I paid Angel (Jose) Chan of Lake Chelan Landscaping A 5 figured amount for landscaping my yard. He…read moreis a hard worker but his character and honesty is something I question. I paid for a 400 square foot patio with pavers in the front yard and he attempted to short cut the task by filling in 80 square feet of the patio with gravel. I confronted him about it and he did the work as I requested. Secondly, I paid for a fence that was to be made of pressure treated wood. Again he attempted to shortcut the task by finishing off the fence with wood that was not pressure treated. Once again I talked to him about this and he acted "put off" about it. Thirdly, I wanted an extra 80 square feet of pavers added to my patio in my backyard. Angel charged me $2300 for this addition, which works out to be $29 per square foot. Angel said initially it would take 2 pallets to complete the task. Later he agreed that one pallet was sufficient when I pointed out that it was only 80 square feet. He changed his mind to one pallet. I find that Angel tends to inflate the cost of materials to do a job in order to overcharge the customer. This was a genuine "rip off". I also gave specific directions that I wanted a gate to open inward. The next morning I checked the gate and he made the gate open outward. I talked to him about his mistake and again he acted "put off" as if it was my fault. He showed extreme moodiness about this and reacted rudely. This was compounded by him not following direction by reversing the hardware on another gate. His lack of following direction could probably be a result of English being a second language. The quality of his work can be good when he puts his mind to it or quite poor which usually results when he works in a hurry. For example the edge of the patio made with pavers was irregular and uneven in certain places. This was a result of up to a 1 inch gap between the pavers and the plastic edging. (See pictures). Their are other mishaps with the pavers that are brought out by the pictures. Angel installed the irrigation timer on the outside of the house which voids the warranty. The timer is suppose to be installed inside the house. Overall working with Angel was a challenge. He can do a good job if he wants to but I feel he rushes through a job and then the quality of his work is poor. I could not trust him to do the work I requested so I felt a need to be there when the work was being performed. For any future work I will choose another landscaper.

To this day he has still not finished the job and we started May 10th 2026. Jordan and his crew were conscientious and considerate. Our original agreement was to complete a sidewalk and the patio and the retaining walls. I later added modifying my deck. I did engage my attorney yesterday to see what next steps are to get Brandon to perform. Brandon called my phone twice recently and didn't leave a message about what he was calling about. Then he scolded me about not returning his calls. I informed him if you do not leave a message. I think you butt dialed me. I'm not going to waste my time returning a call when I have no idea if you intended to call or what you were calling about. I do know that he likes to fish and hunt and will drop what he's doing to go do that. I did give him a number of opportunities to make good and not breach our contract before engaging my attorney. I did include a few photos for reference, but they're a number of other items still needing to be completed. Not happy!

We had Edder replace a couple panels on our driveway that had been lifted up by a nearby tree over…read morethe years. From the start, he was extremely clear in his communication of exactly what his bid included and what kind of results to expect and also provided other options we could pursue. His work included a generous warranty that covers not only things like cracking and shifting but also if the tree roots lift up the new panels again. As soon as we signed our contract, he and his crew were out almost immediately for demolition over the weekend and poured the new panels just a few days later before sealing everything post-cure. The final price we paid was very reasonable (almost 30% less than other bids!), particularly considering this project included the extra work of removing tree roots buried under the panels. We're happy with the result and would recommend him for any kind of concrete work.
