For a nursing service, this is highly irresponsible. People's lives could be at stake. GOOD GRIEF!!!! It's not just the last two days, either. Other times, they say they are sending someone out, and no one shows up. I've had individual nurses who have been great - I think that it's the office. ,

My experience with Santa Fe Compassus was not what I had imagined for my dying Mother. She wasn't…read moregiven comfort meds for three days upon her hospital release, which caused her a lot of suffering and when I called the nurse on night duty he had no solutions for her coughing episode, except to complain that I should be upset she hadn't received meds straight from the hospital. We saw 3 different nurses until we were finally told who would be her regular nurse. She was kind, knowledgeable and attentive, but when my mother became agitated at night and was trying to get out of bed over and over, was a huge fall risk, we asked for stronger anti-anxiety meds, and we did not receive more meds or an increase in dosage until after my mother fell getting out of bed at 1:30am, 4 nights before she died and broke her foot. When my mother died and I reported it, the nurse on call, had his wife nearby and I heard her blurt out a judgmental opinion about why we had waited to report her death (HIPPA violation?!) We were told we would have a team to help- a CNA twice a week, only saw her once in 2.5 weeks; a social worker to help with POA and other legal situations - spoke to one from ABQ on the phone because the one in SF had quit. It had been over a week into the hospice experience by then, and my Mother was no longer competent to sign any paperwork. We saw the Chaplin once, and she never followed up with us again. The hospital bed broke over and over and was replaced once, with the guy at DragonFly being a jerk, telling me we had broken it and arguing with my daughter on the phone about it. After it was all over, I got a call from the bereavement person who said she'd be sending a card, which has never come. Overall very disappointed with this group. It was clear they are short staffed and those doing the work are either new, burned out or not interested in the human connection of their work. I would not recommend them to anyone I care about.

In 2011. when Dad needed assisted care, I found Beehive Homes in Albuquerque, a small facility of…read moreabout 15 residents. The place was great, except that it was 65 miles away and every time I had to take Dad to a doctor's appointment it was an all day event for me. During his stay here, the owner of the facility told me about a veteran's benefit I might get for Dad. He then told me he could pay for a lawyer (!) to file the case with VA. Dad got the VA pension because of Michael and Beehive Homes. It took a while to get the pension, even with the lawyer doing most of the work. During that time, I ran out of funds and moved Dad to Pacifica Rosemont. What a mistake! This was an enormous facility that you could get lost in, even without dementia. The staff were sparse but well meaning, but it was a bad deal all around. When Dad's VA pension started coming in, I moved him to the Santa Fe Beehive Homes which was way more expensive than the "big box" facility but you know, you get what you pay for. Again, the people at Beehive Homes went out of their way to help me get Dad's long term care insurance payments. Manager Kelly Hanlin, filled out a plethora of paperwork and faxes and phone calls to help me. I cannot recommend this place enough. These people are caring, honest, and go out of their way to do the right thing. In my book, that's perfection.

Excellent end of life care. It is a well run operation. I wish they had an enclosed outside area but I hear that is coming. Wonderful staff. My parents have both been in other facilities in Santa Fe and Taos and beehive is the best. It is small and family like with private rooms with private bathrooms. Director is very accommodating.

My father was sent home on hospice and this company has reduced his care, support and supplies religiously. We cannot get his meds ever. The pharmacist apologizes for the hospice never sending in prescriptions. The nurses are uncomfortable changing his feeding tube. The care my father has received has caused me more stress than I can explain. DONT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU NEED HELP!.Medications be ready to wait in line at your local pharmacy for hours to be told the medications were never ordered. I called to ask why they were reducing his care again they said they were standing by there nurse. Well I'm standing by my father who needs end of life care. That means I will need to switch hospice care. This can't get any more stressful.
