this place to blow, but instead it blew me away. Back in the day, when I "had" to read, I couldn't work on my computer hacking skills by checking out a book explaining punch cards along with a laptop from the county library. I couldn't work on my bow staff skills by checking out one of those bamboo sticks they use for reading newspapers. I couldn't work on my brooding musician skills by checking out an out-of-tune ukulele in tandem with a book of uke chords. Girls like guys who have skills, and if I had an Anythink within Romper Stomping distance of our apartment complex, I think dating life may have turned out a little different. This is an awesome free resource. If you're near, get in here! And BONUS: I just found out they have a 3-D Printer in house, in one of the studios up front! They had a program where you could make your own Pokemon cards and custom stencils! read more

Seems to be 'downtown' Brighton. They open at 9am. Got there about 10 minutes before they opened. Saw a few homeless people sleeping around the area. Kids section is completely separate from the other part of the library. Seems like it is dedicated to toddlers. Not much for kids under 2 years old. Staff was friendly. read more

I like the library itself, I just really dislike the staff. I've been there many times and like 3 times I've gone an hour before they close. I'm constantly looking at the time to make sure I don't stay over 7pm when they close. 15 minutes before they close they turn off all the lights for like 3 seconds and it gets all dark and my toddler gets scared. And they do that two more times before they close. That's just so rude, I don't understand why they don't just let the people know that they're going to close. read more

Free library card with unlimited check outs with the exception of 15 movies out at once. Rental is good for 3 weeks but can be renewed 3 times if no one else is waiting for it. Very nice, clean, quiet, and updated library. Nice selection of books, movies, audio, and magazines. Cute coffee shop inside with ample seating and computers. read more

I confess I am a newly reformed book hoarder. As you can imagine all my bookcases are filled to the brim already and now I have a book hoarder in training. My one year old is practically obsessed with books! I am thrilled about passing my love of reading on to her. I want her to know how cool the library is. Every week we go and get around ten picture books. Some she loves, some she doesn't! The good news is she is being exposed to all kinds of new authors and illustrators and the best part is they aren't permanently clogging up the book case. What I didn't know is in the children's area they also have legos, blocks, an easel with crayons, and lots of other fun materials for the kids to play with. Lola couldn't be more facsinated! Plus as soon as we drive into the parking lot she starts excitedly yelling "Books, books!" We would love to join in on storytime, but it's on a day when I am at work. My only request would be that they change the day every quarter or something?? For me I have also checked out a few books, movies, and some kindle books on-line. We are big fans of our library! read more

I adore this library! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. It's clean, the check out systems are a piece of cake to use, and it's queut! For a smaller library- Their selection is pretty good too!! If you are looking for specific books- you can request it. If they don't have it- they either put in a request to buy the book for the library or they can do an interloan library loan. I get inter loan library books in Polish from Chicago libraries through these wonderful people. how cool is that?! read more

I really want to like this library. It's nice, it's clean, and the staff are very helpful. The main problem, however, is that it is the noisiest library I have ever been in. The computer area is always full of extremely loud and inconsiderate teenagers who have concept of library etiquette. On several occasions, I have heard them yell profanities and very obscene statements. When I addressed the staff about this, I am told it is a teen area and they will ask them to keep the noise level down and to use appropriate language. Sadly, some teenagers will be jerk teenagers and will do as they please, so I understand the predicament the staff are in. It's just unfortunate that these particular teenagers are ruining what would be a great library. I hope they can somehow rectify this issue. read more

I love this place. The librarians are super friendly! The children's class by Melanie is so cute. She is really creative and understanding. She has classes for babies, toddlers, and three and up on Mondays and Wednesday. There is music and movement for 3-5 yrs but if your kid is super active this class is better than the toddler story time!! One of the librarians told me if you can't find a book they will order it for you. Great place!!! read more

Hello. I loved this library when it was first built a few years ago, but it has become a place for kids to visit and adults to talk (and take calls) on their cell phones. Last time I was there, it was a lady seated in the "quiet zone" giggling with a friend on her phone. Today it was a 30-year-old guy who sat there for an hour talking on his phone to someone named Bridget about his "so-called wife". Really? I'm an author, and I used to use this branch to do what authors do -- research and develop ideas. Sure would be nice, but...no. Starbucks would be quieter, and they have coffee. read more

This is not the closest Anythink Library to my house, but I went here to get the State Park Pass that you can check out for one week. It is a great deal, with free state park admission for one week. Anyway, it was not available at my location, so I picked it up here. I drove from Thornton to downtown Brighton where the library is located. It was a cold snowy day, and as I came down Bridge Street, I saw the library, but could not figure out where to park as it is on a busy street. I wish they had a huge sign in front that says "Parking Behind Building." Maybe there was one, but I was a bit confused with all the traffic. The library itself is quite nice and the staff helpful. I just am not a fan of the parking lot or small entrance around back. read more

Great local library! They have a large selection of books, and because they are part of the Anythink network of libraries, if the book you want isn't there but at one of the other locations they will bring it over for you and it only takes a day or two usually. They have a great selection of kids activities that are all free, plus a great play area in the library and out back. read more

Its a great place for kids and my kids love the back to school bash every year and we love the art in the room next to the kids area and we also love the after school programs and crafts the only thing that i dont like is that the floors in the kids areas are really dirty and the electrical floor ports and so nasty and have a lot of old food and dirt inside and all the lights are in need of a good dusting ..... read more

It is so noisy. The entire library is loud. It makes it difficult to concentrate, relax, and get lost in a book.

With 4 kids in Brighton, this library is great. Everyone is always helpful and it is well staffed. The drive through window is awesome for returns and pick ups if we don't want to bring everyone in. We have also attended "dance and music" class at this location with our littlest ones and they had a great time. Overall we have had nothing but positive experiences. read more

The resources are good here, and the librarians are friendly and helpful. Study rooms are available for two hours a day, which is helpful if you can get one. I come here often to study because it is the closest resource to me. My only complaint is the noise level. It needs to be enforced... I am not talking about the children's section either, though that would be more understandable. People play their music in the designated study/whisper zones without headphones, talk loudly on their cell phones, and overall, it can be very difficult to concentrate. It's a good library, but definitely the loudest I've ever been to. You'd think a library would be a quiet place to read or study, but I am often left frustrated. read more
