I said "Excuse me, can someone help me?" multiple times and was completely ignored. Rude and unprofessional. Today, I came back for a blood test required to continue my PrEP prescription through Mistr. One of the lab techs--an older, light-skinned woman--acted like she couldn't help me because I supposedly had a balance. That's absurd--I was told by my pharmacist at Cone Health that everything was covered when I was receiving PrEP injections from them. Clearly, that was a lie. What makes it worse is that I had a test done at Quest just a few weeks ago for life insurance, and that tech was able to bypass the balance. Same with my last PrEP test 2-3 months ago--there was still a balance, but the lab tech had no issue helping me. So it really felt like she just didn't want to do her job. To top it off, my appointment was at 11:40 AM--close to their lunch break--so it felt like they were rushing me out of there. I told her I'm broke, homeless, living in my car, and I don't have $194.30 to pay. She didn't care. Just kept saying, "It won't let me bypass it," which I know is BS. I pray she never ends up down bad like I am now, because maybe then she'd understand what it's like to need compassion. She was more focused on the money than helping someone who needs medical care. These money-hungry companies have no heart. Now I have to contact Mistr and let them know I couldn't get my bloodwork done. Absolutely ridiculous.

The young ladies at the front desk were so patient, and the medical staff actually listened instead of rushing me out the door. The place was clean as a whistle, and although there was a bit of a wait, they kept everyone informed, which I appreciated. The provider explained everything in plain English, and I left feeling much better than when I came in. It's hard to find people who genuinely care these days, but this urgent care reminded me that good customer service still exists. I spent over a month trying to get answers about a prior authorization. During that time, I repeatedly followed up with the office and my insurance company, but I never received clear communication about what was happening. What was most frustrating was that I was told they were still waiting on insurance, yet when I switched to a different provider, the new office was able to submit a prior authorization and receive a determination very quickly. That left me questioning whether my case had been handled appropriately in the first place. The final phone call was what made me decide to leave the practice. When I called for an update, I was told that I was "the only one" having this issue and that everyone else was getting approved quickly. As a patient who had spent weeks trying to get answers, I found that response dismissive and unhelpful. Instead of feeling heard, I felt blamed for a situation that was already stressful. Patients dealing with insurance issues need communication, transparency, and follow-through. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I ultimately had to find another provider because I no longer felt confident that my concerns were being taken seriously. I hope the office improves its communication with patients, especially when prior authorizations and time-sensitive medications are involved.

She actually sits and listens to your concerns and will not patronize you are make you feel like you're a hypochondriac like some other doctors will do. She doesn't try to gaslight you into thinking that you're wrong for coming in for whatever you may be coming in for. In fact, It's the exact opposite. She is happy to answer any questions that you may have about anything that may be going on physically with you or at least try to help you figure out what might be causing it and how to combat it.
